Took off the plastic strips took about 5 minutes.... Then another 2 hours getting off the sticky stuff, autoglym intense tar remover did the trick!

Had the same thing happen in my mk2 GTi, turned out fitting brighter bulbs without upgrading everything else was a bad idea :oops: took my Grandpa's mechanic the best part of a day to replace all the relays, wiring etc. -
