Having replaced the door handle striker I find myself with a very wobbly handle. Trawling through Google I've found a photo at VWVortex.com showing a white plastic insert that is missing from my door. As VWVortex looks to be an american site, I was wondering if there are differences in door specs between continents, or if I really have lost a white plastic insert. I have found nothing in the bottom of the door except the old broken striker. Is this plastic insert a common part to VW or Corrado specific? Photo hopefully attached. I tried to get hold of a door handle over the past couple of weeks but had no joy, as I stripped my thread too. I re-tapped the thread yesterday to standard thread. Seems to work OK with an M6 machine screw borrowed on a permanent basis from work.

So what would be considered a "comfortable" suspension set up? The Bilstein sportline kit fitted about 5 years ago that lowered my car by about 40mm. Although the look was much improved on 15inch standard wheels, I have always found the ride uncomfortably hard on the pot holed roads which seem to be the normal these days. My local garage reckons I need new rear shocks, but everywhere I look on the net seems to sell kits that lower by 40mm again. So, is the best bet going back to VW shocks and if so, what change do I get from £500? Thanks, Graham

Better than that, the allen key is supplied and fitted onto the sunroof motor. :)

They have a hint of the Iron Cross about them. Ideal for a VW staff car.

I dropped my Storm 40mm about 2 years ago and I have to say, it has a far better stance, if slightly firmer than I would have liked. Have kept the original 15" BBS wheels to give it the std look and the higher profile tyres help with some of the iffier roads around the New Forest. I've also had a set of those mats for the past 6 years and still have all the letters. :D That's a great looking car you've got there Rick

I'm not getting a warm feeling about this. I beleive there is a VW specialist in the Chandlers Ford area. Does anyone have any info on this? Might be worth a try.

Would be good to find out where Alan has gone as he is a real enthusiast. Have been taking my VWs down there for last 7 years so it would be a shame if it had gone down the tubes. It was more like going to a club than a garage.

Is there any truth in Autotechnik being under new management? Been out the loop for a bit and need a new exhaust. Fancy a Supersprint which I know they stock but the chap on the link below may put me off a bit. Can anyone help!! Have left my N reg VR6 sitting for a few months and it developed a fault of the horn coming on constantly during driving. Its a bit rude blowing one's horn along the Totton bypass behind an innocent Fiat. It's both horns and it feels fine at the horn end and the only way I can stop it is by pulling the fuse 13. Even pulling off the steering wheel centre does not help. The horn performs normally when pushed. Both relays are clicking away too when I push the horn. Can't see any short but it appears to me to be around the fuse/relay end. Anyone any ideas??

Should I be getting an uprated headlight loom for Christmas? Do they make much difference and if so where should I go to to get one. Does anyone know of a headlight direct replacement? :roll:

Can'y say I've been disappointed with my Bridgestones. Had S02's and then S03's and found them great in the wet. Got them from Micheldever Tyres halfway down the M3.
