Any good handling fast-ish to fast car suits me fine. I like my C but i'd have a Scooby no question, I'd also like a Lambo... If someone wants to drive around in a car with loads of add-on tat and a pokey engine then thats fine by me, gives me amusement and some others envy. If someone wants to drive round in a rally car with suspension so hard their brain must be damaged after a long journey on our lovely English roads then again fine by me. I don't see any point in commenting on other people choices when we're all so different..... although I must say the MX-5 is a girls car, which invalidates most of what i have said ;)

Hi Gav, Went up to see Vince at Stealth who after running the car on the rollers had to make up a custom chip to stop it running lean at high revs after I had added the mods listed in my sig. He made a comment that he could not get the mixture any richer via the remap, I got the impression he wanted to get it running richer but could not, I think it is something to do with the current stock fuelling system I have being the reason. I was looking into using an fse PBV to avoid the costly changing to a better fuel management system. I'm running at 153bhp at the mo and some valvers here are running near that as stock, so adding 2+2 to get 5 I think the problem might be the mixture. But if it can't be used on a valver then I can save myself the £80.. NB: My mekanical knodelidge sucks btw :)

Ahhh might be a KE-Jetronic on the 9A... :oops: I've had a remap to get the mixture as rich as it can be configured but its still lean compared to other 9A valvers so was wondering if the FSE PBV would actually get the mixture richer without having to mess with replacing the fuelling system... Not the most mechanically minded so need help.

TBH I'm not 100% sure. But to check for leaks get a can of carb cleaner (and fire extinguisher) and spray around the rubber pipes at the top of the engine and around the air filter while the engine is running. If there is a leak the flammable carb cleaner will be drawn into the engine and cause the revs to increase. The fire extinguisher is just in case... :)

He is the man! :) he'll be able to advise you as your car might benefit from all the mods you've done. One other thing he did was check out the map on my Blitz chip.. he laughed! Showed me that the only messing the chip had on it from standard by Blitz was between 700 and 1700 rpm, making the mixture a tiny bit richer in that rev range... so useful then! lol

Hi All, OK need to get my car running a little bit richer, would an FSE Power Boost valve be any benefit on my 2.0L 16v 9A K-Jet C? I have modded the car a little, see sig for details, but I was wondering if anyone here had any experience of these on a Valver? I've used the search but most peeps have used these on G60's and VR's not the little Valver.... Any advise welcome! Cheers

Hiya Phil, All done now and pleased with the results. He charged £250 +VAT, took about half a day and yup, he had it on the rollers all the time making changes to the chip, testing, making further changes testing etc until he got it as correct as he could. He also advanced the ignition timing. Got the power read outs before and after plus got another 15 BHP out of the ol' girl. You'll probably get more, but my k-jet fuelling system needs to be upgraded I think. I'm running 153 BHP at the fly and 115 BHP at the wheels now. Having a chat with Vince would be your best bet IMO. I didn't initially want to go down this route, but my car was running very lean and was going to damage the engine over time so I had to have this chip put in to prevent problems further down the line, the 15 BHP extra was just a bonus really. This is about money and monitoring, nothing else. The Police will continue to fall down the slippy slope of becoming tax collectors and ultimately lose respect from the public, this will in turn ensight more criminals to go out and do their thing because the Police will not be geared up to handle them, the CPS are already a total waste of time unable to judge even the most clear case. Councils will continue to waste money and make everyones lives miserable when they make errors, which is frequently. This has been going for years and it'll get worse, I've lost respect for the Police and a majority of the law which is sad, I'm a hard working tax payer who causes no proble... no wait a minute I am a criminal!! I went 81 mph on the motorway the other day to avoid a Granny swerving down the M40 at about 60 mph because she could not see the steering wheel!! Yeah I know off topic slightly but this country has th potential to be great, it just takes a few paper pushers and liars to screw it up for everyone, its depressing.

I'm up for a set as well!! Brushed alu would be best for me but I'll take Chrome if a Group Buy gets going :)

My Valver skippd through with no problems the other day as well, very happy with that! 5 yrs of ownership and only 2 MOT fails (bearing and driveshaft). Looks like not taking it to VW for servicing has paid off after all! :)

I found a bifta in my C when i was soundproofing it, result was it took 4 hrs longer to soundproof :) My mate was always finding them in his car, he'd roll a load, hide them about the car and forget all about them. Needless to say when he gave lifts to people there were always volunteers to "share" the fuel...

Now thats a room I'd like a set of keys too....

Isn't the rear number plate reflective? Thats should enable someone to see the car at night... :)

I have the same problem on my valver. I got a "Blitz Chip" of eBay and although the car appeared to run better it was still running too lean. I took it upto Vince at Stealth and he suggested the only way to sort the fueliing out is to have a custom chip made up. Vince is doing my chip in a few weeks, so if you can wait I'll let you know how it went on mine. Alternatively you can have my Blitz Chip off me for £50 and see if that works....

Interesting the Council will action this on the complaints from just 4 people, but do sod all for the thousands who complain about Council Tax increases! Signed and supported!!

Sweet motor there buddy. Shame about the neds who damaged the car. Some people really are oxygen theifs... Good luck getting it fixed (and get a later style grill put on :) )
