sorry if i put it the wrong place i didnt know where to place it but no its rusty by where it bolts on to the chassis and belive me its rotton i can break it up with my hand my dealer said mk2 golf are different and corrado ones cost £860.47 + vat (late c £910.47 +vat) might scrap yet if i cant find one hopefully will to good to scrap

cheers mate any body else got a 16v with abs early

so can you get 256 brakes with abs as i thought you only got abs with 280 brakes and thats what i have no my does not look like that he he its alot of work to put abs in a car plus if somebody has put it in they have done a bloody good job

can anyone help me i have a corrado1990 16v 1.8 and took bumper off tonight to find front cross member is tottaly rotton and on its very very last lets to unsafe to drive does any cross member fit as i have been told that i need an early one as the power steering pipe goes through it or can i just put a new hose in as i swear my last corrado didnt have it please help me as it is hopefully getting resprayed this weekend thats if i get a cross member (hoping trickys is not rotten)

sorted it people my rack was made in japan and was a very werid one just got a rack of a mate from a broken G60 swapped the ends to a mk3 golf and jobs done sweet now

if the late interiors were 92 onwards i dont know whats happened as the looms in the car have not been cut and changed plus the loom for the mirrors are different on late to early same as window switches so they have changed the loom when chaning the interior why would somebody do that also why is the spare a 14" when it wont fir the front if i get a flat tyre as its got 280 mm disks as standard or do they make a 15" space saver cheers people

cheers chap i will try that i phoned steve at c&r and he was very puzzled by it but i am taking the rack off tomorrow to investergate

its definatley a 1990 thats what the chassis number says and mine is a early one as the dealer says its a model k and they change on a model M which is 1991/92 its a bit of a puzzle to me but still getting around it lus it aint been converted as loom is still in oringinal condition i aint got service book but all old mots etc i have changed the engine as the one was in it the big ends went as been abused

can any one help i have just done the five stud conversion but the tie rods for the rack are not long enough the mk3 ones are longer but my rack is old style as it has male threads on rack and not female like g60s/vr6 have i got to change my rack do you think to a g60 as mine is a 16v 1990

has any body else had this trouble. I have had three corrados all 1.8 16v all G reg. I have had a lot of trouble with this car and replaced most things as had been abused when brought it . but had the fuel pump go a little while ago but instead of being in the normal place under the car it had just one in the fuel tank and ordered from stealers and they gave me the wrong one, so i told them it was the wrong one and they said that is the only one for the car. so went home and rang through the part number and it came up as a vr6 pump 1993 onwards and the parts bloke at stealers could not understand plus it had been discontinued so had to buy sender as well total bill £197.67 . then at the weekend i brought some new abs sensors at £103 +vat and they are the wrong ones and had to give part number again for them to get right part lucky for me they they were only £40 but again for a 1993 onwards but its a 1990 car i have hpi this car and it came up clear apart from a private number plate being put on also it has all extras heated leather, abs, 70 litre fuel tank , late spec interior with switchs has any body else had this trouble

no i aint taking power off the starter no plus its only does it some times even before i fitted my head light loom sounds like its back feeding to me and going somewhere

any body else had this problem i put my headlights on and i turn my ignition off and the car stays running untill i turn headlight off i brought a new ign switch and headlight switch from stealers and is still the same any one know i am going to check my loom weekend to see if any faulty connections

the toad alarms are anit jack so when your car is running the car will lock and when you turn the engine off it will unlock this is standard on toad alarms also your alarm only beeping once is correct and if it beeps more than once it means there is not something closed or interior light has been turned off as it relies on interior light for the alarm to work in a way only know this as i did use to fit toad alarms hope that helps

if you get the loom from the late on change the complete wiring loom just from down by foot well and its just all plug and play the mk3 golf use an extra wire as i wspent ages trying to slove this problem and was using my mates vr as a test vehicle and it was different but got a new drivers loom and been working ever since hope thats some help

i had trouble with dealer giving me the right one :x and was stripping my corrado when i noticed the clip that holds the clutch pedal in does a better job than the circlip you have to cut a little bit with side cutter but works a treat :lol:

the looms are £200 from vag i brought one off ebay but only half he said you only needed three wires to wire up . there was no way you can wire up with three wires and had to by front half of loom which was £57 +vat :shock: but the earth is by the relay and you have to feeds i think one is illum and the other switch feed checked my corrado manual wired it up but i think switch is naked as there is no power coming out so will get a new one and let you know

what it has the late stle switch in door handle as i had problems with mine when brought it first make sure you have power up to the switch then make sure you get 12v out of the switch when pushing in a direction if you do make sure you have power at mirror then if you do then its your mirrors but i would say it maybe your switch but if you need some mirrors i have a set hope this helps

i got some cloth tape from frost a couple of months ago but just checked catalgue and can find it its identical to the vw stuff and done my engine bay and cant tell the difference :D or the sprial rap is good but expenxive about 75p a meter depending on size i use it at work on the boats wicked stuff
