What day was this? There were a couple of DeLoreans over the weekend at the classic car show @ Ally Pally One of em was done up (badly) to look like the back to the future car  Today. Monday 21st. Didnt look like it was a bad mock up of the Back to the Future car. No wiley silver haired mad scientists hanging out the door anyway! They should have sparklers that ignite in the wheel arches when it hits 88mph! Great Scott, Marty! Still a fantastic Trilogy.

cant believe it, the only one I'd ever seen is the one sitting in universal studios, Florida, from the BTTF Films, and the day DeLoreon dies, I see one cruising down Park Lane. How Ironic.

So how easy is it to change/ remove and refit the rear wheel bearing? Is there a special tool to push it in tight enough. And slightly OT, but anyone done the front wheel bearing? involved or DIY easy?

Ahh! but unlike a badly modded Essex Citroen Saxo, the scoop actually has a purpose. i.e. To divert air to the turbo inlet! Like the motor and welcome!

Red L Reg, I think it was OVX at the end, also looked like a VR. Overtook you at about junction 5 of the M25. You pulled off into the Clacket Lane services. Nice car! Got to be someone on here!

That's rediculous, so I could just call my bank and recall every cheque I've written out for the past 12 months. Gav, i'm getting that 50 quid back for the headlamp loom! :D

I dont get how this scam works. Ive heard they send you money and you have to pay someone else to get it shipped. Their cheque bounces and your left out of pocket and out of a car. But why cant you just wait until their money has cleared in your account before parting with your dosh and wheels. Seems a bit strange that people fall for this one.

I saw that too! But saw it so quickly I couldn't work out if it was a Rado or a Vento. Glad someone cleared that up for me!

Anyone know where I can get a window sticker advertising the Forum?

didnt see any myself when i changed my mount a couple of weeks ago. Not sure It'd be too effective, as there's rubber separating the two ends of mount.

I want a chrysler 300C. Now THATS a drug dealer's car!

Definately up for it. Shall we go out and take some photos and post up our best? One per member otherwise it could get a bit silly. Especially for those without broadband!!
-
Shame they couldnt have thought about the wipers, headlights and heaters. Essential equipment if you think about it!

So, even when the lights are fully off, there is bulb burning away in the background. Is it illuminating the 'bulb sign'? For some reason it thought it only came on when you put the side lights on! You learn something new everyday!!
-
cool. thanks for the quick reply!

When I've been driving for a while without using the lights at all, and i touch the headlight switch, it feels very hot. Not scalding, but certainly more than warm. Is this normal?

Well, apparently they do a deal. Chains, clutch and head rebuild £1400 inc Vodka And Tonic. Can anyone confirm this? and anyone had it done?
-
Gavin, I'm having trouble with keeping the spade connectors to hold in the slots on both the loom side and lamp side. I ended up just wrapping loads of insulation tape around the lot, but still worried they might wiggle loose. Also, even though I haven't upgraded the Main beam bulbs, the fuse has blown twice on me! any ideas. Other than that, well chuffed with the loom!

A shrick is nearl 3 times the price of a flowed head, though. Always been wary of cams, as the car is mainly a town car and dont want to lose too much low down. I suppose the shrick would compensate though. Is there anything else you'd recommend whilst the cars is in?
-
Looking into sending my car into Stealth to get the chains done. Is it worth getting a gas flowed head at the same time? Will i notice a difference from the standard head? Mine definately needs a rebuild anyway and wondering if its worth upgrading whilst its in there. Apart from a K&N panel filter, my car is standard. many thanks

hmmm, even with the window problems that everyone's pointed out, I am still very tempted though. I love the classlessness of the Golf, and I dont think I am coming to the end of my Hot Hatch / Small coupe days yet. Still need something practical though. PhatVR6, I do tend to agree with you, Mk4s in general are a bit old manny, but I'm not so sure about the GTi, as they still hold a genuine level of kudos amongst young folk. I will definately look into the Leon though. I always fancied the Cupra R, but a little out of my budget. Trying to find a low rent lock up garage for my 'Rado too!

Well, tried to fit the mirror adjuster that i bought from the stealers tonight, and guess what its faulty. It lights up, but thats about it. Hmpf.

Just wondering if anyones got any experience with the above car. The misses is getting a little larger everyday, and she is now complaining the ride of my 'Rado is actually hurting her! I have to find a new car by August anyway, as I dont think VW intended the Corrado to be a pushchair and baby seat affair. Want to stay in the VW brand, and have always liked the 5dr version of the 1.8T GTi. Got about £7K - 8K to spend. My argument is that they're quick, good looking, practical and most importantly now (after years of throwing caution to wind) safe!!! Anything to watch out for and any owners experiences would be very handy before i hand over my hard earned dough! Any alternatives as well?

can you not buy a 2.9 block from VW anymore then?
