what do you all think will happen !!! its running a mk2 gti box and currently hits 65 in second and tops out off the clock on 15" with 50s and i have some 8" x 13" 175 50s go or no go ? :?

Whats the highest ouput (BHP) you can get out of a g60?????

just put a g60 in a mk1 and see it fly 900kg 200lbs torque addios power to weight all the way -
the little ends do go as i found out !!! if it has ran low on oil and had a good run No4 went on my old raddo i went down the knock sensor,timimng avenue,and to no avail........this sounds just like my prob ,i had to have little ends and a set of rings i also put a set of mains in whilst it was appart its not major league difficult just a pain in the asss cheers dale ps . i do hope you arew lucky ( knock sensor ) :roll:

well i am the former owner and let me tell you it needs the timing sorting out as this is the only thing that was not set up !!! as far as performance goes it shows a vr6 raddo a clean pair of heals arounrd town and the motorways you need to learn how to drive the g60 its nothing like a 16v as i found out to my disapointment hence i sold the car now have bought a lotus sunbeam and well i have not driven a car like it ever cheers dale :oops:

Cos a standard G60 clutch won't last very long in a tuned G60 !! it seemed to last well enough in front of you on the way back from the stoke meeting !!!

ay up then lads i was doing 80 at 3500 on the nose thats on 16s with 40s so that aint tooooo bad the car seems to pull alot quicker too so after using the g60 n the mk3 valver the valver wins in my book i used the g60 clutch and set up sweet !!! go on lads treat ya selves 60 plus in 2nd you know it makes sence :D

i will have a look tonight and let ya know revs at 80 ....and yes it was me who bouht the intercooler for 15 quid and knows jody very well from mid vw .... yes andy twas i and yes the valver box is all good but i think i might be sellin the g60 !!!!!! so if ya know anyone with a nice straight 90 spec mk2 thats got a knackered eng let me know and i will do a px on my raddo i am going vr6 ztech charged in a mk2 or i will sell the car outright for approx 3500

well lads its like this the valver box is peachy !!! 63 in second an it pulls and pulls top end straight to 145 no prob along side a twin turbo supra then he just fooooked off !!! doh but yes lads its a good move and a straight swap :wink:

that is all good news as my mates g60 has got a 20v box on and does 67mph in second and pulls like a train to the limiter in all the gears i will know sunday on the way to edition 38 cheers dale :shock:

i am gonna give the valver ratios a go as the box is a dirrect swap !!! i will let you know how i get on and then if all good i will be selling my g60 box :D

i hav been told a mk3 16v box are way better ratios and will get me about the 60plus mark in second !!! any info pls welcomed cheers dale

does anyone know what is my best option to get a little more mph out o f my g60 in 1st n 2nd ie a taller ratio box will a tdi box go on of a mk3 cheers dale

at the end of the day a good mk1 16v will do the lot of us as i used to in mine power to weight is the key and power without control is pointless cheers dale :oops: -

i know it will fit but do i need to fit the vr6 bonnet !!!! if so does any one have one in inca blue ,, my g60 needs pistons x 2 and a crank re grind but i can put a vr in for the same money hahahha so guess what

i seem to have the very same issue myself , i am new to the g60 game and this is my first problem,,i replaced the crank shells as ithought this was the problem but it seems to be a timing issue ( pinking ) i have a jabba stg 4 ,65mm,dcat super sprint ,jabba chip ,and unfortunatley no one seems to know how to set it up in the mids !!!! help cheers dale :wink:

are you sure its not the crank shells as i am hearing this is a rather common problem on the g60 units !!!
