Saw this in the Sunday Times driving section yesterday: 1992/K VOLKSWAGEN Corrado aqua blue 22,800 miles £17,500 Northern Ireland I assume it's a VR6 although it doesn't say, lowest mileage I've seen but surely that's about £5k too much??

I'm looking at my 1995 Corrado brochure and spec list and it says: Fuel grade, minimum: 8v 95RON 16v 95RON VR6 98RON I alway try to use Super but it is usually only 97RON anyway so still below the minimum recommended by VW..
-
I would agree with Kev, I had my 2.0 16v for a year before getting the VR6 - I would never go back now but I am glad I experienced it and now I can fully appreciate the difference!

I am thinking about lowering my 95 VR6 by 30mm I am wondering if this would result in the car being 30mm lower than the original pre 94 ride height, or 30mm lower than my post 94 ride height?

I had 132 yesterday through London traffic in the sun I use fully synthetic though, will probably change to semi next time

Andy Brookes's Satin Silver VR6, its last journey...boohoo
AND7 F replied to Andy Brookes's topic in Members Gallery
Silver is definitely the way forward, Don't think I'd have any other colour now.. -
I was quoted 320 fitted by Mr Clutch - that's using genuine VAG parts
-
From the post above it would seem that they came in Jasmine Yellow I've never seen this colour, anyone have any pics?
-
I am looking for a set, how much are you after?
-
I agree they're not as nice as normal Speedlines, must be good for rarity value though..
-
Aren't they the optional Brands Hatch alloys?
-
Funniest / most offensive I've seen was some massive black geezers in a brand new gold M3 cab with the plate UPR1X
-
Definitely a bargain I'd hang on to it for as long as you can, in 10 years or so when mint Storms are proper classic cars it should be worth 4 or 5 times that
-
How about £400 + VAT + buyer's premium ?? Looks like a bargain to me compared to the other storm plates, esp as it has the latest possible year letter C 57ORM would be good too.. 57 ORM £4,000 Sold in Dec 2001 E57 ORM £550 Sold in Apr 2005 N57 ORM £400 Sold in Feb 2006 ORM 3S £1,300 Sold in May 2003 ORM 58Y £900 Sold in Dec 2005 S7 ORM £14,200 Sold in Jan 2002

I've just been to see the grey / beige leather / aircon VR6 and in addition to the dealer being a bit unfriendly and unhelpful the car has the following faults: Mileage is 125000 not 120000 as advertised Sunroof doesn't slide 4 or 5 bits of rust around arches / doors have been badly touched up Hole in the drivers side door card leather Full VWSH but not a single receipt to back it up - just stamps I was going to try and get him down on the price but I think I'll just leave it.. I am also looking for a VR6 with leather and aircon if anyone has one but it has to be silver, grey or black Cheers, Andy

After spending ages trawling throught the exhaust threads I think I have found the right place for my cat question... I have a Magnex on my 94 2.0 16v and the cat is making a terrible rattling noise for the first 20 mins or so until it warms up A trip to my local Kwik Fit and I was quoted 300 just for a replacement cat, I thought this was a bit much and wondered if there are any other options I was thinking of de-catting and then putting it back for the MOT but is that out of the question now? Am I right in thinking it would make it faster but louder? (It's already a bit loud for my liking) Is there anything else I need to know if I go down this route? Or do you know where I can get a replacement cat for a decent price? I was also thinking about replacing the whole exhaust with a standard unit as the Magnex is the only non-standard bit on the car - how much would this set me back and do you think it's a good idea to do it all at the same time? Cheers for your help, Andy

Can someone recommend a number plate manufacturer that will change the numbers to look like letters etc. I don't want any silly fonts just normal style text but slightly modified, or even the "old style" font before they brought in the new standard font for the 51 plates All I can find online is rudeboy 3D or brush stroke stlyes.. Here is how it looks at the moment:

Sanj if you are in East London the place that did mine was JC Motors (LDM) 18 Arbitus st E8 4DT - 020 7249 9414 the belt was £19, tensioner £24 and with labour and vat came to £150 it's a VW specialist with a diagnostic computer and an old camper van inside which doubles as the office...
-
Of the car obviously. Not the cambelt...
-
Cheers for the advice guys - had the cambelt and tensioner done for £150. The guy said they should last for 60k. Will post some pics when I get my camera sorted! Andy
-
OK - thanks, I'll book it in now!

Hi - I have just bought a 94 2.0 16v in satin silver with a genuine 68000 on the clock - it's my first Corrado and I am after a bit of advice I'm sure I've read somewhere that the cambelt change is due at 70000 but I can't be sure - can somebody help me out please? I've looked throught the service history and it hasn't been done yet Any advice would be appreciated - Cheers, Andy
