Took these off my new mk2 when I went back to steelies, 195 45 R16 tyres have all got tons of meat on them, two of them look nearly new. A bit of curb rash and a little scuffing on the edge of the rear tyres where they've just been touching the rear arch trims. Looking for £175, collection from Abington, South Cambs.

Spot on mate, give me a shout if you go astray. I'll probably be outside playing with my mk2, you'll see it as you turn into Mortlock.
-
Baubles, sorry mate thought Tues was the 13th! Can do any day next week apart from the 13th, 12.30 will be perfect though.
-
Ah midday to 1pm I can do, any day this coming week apart from Tuesday.

Any time today will be fine, alternatively weekdays after about 5pm although live about 5min from work so I can dash home if needs be. I'll pm you my address now.

Recently picked up a mk2 Golf GTI which had a pair of Corrado front seats, didn't like the low-slung seating position so I've gone back to the stock seats and the 'rado seats are up for grabs. They're the dark grey/black cloth type with green tints in the panels, the sides are vinyl which I believe means they're from an early Corrado. Fabric could do with a clean but it's un-ripped, the lower boltster on the driver's seat has sagged but the upper one is ok. Great if you're restoring an early car and your seats are shagged. After £30 for the pair, collection from Abington, South Cambs.

Pleasure doing business with you Junkie!

I remember when it hit $1.99 a gallon when I was living in Cincinnati in 2001, there was uproar! You should've seen the look on their faces when I told em how much we paid for petrol. Then I moved to Oklahoma where it was £1.08 a gallon. At those prices even running my 472cu in (7.8 litre) Cadillac wasn't too painful!

one point twenty one gigawatts!!!!!!

Ahhh guttog, was pretty much on the way too. It's probably for the best....the old fella would've gone skitz if he found out I was buying more "sodding volkswagens", especially since I'm skintog at the mo. Yeah, I should really pay the mortgage first!
-
Ah well, that's that then. Bidding's gone past what I was looking to spend. However, cheers for the advice peeps....at least I know what I can get away with now.

Isn't there a limit on how much MOT you've gotta have left to re-tax the car? Like if it's got less than a month left then you've gotta have a re-test before you can tax it? The guy's e-mailed back to say it's booked in for an MOT tomorrow, fingers crossed it passes. I can feel an itch in my bidding finger!! Anyways, for anyone who's interested, according to several sources there's no limit to the distance you can drive to get the vehicle MOT'd provided you are going to a pre-arranged appointment and you have sufficient insurance cover. The consensus is that you'll fare much better should you be stopped if you've got written evidence of your MOT appointment and your cover note to hand.
-
Will defo bear that in mind, cheers fella. Thanks for all the responses, I'll keep you posted on what happens. Just e-mailed the chap to see if there's any chance of it getting MOT'd before I go to collect it (that's assuming I win the auction!!). If I go up with a cover note, I should be able to tax it there and then yeah?
-
Ha ha, yeah true dat!
-
Aye, that's deffo an idea, not sure what happens if the car fails tho. I'll give the guy a shout and see if he thinks it's do-able. Cheers fella.

Hello peeps, I wonder if I could pick your brains? I'm really interested in buying a car off ebay, however the mofo hasn't got any tax and has less than a month's MOT left. Unfortunately trailering isn't an option due to that lack of a suitable towing vehicle. I know you're allowed to drive an un-taxed vehicle on the road provided that you are on your way to a pre-booked MOT appointment. However, I'm sure I also heard somewhere that you should really go to the nearest available testing station. Thing is, the car's in Brighton and I'm in Port Talbot, South Wales so if you do have to take the car to the nearest MOT station then I'm goosed. Does anyone know for definite where the law stands? I've had a good furtle around the net and couldn't find anything on the limits to this rule. Cheers in advance, Chris

Differences between G60 02a box and KR 16v 02a box?
MillSpeed replied to MillSpeed's topic in Drivetrain
What an awesome little tool, cheers for that! Yeah, there's a story behind me having an ATA. Was rummaging round a scrap yard in oklahoma when I found a mangled G60. The bloke let me have the whole car for $300 so I stripped the engine and running gear out and shipped it home. This was back when G60 engines were still commanding a relatively high premium. I kinda feel duty bound to do something with it after all the effort me and my uncle went to getting the bugger shipped to the UK. -

Hmmm, I have a US spec ATA box. No idea if that's a good or a bad thing, I really need to get to grips with ratios! Actually the only difference between the ATA and the ATB is the final drive......3.684 in the ATA vs. 3.450 in the ATB. -
Sh*t man, can you imagine the sort of morons that drive these 'rados? Thing is, the WKD supping plebs no doubt think they look awesome..."ow, mosh ow, av ewe seen my Corrado? It's fu*kin nutz. I dun a years worth of dole money on this badboy!" That Corrado dragster on the other hand is gert lush, apart from the colour scheme.
