  1. I have a 93 valver (9A) . Should I have an Air/Vacuum hose going to the ECU ? Also how do you get the wiring plug to disconnect? and will this cause me any problems by disconnecting and then reconnecting ? Cheers
  2. I am thinking of buying an R32 Golf. I am also thinking of buying a Corrado Vr6 with high mileage and transplanting with an r32 engine and six speed box. Any Ideas/ guestimations on how much the latter would cost (minus price of car) or if it is possible? Cheers
  3. I just fitted new rear pads to my C. Both the Pistons were fully out. When I wound them both fully in, the level in my brake fluid resevoir did not move ! Where did this fluid go ??? (P.S. It didnt go on the floor)

Thx for info Jimmy !! :wink: I will change this sensor as a matter of course. bcstudent I have recently replaced leads, lambda, fuel&oil filter, dizzy cap,air filter, and none has made any difference. It is so annoying when you don`t know what it is.... aaaaaarrg The car runs really well if anything a bit faster and pulls better early on in the rev range. It may be timing or fuel delivery valve or injector related or something beyond my means to investigate........ I think I might have to book it into Stealth for a health check-up. P.S. Yes it is 15 gallon tank
  5. I get about 280 out of a tank with mainly motorway miles ! Is this the sensor with one wire or the four wire one ? P.S. 2 litre

  7. My valver Starts fine but when cold it stutters and judders at low revs whilst driving .All is fine as soon as it is warmed up . Is this over fuelling as my car tends to drink a lot of juice aswell. Any pointers as to what it may be? And yes I have used the search .......... Cheers

  11. Hello Chay ! Welcome to the forums. My car is doing exactly the same Im averaging 280 on a tank with mainly motorway mileage ! Stevemac which temperature sender is it ? As far as I am aware I have one which has one wire coming from it and another which is for the temp gauge (does this one also do anything else as it has four wires) Cheers P.S. Chay I am not sure if CO means Carbon Monoxide reading or Carbon Dioxide (which is CO2)

  13. Having had my 160 fitted two months ago I am very happy with it. Some useful things I discovered: (Some of these may have been covered earlier) You cannot disable or change the length of the auto immobiliser. But once it has armed, instead of arming and dis-arming, which can be very annoying you can: TURN THE IGNITION KEY SO THAT IGNITION LIGHTS ARE ON THEN PRESS THE BUTTON ON YOUR KEY FOB. THIS WILL DISABLE THE IMMOBILISER. Also the anti-hijack mode will NOT work on your Corrado. You will notice that if enabled when you start the car the car will try and engage the central locking but "Give up". Also when switching off ignition the car central locking trys to unlock an already unlocked car. This is due to a feature built into the Corrados ECU and I think maybe the same for all UK Volkswagens. I am aware that Autowatch are looking into this........ P.S. If you do have one of these alarms fitted go for the courtesy light option as it is a really nice touch !!!!

  15. Thx for comment guys ! I changed cap, rotor looked ok. I never did change the leads though.... bought some but they did not have the adaptors on the end and were too short so I couldnt fit them ........ will buy a new set anyone recommend some good ones I got a GSF in town .
  16. Hello all ! First of all the 16v(9A) does not have a MAF ? it is VR only I think. The story is this .... in the summer I gave my car a decat and a service then took it to vince for a RR sesh and it pumped out 147 BHP and vince said it was ok. All was good it ran like a dream I am very happy chappy.( Thx Stealth!) My car has always been a drinker but LATELY..... It has started to drink more and I am noticing that sometimes when I put my foot down it really pulls and other times it seems a bit gutless, lacking something. In the summer I replaced plugs, fuel filter, air filter, oil, Lambda probe, oil filter. Can any of you please let me know what you think it might be? The only fault codes I can find with vag-com is abs sensor !!

    Ok before I get stuck in can you help me with these Easy questions? Can I jack up under this? What size A/F are these Meant to be? And can anyone point out on here where abouts I can attach an engine lift or where I can strap so I can lift the front of the car ? (The rear is up on ramps) Cheers

  21. My C has been making some really annoying and embarrasing "rattles" from the under side of the car since I had it and the petrol consumption is still getting worse. I have bought a new lambda sensor and was wondering wether it was worth going the de-cat route .Having spoken to someone at powerflow he advised me that the cat bypass had to be welded so I could not switch with my old setup at M.O.T. Is there a way round this? If I decided to play it safe is the "High Flow" Cat a waste of space gimmick or is it worth it being as I am planning on sticking in a KR inlet cam later on? Can I expect to see an improvement in performance? Cheers guys......
