  1. Not yet, been out of the country for awhile after being made redundant, and am going to need a job first.
  2. Just saw a late silver C on bigger wheels driving past KFC in Cambridge around 20 mins ago, would that be you dinkus? :)
  3. Grey late C Northbound on M11 around 10am, not hanging around in the fast lane. Didn't see much else of it as I was southbound in the fast lane! :)
  4. Yep, your right, and what an achievement they have made! Would absolutely love one of those... *dreams* :)
  5. Hmm, tried the old controller but the pump still no longer runs with the ignition on, which could have fixed it as it seems from various peoples feedback the pump sometimes runs, and sometimes doesn't when the ignition only is on whilst cold :? Going to take it to a professional to get sorted, I've reached the limit with my tools and expertise (or lack of it :) ) I'll update this thread with what it turned out to be.
  6. Soooo glad I saw that, like what someone mentioned in the original thread 'the best episode of one of the best shows', what a piece of engineering! £4 million each, sold each at a loss of £3.2 million!! VW technical exercise eh? There must be some interesting related features on cars in the pipeline hopefully :D
  7. Top Gear Veyron episode about to be repeated on BBC2 for those who missed it (like myself).
  8. More problems with the system, since replacing the yellow temp sender, fuse 13 kept blowing, and the last time it blew I think some damage was done as the aux pump doesn't run when the ignition is on anymore, which it used to regardless of whether fuse 13 is present :( The last time it blew I noticed, I was in traffic, and saw the interior illumination dim for a second before the fuse popped, so something is happening at the point a certain water temp is reached to blow the fuse. Got a nasty feeling something may have happened to the new fan controller for this to happen. Am going to try plugging the old one back in, but leaving fuse 13 disconnected (just in case it damages the old controller) to see if that brings back the aux pump. This cooling system is a complicated beast :)
  9. I'm guilty of all of the above as well :D Even if I was loaded, I would keep the 'Rado! Love the drive, the look of it, the comfort, the looks it gets, and the subtle class it has, not to mention that sweet VR engine :luvlove:
  10. Ah, well spotted  Soz KarmannVR6,
  11. Minor update, found out today fuse 13 had blown (horn and after run - must of been all that clicking after the new temp sender went in). Replaced, only for it to blow again. Replaced again, and seems to be ok after using the car quite alot today, I think the first replacement blew because I fitted it with the ignition on... doh  Not a good idea. Luckily it's a lesson learnt an easy way :D
  12. I had this exact problem not long ago. New front discs fixed it, and it's alot nicer to drive because of it. :) Could be worth putting a wanted post up.
  13. I recently changed one of these sensors and didn't need to drain the system. Had the new sensor prepared with the O ring, removed the horseshoe clip that holds it in, did a quick pull of the old one and push in the new one, then replaced the horseshoe clip that holds it in place. Reconnected plug, filled the expansion tank with the small amount that was lost and voila. Saves ££ on G12+. On the other hand if your system could do with flushing, you may as well go the whole hog. Either way keep your eye on coolant levels for the next few days after to make sure the fit is snug.
  14. Thanks for the help and advice everyone gave btw, it was much appreciated
  15. Whoohoo, new temp sender unit fixed the problem! :D After fitting it I turned the ignition on and off and it still clicked. I then let the car run to the temp fan stage 1 comes on, and which point there was lots of random clicking, before it came on. It cooled, the fan turned off, then I let it get to that temp again, at which point it came on without any clicking, and now when the ignition is switched off there is no clicking, and the after run comes on according to temp! Strange :? not that I'm complaining :)
  16. Yes still have the old controller, what part number is displayed across the side of yours as some of them differ?
  17. Spoke to Vince (who has loads of VR6 experience), and he recommended changing a temp sender, which I just picked up today from the local dealers. Will let you know if it fixes the problem  Did you get to the end of the fuse blowing conundrum?
  18. I'm intetersted, if they are OE.
  19. Not any more, bought one off someone on here a while back. I remembered the quote from the dealers ages ago before I knew about this forum, and the shock it gave me (and the parts chap as well!), thanks all the same
  20. Standard ride height, too high! The dreaded VW 'Corrado Tax'. (£120 for the fuse box cover!!) The proneness of the fog lights to cracking. Still, unless I was rich I wouldn't change it for any other car, and even then, I'd most likely keep it for 'certain occasions' :D
  21. Thanks all, it turned out to get the parts (H&R Springs to be specific) through Stealth was the cheapest option in the end, it's good to know they are good though, as they were the next cheapest.
  22. "The authorities will study new technology that can target motorists who travel at the busiest times, charging them up to £1.34 a mile." http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0, ... 83,00.html
  23. Not yet, was going to try tomorrow, I'll post the outcome ;)
  24. Thinking of ordering a set of H&R springs from these, has anyone had any experience ordering from them, and are they any good as a supplier? http://www.europerformance.co.uk Thanks
  25. I'll be interested in these....
