Hi guys.... have a mk2 2.9 vr6.....as i went to start the car today there was a very quick fairly loud ticking noise coming from relay number 109...pulled it out and back in then stopped....however its come back but as soon as i turn car on noise goes.....is it just a faulty relay...or anything else.... as always any help and advice very much appreciated. thanks!!!

Hi guys...got mesen a mk2 golf with a 2.9 vr6 lump...over the past few weeks the idling is starting to play up...for example 1 minute the cars idling spot on then it would start to rev up to around 1000rpm sometimes slightly over...it will come back to normal once i give it some revvege...ive put the car on vagcom and it saying no faults....any ideas what else could be causing this stupidness...ISV??? as always ...all help and advise much appreciated.
  4. hi----at the moment in me mk2 golf gti when the car is cold i have no power steering when turning the steering wheel clockwise, it works fine when turning anti clockwise, eventually when the cars warmed up it seems to work ok, but now and again will go back to no power steering when turning clockwise......just wondering whats at fault- is ot the steering rack or pump......many thanks in advance....!!
  5. Hi all----i have a mk2 golf with a 2.9 vr6 lump----engine has been in the car for around 3 years ----and since the birth ive always used quantum gold oil------should i continue using this or are there any others i should try out that may be better?? thanks in advance!!! cheers!!

Hi guys--got a mk2 vr6 (corrado lump)---recently when pressing the accelerator the car is making a very weird rattling/knocking sound it seems to be coming from the small block to the left of the engine where i believe one of the vacuum pipes goes into--this block is right next to the MAF----any ideas what this could be guys??? many thanks as always

Hi guys----have a mk2 2.9vr6----over the past month or so that car keeps blowing the 30amp fan fuse----it has been over a few weeks, however replaced it on friday and its gone again today----2 days----also had the fan switch changed a month ago---i have noticed since changed fuse on friday that the fan seems to be on a lot more than normal-----anyone have any idea what this could be, and anything i can do to check-----thanks guys!!!! :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

  10. hey guys in me mk2 vr6.....when starting the car on a fairly cold morning for first few minutes when driving the car it feels very lumpy as tho its not running on all 6 cylinders......as soon as the car warms up its fine.....any idea what this could be...possible spark plugs???? thanks in advance.... :lol: 8) :D :) :lol: 8) :D :) :lol:

Hey guys....got a mk2 vr6...over past few days starting the car when its cold on ignition it struggles slightly as tho the battery is dead...eventually it will start but all the clocks are reset....any idea what this could be guys....battery, alternator, starter motor?? any advice much appreciated as always.. thanks.
  12. hey guys thank for the replies so far.....yeah fan does kick in about 90-95.....just been in the car noe left in on for 20 mins ..fan came on and off but temp stayed at normal place....at 90...where it should be...so fingers crossed she seems fine again now.....wonder what that could have been...will monitor her and see hoe she goes. thanks a mill guys :lol: :D :) :lol: :D 8) 8)
  13. thermostat was only changed probably about 3-4 months ago....water pump ...hmmm still running the original vr6 one since the conversion i believe mate....

Hey guys, got a mk2 golf with a 2.9 vr6 lump........ on stop start journey like stuck in the city for example.....oil temp hits 104+ which i suppose ain't too bad...however the water temperature starts to rise towards the 100 mark which aint normal.....so even with the fans on the water temp still rises ...and yesterday it had blown the radiator fuse so i thought right fair enough got a new fuse from main dealers and seemed fine until this morning as i was stuck in traffic and fans came on as normal but water temp rised to 110.....any idea what could be wrong here.....a bit of history if it helps.....head gasket was changed about 3 weeks ago. cheers guys any help much appreciated as always. :( :( :(

Hey guys...a mate of mine just done a vr conversion into a mk2 golf....all seems fine except the idling on the car is very unstable...on tickover the revs constantly keeps going up and down....thinking it could be the MAF have tried a new Maf but its still idling up and down.....could this be a fault with the idle stabilisation valve?? any help much appreciated as always Thanks :lol: :lol: :lol:

Hi guys....got a mk2 golf with a 2.9 vr6 lump in....need to change the head gasket as the current one went yesterday...just wondering should i go for a standard gasket or are there any better ones i could go for, or ive heard about using 2 standard ones instead of one....appreciate any suggestions and advice. many thanks in advance.. cheers all!!!!! :D :lol: :D :lol:

    engine mount??

    hey guys..got a mk2 golf vr6.....front vibratechic engine mount has just dropped dead....so needing a new engine mount, i have been told to go for a golf mk2 gtd engine mount as they are just as strong and good and a fraction of the price....anyone heard of this and would recommend it, or should i just go for another vibratechnics vr6 mk2 front mount?? cheers in advance :D :lol:

  20. shoot...we have a slight prob....the top screw on the plastic cover has worn away so the alan key cant grip anything its just goin round and round....is there any way around this???

  23. hey guys, had the car on vag com which advied me the engine cam sensor is faulty, just wondering how to change it and where its located...all i know is that its near the coil pack...any help is much appreciated..thanks :(

Hey guys...got a mk2 golf with a 2.9 vr6 lump.....over past few days car seems to have lost a bit of power...and this morning the water temp level which is normally dead set in the middle has been rising towards 100...not good....the fans dont kick in at all....and also the top of the engine like the inlet manifold is very hot u can barely touch it...this aint normal at all as normally even after a good thrashing it never gets this hot....what a weekend for me car to get poorly....any help is greatly apreciated.....thanks all......happy easter !!
  25. hey guys....currently on me mk2 vr6 i have a BMC CDA airbox..thinking of getting a bmc twin conical filter too.....for the sound more then anything else....anyone here had this device...what do u think? cheers !!!
