got my cam belt and tentioner changed yesterday :) the old one was well slack and wasnt firing properlt :( took my girlfreind out in it afterwards and the power increse was great :):):) scared her a little bit lol -well chufed

i used to live in eastbourne --- live in steyning near worthing now---- hows the vr working for u? we all should meet up!

no valve bent!!!! runs beter than ever --- have a water pump gone though i think :( must have lost seals when sitting in the cold:(

will it start if it has a couple of bent valves? ----- what do you think the cost would be to get the head of and replace them - work cost i mean? ps:thanks for being so suportive :) this forum is like a second home lol

does this mean i can get my chip re-maped? a freind of mine had a corrado - same as mine but hi sead you couldnt chip it - consequently swapet it for a 206 2.0ltr which he wrecked a week later-- "what is the man doing??????!!!!!!!!! and if i can get it remaped -do i need na new chip? and what would the outcome be on the betterside like the power gain?

sounds like my problem,,, i have had a dodgey fuel mix - she was running lean so got that sorted but still had the probs ,,,, like when i tried to pull away at the rounderbout and it just spluters - pops abit --- then i pumped the pedel and she jumped forward into normal driving... verry strange. just came back from supermarket and on the way home it hapened abit more and then a bit more untill she wouldnt pick up in anny gear ,,, got her home to find the exaust manifold glowing -ouch. i have now taken out the cambelt cover and the belt is verry loose andhas sliped a tooth:( ... mans going to look at it and c if there is anny more dammage :( :( lets hope not ,,,, aparently i was loosing power because of a timing problem ,,,, im no expert this is just what i was told buy the guys on here. might not be the same prob for you - may just sound the same .n good luck man :onfire:

hi man , i have taken the cover off and the belt is realy slack , also quite old - - have rung a man to change the belt and to do the re-alighning - think she may have sliped a tooth,,,,, im not to shure weather to start her up because the airbox and bits are disatatched so i could get to the belt ----- she doesn't fire up at the mo:( is it ok to try to see if the belt is moveing and if its not does it mean that some damage has been done?

im online right now ,,, plese help if you can?

just cheacked and ditributer is on tight ---- when i turn the key it trys to start but wont ---- then when i turn the key to off there is a ticking going on just the electrick start on a cooker when you hold the button in ?

what could it be if its not the distributer? - i also have found a hairline crack in one of the tubes coming of the manifold (exaust) might be old though

just tried to start her and she doesnt start ,,, advice?

sounds bad but what/were is the distributer? is that near the end of the ht leads,,, as i sead im new to engines lol :oops:

also , whats this about the headlite wiring loom ,,,, im on candel power at the mo :roll:

is it easy to get fixed? , it may have been hapening for a while to a lesser extent so will it have done anny dammage do you think
