  1. Hi Guys, Been searching through this site and took the leap to change my switch colours to red. Instructions on here were spot on but I cannot for the life of me find how to get the Sunroof switch bulb out (I have the assembly out and apart but I can't get the $%#$ rocker switch detached so I can get to the bulb). Plus, how do you get the door mirror swith off? I noticed some of you guys have done this mod if i have missed a page already on this could someone point me to it? Cheers in advance guys...
  2. Guys, sorry for the delay.. I have been birching myself. in my haste I forgot to plug the Starter ignition lead plug into the back of the Solenoid  Thus it would not start... Either way my starting problems have been fixed, cheers for the super fast replies!! Admin please can you lock this up,
  3. Hi Guys, I have a new ignition switch, I removed the multi plug from the current ignition switch and simply plugged it into the new switch and used a screwdriver to turn it. All the ignition and electrics came on but the car would not start. Is this expected? My mechanical knowledge is pap so this sorry if this is a silly question Cheers dudes!
  4. Car: Corrado 2.0L 16v Exhaust: Full Powerflow Stainless Exhaust System with 2 Silencers and Scooby Cat (apparently), Oval tail pipe Opinion Pro's: Spot on fitment, no knocks, bumps etc, fitted by Powerflow in Watford for the sum of 500 notes. Was in and out of there in 4 hours. Car felt a little more responsive at lower revs, burbles on tick over and gets louder between 3000 and 4000 rpm, but calms down after that. Not intrusive on motorway Con's: Back seat pasengers sometimes complain of load noise when sat in back, (a quick reminder that they could have driven instead shuts them up). The Stainless Steel Oval end pipe has lost its chrome finish and looks rusted. Have to wire wool and fine grain wet and dry to get it back to smooth but still looks stained. Bit pee'd off with that but small price to pay.
  5. Hi Guys, I've got a bog standard 2.0l 16v 1993. Does this have a 50mm manifold as standard or is it smaller? The reason I ask is because I've been offered a 50mm inlet manifold from a Golf 16v and wonder if it is worth fitting... Cheers
  6. Nice one, I look forward to getting mucky! :-P
  7. I'll take a look tonight m8, I did have a good spray of Carb Cleaner down that neckof the woods when the car was idling a while ago and there was no difference in engine revs... No harm having another look mind you, cheers for the info bud.
  8. Cheers Alex, Forgive my ignorance here but these pipes are located at the bottom of the air filter housing?
  9. Thats good news... cheers for the quick responce. Problem is that the car does not idle, has a very bad flat spot when you floor it, seems to run a tad rich (popping when you decelerate) and when it does decide to idle it sits at 900 rpm then jumps to 1100 rpm then dies... There are no vacuum leaks, I am on my 3rd ECU, 2nd ISV, new dizzy, plugs and leads.. the list goes on but I took the car to Bosch and the system showed this unit as having a problem, so out it comes. Had the problem for a year now and just want it sorted or I am gonna have to sell it and I am reluctant to do that...
  10. Henny your the man, big thanks forall that info m8. I shall don the overalls, arm myself with some tools and some abrasive soap and get stuck in when I get 5 mins away from this pesky work place!! Cheers bud 8)
  11. Hi Alex, Seriously? Geeee's VW dealers are pants! It must be the metering head then bud, it sits on top of the air filter lid and does have fuel lines running out of it. It seems easy enough to change... but a chimp with a spanner is more competant a mechanic them me...
  12. Hello again, Anyone changed one of these? I have a 16v C 9A engine type with the Bosch MAF. Looks stright forward enough to change but if any knows of any trip me ups I'd sure appreciate knowing about them.. Thanks in advance
  13. Bonjour! Was just wondering if changing the Oil Pump was a straight enough forward job? I'm a bit of a joey when it comes to mechanics Seen on another thread here that beeping sounds suggest low pressure, but also after driving the car for an hour or so the oil warning light occasionally flashes at me, might be a sticky sender switch or something but might change the oil pump to be sure as the cars on 90 odd thousand miles and the pumps never been changed... Any thoughts guys?
  14. Cheers for the feedback guys, di you chaps who actually fitted this unit add the air filter as well?
  15. Hi all, Anyone fitted one of these to their C? Looks like a cheap mod and is said to help fuel efficiency, thought I'd check with the experts first before I fork out on it... http://www.bigboyztoys.co.uk/index.php? ... 0def8ddb73
  16. Hi Guys, Does anyone have the part number for the mass air flow meter for my Corrado. It's a 1993 2.0 16v with the 9A engine? Cheers

