All in all they cost me £50 quid shipped from Germany (in the biggest box you have ever seen) - and they arrived within 36 hours of me buying. I was a bit surprised as for some reason i thought it was red leather but nevermind -

PoorMansPorsche replied to PoorMansPorsche's topic in Interior
cheers for that, he doesnt have the loom though so need to source one of those. hopefully should be able to work out whats what once i get the loom, but if someone knows what colour the switched power lead is and any other leads i need to know it would be appreciated i take it its a independant unit and not controlled in any way by the ecu? -
any electric window wiring expert about??
PoorMansPorsche replied to PoorMansPorsche's topic in Interior
righty well that explains the lack of wires - better try and source one of those then !! -
alright peeps, do early corrado electric windows have a controller box or do the wires run straight to the motors?? as i have a crappy after market kit and the switches have broken and i have been unable to source replacements. I have brought some original early window switches but they have less wires than my aftermarket ones. Does anyone have a wiring diragram or actually know what wire does what with early switches as i have the wiring diagram for the aftermarket switches and may be able to knock something up by splicing wires etc cheers Brett

PoorMansPorsche replied to PoorMansPorsche's topic in Drivetrain
well im not going to be lowering my car as it wont fit in my garage (extremely sloped drive and flat garage) apart from the 15mm lowering top mounts so it looks like OE's for me -
alright peeps My Corrado was missing the door speaker grills and this seems to be common problem seeing all the other posts about it. When i located some replacements on ebay they seem to have locked in great so where do they all go? Is it a bad design or something as they they are not the sort of thing you remove??? Do they fall off or something???? hmmmm is there a big pile of them some where with all the biro's???

Argggggggggghhhh! Ive still not managed to sort out some sub frames for the Recaro Speeds i have and the Recaro Website no longer lists subframes for the Corrado at all !! So is there a definative answer as to whether Scirocco sub frames are the same as Corrado ones (because they are still listed) Cheers Brett

alright peeps, First off i do know and have used the SEARCH !! Basically i want my valver handling and steering like when it came out the box so if someone could do me a list starting with all the wearable parts which generally need to be replaced so i can get it ticked off. As i doubt anythings been changed and as its 16 years old im pretty sure everything needs to replaced. I do not want to fit any aftermarket lowering kits or anything like that (as my brain is spinning after reading all the other posts!!), i just want it to be like it should. Also if there are any parts that are better / cheaper than VW ones let me know ! Say for example that £130 bush kit from Venom? I know all things have been covered before but a nice easy to understand list would be great cheers Brett

anyway to find out who owns a reg plate??
PoorMansPorsche replied to PoorMansPorsche's topic in General Car Chat
can you search reg plates on that site then? and if its not listed can i ring up the dvla and see if i can get it even though its a standard non personalised plate? -

i can understand about the 1.8 being more powerful because thats what happened around that time with cats and emmissions etc, take the vauxhall 2.2 engine - only designed to match the power of the older 2 litre but with lower emmissions
-
alright peeps one thing that has always puzzled me is why did VW just up the VR6 engine by 100 cc for the rado, youve got a perectly acceptable engine - why just enlarge by 100cc - surely it would have made the car more special, saleable and more able to compete with the big boy german motors if it was 3 litre - it cant have been that much more difficult if you are going to make the effort of upping it by another 100cc. was it tax reasons or something as we all know the block is capable, even if it didnt up the performance at all it still would have been like - yeah well ive got a 3 litre like etc etc. hmmmmmmmmm Brett

alrighty peeps whilst driving through Hackney the other day i saw a Transporter van with what can only be described as some nutters idea of a reiger infinity bodykit slapped on the side of it - i couldnt get a picture of it as i was driving if anyone else sees it or knows it please post a piccie and give us all a laugh Brett P.S I also saw a couple of weeks ago a mark 4 convertable with them stupid ronal or whatever teddy bear wheels (im not sure what size they are but they looked tiny and the tires seemed mahoosive)
