Happened to me a couple of weeks ago.. here's the thread viewtopic.php?f=19&t=99783 might be something useful in there

Its over-priced in my opinion, for £3.5k i'd be wanted leather at least.
-

Doesn't take much to fail at VW. Shame.

I know exactly which one you mean i used to drive past it every day (since about 2002) or so. It gets washed and driven quite regularly from what i remember. When i was getting a new phone about 4/5 years ago in Ashton i was talking to a man in phones4u and somehow this car came up in conversation. He told me that the bloke who owned it worked away alot. I'm not sure about the wheels personally and i think the chin spoiler is painted which i imagine looks good until the grit attacks it.

Was it difficult? Expensive? Just so i'm prepared.

I've got some 3 in 1 oil so i'll give that a go every time i use it and see what happens.

Permission to pick brains.. During the las couple of days this has started to happen. I get in the car (no key required) and put the key in the ignition but when i go to turn it, it won't turn it just sticks. I never put the steering lock on. The first time it happened i was round the corner from a garage i've used before and one of the guys came and had a look. We sprayed some de-icer on it (all i had) and it eventually freed up but i don't think that was down to the de-icer and he reckoned it was to do with the steering lock. It did it again today with both keys. Is there supposed to be some movement of the ignition barrel, as in going inwards? Does anyone know whats causing this? I would remove the plastic and have a look but its just too cold at the moment. Thanks in advance for any ideas. Kate

VR6 Lee - Corrado VR6 Storm Mystic Blue Build thread
moneypit23 replied to VR6 Lee's topic in Members Gallery
Keep it standard and enjoy it for what it is. You could probably buy a V6 4motion (car attached) for less than the conversion anyway. Drive it a bit before you make any decisions. -
N???JYL i think :confused4: dark coloured with speedlines at the hand car wash place near Trent Bridge at about 1.30.

Found this when i was sorting through some stuff.. Nothelle? VR6 review from 1993

Not many details but the reg ended PVW going through the lights on Loughborough Rd/A60 about half eight tonight.

I guess i'll fill up then rather than the usual splash n dash.

The "what I did to my Corrado today" thread...

'What Jonathan did to my Corrado today' Changed my wiper blades and yes, they are now much quieter thank you  x -
I think some old fiestas used to use them and we briefly looked at them at uni. Apparently they 'whine' and you don't get that feeling of a definite gear change because of the infinite ratios. Never driven one though.

9a decat - practicality, functionality, driveability.
moneypit23 replied to Bazmcc's topic in Engine Bay
I noticed a much better throttle response after having a powerflow (decat) fitted, never had a power increase confirmed though. It did need the cat put back in for the MOT and that became an issue but i think that was due to the shoddy powerflow workmanship. -
We saw a blue J-reg yesterday (sunday) turning onto the embankment off the A60 at about 2.15pm. We were staring at you as we waited to cross the road. You may have thought we were a bit strange :D

VR6 dry sump system Dissertation (R&D Project)
moneypit23 replied to boost monkey's topic in Engine Bay
How about a single cylinder 4 stroke motorbike engine? My 125 was desperately short on power and the engines should be pretty cheap. You probably know this already but it you don't want to unnecessarily over-complicate your project because it will eat your soul and you will rather lick the inside of a bin truck than finish it. That might just have been my experience of final year projects but yours sounds more interesting than mine was: 'Characterising the surface topography of novel cylinder bore roughness' It still sends shivers.. -

moneypit23 replied to VR6 Lee's topic in General Car Chat
I'm pretty sure thats the first time anybody has ever said that :) You got AA right? Only joking, welcome to the club of empty pockets.
