dont know if you still need to know this ,just found it searching for a problem on mine ,both mk3's and raddo's are ce2 so if you can get the loom up from the fuse box it will plug right in ,but the foglights wont work of the mk3 switch you still need the raddo one ,if you still want know how to splice it in ill write it down cos i have my car here now

the triangle bit you have mentioned is the water outlet ,it sits on the head ,surely the manifold would have to go round it like the original ,heres a pic.

i had a mk3 gti for a bit ,really nice cars not too quick but enough ,really wish i still had ,ended up set on fire in my mates garage .loved the interior ,seems really sturdy compared to mk2's and corrado's .

could be ignition switch ? dont they still run if the relay is gone ,just goes into safe mode ,i had a mk3 with one gone and it just used more fuel ,only ever cut out once and that was after caning it ,overfuelled and flooded i think .

would that be the releif relay playing up ,dont they all run through that ,think its x relief relay or something like that ?

,been sitting for ages in my friends garage ,needs an abs sensor ,windscreen (cracked it doing the bay) ,plans for the year are a respray ,few bits in the bay to be smoothed and im currently fitting porsche seats,ill post some pics when i get more done ,thanks for asking though

ive got it sat in the car at the mo ,car is off the road ,suppose it could be put on the slam panel or something ,is there rules regarding where there put ?

didn't mean to post that twice ! no i didn't have to weld any thing ,just a skim of filler ,i also removed the sound deadening (i presume) from behind it ,and that was a right b1tch ,also dont forget youll need someway to mount the one wiper bolt ,and somewhere to put the coilpack/coil
