  1. Alright peeps Ive always given my car a sex (fnarr fnarr) whether it be "me boy" or "good ole girl" and i definately think my rado is "a girl" But the other half thinks that its a bloke like her mk 4 golf. There is no way that a rado with its nice plump frontage and pert rear can be anything but a girl. Please put me or her straight Brett p.s she only jealous cos i love it more than her and definately spend more time with it than her
  2. i dont think there is any leaks definately not anything major and it is only really my weekend toy its not really a big deal if i have to top up every now and again but i will get it looked at though if i have to top up again in the near future by the way it was pretty cheap
  3. well ive only had it for month and only done 200 miles in it so im not sure as yet if it uses water, gotta get the bottle cleaned up first though
  4. what a plonker !!! Noticed that what i thought was plenty of water was actually an old scum line !!! put some water in and its now fine Doh ! Still never mind probably best if i buy a new bottle anyway as mine is completely mank cheers anyways
  5. me water level is fine so must be this sending jobbie cheers
  6. alrighty peeps my temperature gauge warning light keeps flashing on my 1990 16valver and doesnt stop but strangely if i turn the engine off then back on again it stops??? any ideas as its really annoying cheers brett
  7. id personally would get someone to replace the leds, it used to cost me £15 quid to get the leds replaced on my old mobiles so im sure you could get someone in that area to look at your flip front.
  8. cheers funny that i thought the Crossfire was a bit similar in its way to the rado, that is long bonnet and stumpy arse and of course the active spoiler !!! (cant stand em though !!)
  9. So if Karmann are not making Corrado's and Mark 1 Golf Convertibles anymore what are they actually doing now, they must be quite large factory ?? anyone know or am i missing something?? ramble over
  10. Up the Reds !!! Mines had a respray so it does look pretty nice, red is one of those colours that when fresh it looks good but it really doesnt age well
  11. the way i look at is that the supply of Corrado's is limited and i dont really think that colour would effect the value that much, its not like mk 4 Golfs say that there are loads and loads about. As the Corrado is a sports car i dont think that its really going to cut down your target sales market because its not a "girlie colour" which on normal cars does cut down your market, yellow doesnt effect the sales of lambo's !!! My car is the perfect example, its not the colour i would have wanted (red) its not the model i would have wanted (16valver) and its not the age i would have wanted (1990) but it was the right money and the bodywork is excellent and if everyone was honest with Corrados being at least 10 years old if you saw one that was in absolutely mint condition and the right money i think that colour may take a back seat
  12. gavs loom now all fitted, P.O.P to fit and the difference is amazing even with the original bulbs
  13. its not just parkers though that say avoid nugget yellow even the the owners club says - Things to avoid: non working mfa's etc and nugget yellow !!! The only problem that i have with nugget yellow is that most of the ones ive seen have really darkly tinted windows and i cant help but think they look like a bumble bee !
  14. i didnt think about that - good plan  im not really bothered about the dosh because a 100 quid is not really alot of dosh in Corradoland !!!
  15. Yep thats what i thought its just that the bloke who i brought it off said the front bumper had been sprayed a couple of times a i think it is this that is stopping me getting the bung through - it looks like the plastic is supposed to bend but where mine is caked up with paint the plasic doesnt give at all - i think im just going to have to sand it down and maybe cut some lines around the hole to make them bend back a bit more
  16. i actually quite like it !!! ok so its not the best C colour but i think its the only colour that actually suits major body mods that other colours definately dont ramble over (off to admire a Saxo) (not really)
  17. alright peeps changed my sebrings for some nice lensos and now the sebrings are just sitting in my garage doing nothing just taking up space. should i get rid of them or do you think its better if i keep them with the car, OG and all that They are in reasonable condition for 15 year old wheels and all 4 tyres are pretty good, any idea what they may be worth as well??? cheers brett
  18. Do i get the gold medal ???? Brought 1st ever Corrado at 1pm, drive round corner to fill up with juice, pull in, get out of motor, bloke comes over - "nice car mate" - first complient after 5 minutes of ownership - wahay !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - - - - - - OK so he did go on to say "got any spare change" but made me feel good !!!
  19. thanks for replies, the blue and red wire actually is a wire from the head unit but the black cable it connects to i think is an add on from somewhere becase i can feel black tape further down the line, but it worked without it being connected anyway. anyway my local car radio shop have assured me that early Corrado's didnt come with switched power leads (same as my old LT35 !!!) as they have put them on a few on C's. As the standard speakers are rubbish anyway ive just booked it in with local radio shop to have some new speakers and an ISO fitted and let them deal with it cheers Brett
  20. cheers for link Dinkus but stupid me forgot to mention ive got the older type of lights without the plastic surround thingy - even with the grill off i cant seem to get to the back of the fog lamp to push the big bung thing back on. It looks like its just supposed to push through and i thing the plastic of the bumper is supposed to give a bit but you can tell that the bumper has been sprayed a good few times which may be whats stopping it. I have got the actual lights in its just the big bung thing i cant get on the back of it and water will be able to get in
  21. apologies if this has been discussed before as i couldnt find it in the search?? I took my front fogs off to change the bulb and i now cant get them back on. The big rubber cap on the back i have to push through the mounting hole seperately to the actual light, then obviously i cant get it back on the foglamp ?? am i doing something wrong??? does the bumper need to come of or something?? cheers brett
  22. cheers for the replies, the heater controls are working fine. Its what id noticed that the best way to dispell the heat was with the sunroof least my car isnt the only one !!
  23. alrighty peeps my 1990 16v seems to be pretty hot inside all the time with warm air gushing out out of the blowers no matter what the outside temperature or how long ive been driving. The temperature gauge doesnt seem to be too hot and the oil temp seems to stick to around 95. Are Corrados all like that as i do appreciate that it is a sports car or is it likely to be something wrong? any thoughts? cheers brett
  24. Another big to Gavin and his looms. I havent actually fitted yet but was amazed by the quality of the part - like i said in the loom thread if i didnt know better i really would have thought it was a genuine VW part, not something that a clever bod has made up for our benefit. I really would not be tempted to buy one of those 15 quid ones from ebay - spend the extra money on one of gavins ones. also a super speeeeeeeeeeeedy service - arrived next day Nice one Brett
  25. took delivery of one of Gavins looms and it really is a quality piece of kit - if i didnt know otherwise i would have though it was a original VW part nice one mate !!!
