  1. OK, as some of you may know (but most won't  ) I work for BMW so get a good deal on driving their cars.

I.e. Z4 for 300 a month including services, tyres (importantly! as they have a habitof eating them), insurance etc or a Mini Cooper (cue Girls car jokes...) for about 230 a month.

Well my problem is that I have my cars as hobbies but with a new car they'res nothing to do so want to come back to the VW scene.

So...... do I let my girlfriend have my work car, sell her Nugget Valver and use the money to buy (part-buy) either a VR6 or a last of line Mk2 GTI?

Has anyone else gone from having new cars to old cars? Was it too much of a shock to the system?

    Any advice welcome?

Thanks for taking the time to read my drivvel!!

    Adam

  3. Hi

My girlfriends C is a bit poorly, the electric window 'roller' (its made of white plastic) keeps popping off the scissor-type mechanism.

Is there a way of stopping it doing this as everytime it pops off I get moaned at and have to sort it.

Its seems as though the runner is just worn, would it be possible to put a nut and bolt through the roller/mechanism to hold it all together.

Also 'someone' in the cars past has taken the electric windows out and so they aren't held in correctly and the wires, I think aren't run correctly.

So does anyone have a picture for me? Door minus doorcard and plastic?

    Thanks in advance

    Adam

  4. Hi

Hope someone can help, the girlfriends 1989 valver has suddenly forgotten to how to idle.

Wouldn't start first off (had to use a little bit of gas) then ran but idle is really low (around the 500 rpm mark)

As you can imagine the engine is bucking all over the place at that low RPM!

We went on a decent journey yesterday (around 50 miles) and it was flawless, started on the button each time. I actually commented on it! (Maybe i've jinxed it  )

Any ideas whats caused it? And more importantly how to fix it?

    Thanks in advance

    Adam

  5. Hi

My girlfriends valver has developed a habit of the oil pressure light flashing every so often, only happened a couple of times.

The engine is quite young at 78,000 miles so shouldn't have much wear so could this be down to a sender problem?

Do I just need to replace it? What does it look like?

    Thanks in advance

    Adam

  6. Hi

I've painted the wing on the Corrado now and was wondering how it should be finished off.

It was done with Aerosols (sp?) but its come out really well.... Really happy.

But now I need to fisnish it to a good shine so.....

I gather that Ihave to leave it a week or so to fully harden but what do I do after that?

i.e. what grit wet and dry should I use? Which cutting compounds? etc etc

    Its a solid, non-metallic btw

    Thanks in advance

    Adam

  7. Thanks for all the suggestions guys.... Just so hjappens there is a scirocco being broken down the road so i'll give that a go. If not a golf seat.

    Thanks

    Ad

Oh yeah the repair i'm doing is because the frame of the drivers side bolster has broken, just need time to get it apart so it can be welded.