    ISV Testing

Forgot to add that I think the 12v input is into the ISV, mine is showing 1.5v and has similar symptoms you are describing

    ISV Testing

I am having a similar problem and noticed that input voltage is about 1.5v, I think it is meant to be 12v... an expert on here will be able to confirm this though. I am guessing from the cirsuit diagram I have which indicates a 12v voltage comes from the ignistion switch....
  20. I've PM'd John, so hopefully he'll be able to get me booked in... Cheers for pointers Henny 8)
  21. DOH, sorry about that... its a 1993 "L reg" 2.0L 16v Engines Mods: K&N Air Filter Stainless Powerflow system with Cat Big thanks Henny, I'll see if I can get hold of John!
  22. Hi Guys & Gals, Ok seem this topic come up frequently and followed the advice given but still no joy, I'll forgive anyone for yawning and closing this thread but if someone has had a similar issue please let me know. My car hunts at idle and occasioanlly stalls when I stop at say traffic lights/ junction. When I pull awayand floor it in 1st gear it has a flat spot and eventually springs into life wheel spinning and sprinting off. I have: 1) Changed the ISV for 3 seperate working ones (1 brand new) - still same problem 2) Put 3 ECU's in 2 second hand 1 brand new -still same problem 3) Checked for air vacuum leaks and replaced pipework using carb clearner, no leaks - still same problem 4) Changed the water temp sensor 0 still same problem 5) The cat and exhaust have been replaced by a powerflow stainless system - still same problem 6) changed the distributor cap - still same problem 7) Battery and contacts are all fine The car does not misfire MPG is 34 on a motorway and 25 round town (so normal) I have to say I'm f'ing stumped on this one, no garages in my locality (South West London) will touch it, the local VW dealers are as much use as a snooze button on a smoke detector. The amount of money I am spending trying to sort this is rapidly digging into my resolve to keep the car, I love driving the car but cannot keep forking out money hand over fist to sort this problem out. Sooooo does anyone know of any good (trustworthy) mechanics, garages anywhere in London/ Sussex/ Surrey/ Buckinghamshire/ Hampshire who could sort this once and for all? I am at my wits end and after my missus nearly killed herself over the weekend when it stalled and I am rapidly thinking of binning the bloody thing for my own piece of mind. Any help would be appreciated guys... arrgghhhh!
  23. Count me in as well for these guys.. I have a '93 2.0l 16v so aaume thes'll fit??
  24. Cheers guys, interesting points. Sound slike just the KR inlet cam needs to be installe then ( I think the exhaust cams are the same on both engines...) I have changed the standard cat for one off a subaru and got powerflow to do the rest of the pipe work so cat should be less restivctive, but thats a wild guess :? I'll check out gas flowing as well, being an "a"series engine boy all this technological gadgetry is a little beyond me  Thanks for the advice guys, much appreciated
  25. Hi everyone, Sort of new to the forum, been visiting for a while now so thought it was time to join up :salute: I've got a 93 16v C with the 9A engine in, a m8 of mine suggested that the best performance upgrade would be to plonk the head from an early 16v (KR) onto my 9A lump, apparently it is a direct swap (injectors, pipework etc etc) I was wondering if anyone on here has done this mod to the late type 16v and what sort of performance difference (if any) did you get? Cheers lads, great forum btw!! 8)
