  1. As soon as my mate rings me back I'll give you a shout. Ha ha! Just read in your sig about the horrible induction thing! It wouldn't be a 'ractive' carbon effect cone filter type jobbie would it? Cannot believe that's still on there, sold it to my mate for a tenner and he just sort of stuck it on the end of the flexi pipe coming out of the charger.
  2. I think it had around 120k on the clock. Sounds like it, Jen's sister is called Cath, ring any bells? The charger came off an accident damaged US car that had an indictaed 43k miles on the clock. I've still got the motor it came off, I'm currently in the process of building it back up and turbo'ing it. It will eventually go into my 16v Rado.
  3. I've currently got a 16V in my Rado, but will be fitting a G60 turbo. Is the 16V rad narrower than the UK spec G60 rad? I've got a US spec G60 rad which is massive.
  4. No, his name's Darren. I know it's gone through a few hands since he had it, including one of my other mates Jen. It was defo a J reg, same colour too. The charger had new bearings and apex seals and some pretty extreme porting.
  5. I think I do recognise her, trying to get hold of my mate who (I think) used to own that car. If it is the same one then I built that super charger! Yep, in Port Talbot at the mo, but grew up in Dinas Powys.
  6. Is the outlet hose held on by two jubilee clips sort of connected together? That charger is looking very familiar! Whereabouts in wales are you?
  7. Do you know roughly how much boost that sprinter IC will take? I liked the look of the cossie 'cooler because it had a really thick core and welded end tanks.
  8. Holy Sheeite, that thing's HUGE! I was thinking about either going for a Cossie 4x4 intercooler or a Landrover Defender TD5 intercooler. How hard was it to move the radiator? The fan shroud sits awfully close to the fron engine mount. Did you ditch it and mount pushers instead?
  9. Holy Shizzle! It's a good job you told me to check my valve timing, the cams were 1 tooth advanced! That was my fault too, God only knows why I missed that one, school boy error! So there we have it, proof that a 16v will run (surprisingly well) with the valve timing a tooth out. Set the advance to 6 degrees and she's running nice now. However, from time to time it'll feel really under-powered and then all of a sudden it'll just clear. It's especially noticable on acceleration, one second it's as flat as a pancake and the next it's pulling like a train! Think I might get a new fuel filter and run some redex through the injectors.
  10. NOS stands for Nitrous Oxide Systems....it's a brand name, like Nitrous Express. NOx is just a general term for nitrous compounds.
  11. Really? I wouldn't have thought there was enough piston to valve clearance for the engine to run a tooth out. Will defo check this weekend.
  12. Mine was pinking quite badly so I retarted the ignition a tiny bit at a time until the pinking stopped. She's still having problems starting though which makes me think it's still too adavnced. Was going to set it to 6deg on account of the fact that I run it on regular un-leaded.
  13. Think mine's a tad too advanced....going to get the strobe on it this weekend.
  14. Think I'm gonna give it a try and see how it feels, seeing as I've got a manual rack in stock. Do you know if the shaft that connects the steering column to the rack is the same length in manual and P/S cars?
  15. Just wondering if anyone's done this? I'm in the process of turbo'ing my G60 and I'm trying to clean the front of the engine up as much as possible by using a standard 8v alternator, brackets and pulleys. I'm trying to decide whether I should attempt to track down all of the bracketry necessary to retain the power steering or just fit the manual rack I've got in the parts cave and have one less thing to go wrong (plus one less thing for the engine to turn). Plus I've had the crank, flywheel and crank pulley race balanced so bolting on a power steering drive pulley is probably going to upset things a bit. The steering on my Mk2 GTI was quite light but obviously the corrado is a lot fatter. Is there anyone out there running thier rado's minus power steering and if so, how are you finding it?
