Uprated headlight loom. NS Sidelight not working
VeeDub Geezer replied to VeeDub Geezer's topic in Exterior
My bad, it was the drivers sidelight not working and it was because I hadn't connected it to the drivers side plug on the car. Didn't mention it in the instructions! All sorted! -

The headlights are in.pro angel eyes if it makes a difference. -
Please help! In the middle of fitting a Vaggingit loom I bought off a guy on here and the passenger sidelight isn't working! Checked all connections and seem to be fine. Drivers sidelight works fine. Dipped and main are working on both sides. Help! Have I missed something?

Wont turn over just clicking. Does this fusebox need earthin
VeeDub Geezer replied to Powells's topic in Engine Bay
I sanded clean and copper slipped both battery connections and the main battery feed to the starter motor and it fired up first time. Might be worth a try? -

I went out to find ours won't start this morning. I've not touched any wires, just changed all 4 injectors. It started fine after I'd finished and run it up to temp but came out this morning to just a *click* -
The "what I did to my Corrado today" thread...
VeeDub Geezer replied to Jim's topic in General Car Chat
Tried (and failed) to get the car to start. I'm now stumped. -
The green ones? They were already fitted. Went old school and tapped them in with a big screwdriver and hammer on the fuel line nut. It worked!

Is there a trick to it? I'm struggling to get injector 3 and 4 to "pop" in… All seals and top hats were on the original injectors when removed Thanks Aaron

Anyone got a spare Karmann badge for my Mk3 Golf estate?
-
I've got some new injectors to go on the Corrado but before I dive in head first, is there anything else I'll be needing? The injectors I've bought are brand new Bosch (0 437 502 043) with two rubber seals each and what looks to be top hats already fitted.

Painted sunroof panel. Can it be changed?

Thanks guys. Another job added to the to do list! -
I've bought a good second hand sunroof cassette and was wondering if I can change the painted section for mine as it's currently black. Thanks Aaron

2.0 16V 9A Engine Injector Part Numbers
VeeDub Geezer replied to Supercharged's topic in Suppliers Forum
Just what I was looking for... The search works! -
I put on the S2Forum it reminds me of a Corrado. Also said it was the car the new Scirocco should have been (although I also think that of the A5)

Nice! Now I'm proper gutted I missed those nearly new ones on eBay the other month :-(
-
Thanks guys. This was my first thought as I've heard they need refurb/replacement about 120k normally. The hunt is on for salvageable injectors to be sent for ultrasonic cleaning :-)

Morning all, Anyone have any ideas as to what might cause our C to miss-fire when cold? It used to do it for a few seconds after starting but it's slowly getting worse. I now have to hold the revs at 2k for 10-15 seconds for it to clear. After this it's fine and pulls as it should. I've tried unplugging the 5th injector with no change. As it's on cold (and cold-ish) starts I'll assume the lambda won't be to blame. Idle is fine when not miss-firing. It's a 9A with KR head but kept the 9A inlet and injectors. Car's on 120k Thanks Aaron

I'll take 4 please PM me payment details :-) -
Thought I'd take a loom after chatting to you about the de-cat. Very nice bud. I should really put ours in for paint! Enjoying driving it too much at the mo…

Have you got a link to the info on the snorkel/trumpet? They're right about drilling the airbox. My last 3 cars have had drilled airboxes and I really like that it's quiet normally but loud when you're giving it some!
-
There are 2 types fitted to the C (nothing's ever simple is it) I've just noticed the one advertised doesn't have a lambda hole in it. Does yours? From what I've heard removing the trumpet inside the airbox makes a slight difference. Drilling the airbox improves noise more than anything. I think our next 'mod' will be new injectors as these have done 120k now and I've read on here they should really be renewed at about 100k.

Making a de-cat cost about the same as buying one of those eBay ones. The panel filter is just one I picked up at a show. I'd like to drill/modify the airbox and upgrade to a known brand one but she's happy for now so I'll leave it alone. Four branch would be an awesome addition too but not just now for us.
