  1. Right had a look at the fitting of this.. There are defo some clearance issues in the area of the alternator and the idler pulley (on the tensioner) Can the alternator be repositioned to where the AC compressor bolts to the engine? Are there any differences in the later VR6 (OBD2) castings of the head / manifold that would mean these clearance issues are not there? In situ - not right against the block due to the clearance issues below Idler pulley will rub against the corner of the manifold, may need a smaller pulley - or can some material be removed from the block on this corner? As you can see there is 7mm-ish to go to sit flush against the head Fuel lines need to move up from their normal position for clearance Alternator pulley will rub on the bracket. Small accident when tightening the tensioner - CRACK!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. yeah, worked it out by looking at the pic on storm developments (from the link you posted). They use the same bracket. Quite clever repositioning of the belt tensioner, flipped backwards and bolted to the bracket with a slot in the bracket to allow the tensioner to do its job. In fact most of the kit in that pic (bar the intake) looks identical. More pics tonight if the rain holds off!
  3. Ok, an update, this is what the guy says: "1) If you put the bolts and everything as shown on the attached picture, the bracket will only fit in one way on the left of the engine. I will sent you a drawing of the belt route. 2) The charger do not need an oilcooler for your setup. The oilcooler is needed over 350+ hp. " Not sure if i'm any the wiser though.. it my make more sense if i look at it in situ.
  4. Ok then... I have the supercharger and bracket etc.. No instructions though... so I have emailed the guy in denmark to see if he can tell me how the hell to mount it (way more complicated than the Z-Eng charger by the looks of it) Kit seems very well made and solid... The full kit Supercharger Bracket Oil reservoir, pulley and 2 other things i'm not sure about yet Dunno what the hell this is for! Traction fluid .....Hot hot hot baby! Any questions or if you want more pics, let me know...
  5. Ok then here is a question.. The charger has a 50mm outlet and i have 50mm pipework as far as the MAF then it is stepped up to 80mm (well a tight fitting 76mm to be precise) Do you think there will be any problems with this smaller concentrated air flow directed at the MAF? If so is it wiser to move the 50mm > 76mm connector to just after the charger outlet to enable the air to fill the larger cavity more before reaching the MAF (i.e the having larger hose for a longer run)? Although, will the boost pressure end up being greater with 50mm hose for the run (air compressed into a smaller space)?
  6. ok, just read this briefly. http://www.fedex.com/us/international/i ... l?gtmcc=us "Denmark is a member of a number of international economic organizations including the: European Union " so you are correct
  7. I was under the impression that Denmark was not part of the EU. When I wired the money to the guy, Lloyds TSB said I had to do an "International Money Mover" as opposed to a "Euro Money Mover" as the danes still use Kroner (although the euro is legal tender also) this is the main reason i was suprised regarding the duty. although it wouldn't be the first time the bank has got it wrong ;)
  8. just realised i had an added bonus with the charger kit. No import duty to pay! Not sure how i pulled that one off as I was expecting to pay at least £150 Can't wait to get my hands on it now... only 2 days left though :)
  9. Lets hope it does what it says on the tin then!! While i'm waiting lets turn to the bodywork..... The C looks like poo at the moment need doing pronto. Namely : drivers rear wheel arch (rusty, poo respray by moi that i deeply regret attempting now) passenger front wing - dented to feck dent in bonnet (where i tried to shut the bonnet without lowering the support first and it slipped and almost punched a hole right through it!) However it does add to that street sleeper look :) ... (or should i say s**te sleeper) Anyone used Acton Coachworks in West London before or can recommend anywhere near me (london town)?
  10. Right then... Parcel has turned up 140 miles away in Shropshire!....... Turns out the guy sent it to my parents address for some reason...... So I will be heading up there from London at the weekend... so no updates till then I'm afraid
  11. still waiting for my parcel.... hopefully it will be here tomorrow :(
  12. Yeah, I suppose that makes sense to suck cool air over the MAF rather than blow hot the chargers hot load all over it
  13. I have a water injection system already, so I will be using that to start with. All being well my package should be here tomorrow. The PDF installatin guide on the rotrex site shows the MAF being placed upstream of the charger. Kev, Do you reckon it will do any harm to have it downstream in the usual configuration? I had a few idling problems with the Z charger and that may have been down to the MAF or some small vacuum leak? I am already venting the crank case breather to atmosphere via a long hose and a breather filter. Engine seems to be running better with this configuration (as well as having nice clean pipes and butterfly). I think I will need to have some head work done soon as vince seemed to think the head gasket was on its last legs (chains will be done at the same time if i do) Also really need some bodywork doing as well. drivers side rear wheel arch is rusted again and passenger front wing is dented to feck (might pull this out myself though)... ahh the list goes on.....
  14. no worries about the pics, I plan on getting a full breakdown of the fitting procedure and will post as I go along.
  15. p.s If i do have to take it to Vince, I have no doubt he can handle it. I was a big surprise to me that I had the first distributor VR6 he had mapped with a charger! all the others had been coilpack so he had to start from scratch with my original chip!
  16. I got it cheap as the charger itself was on ebay. Turned out the guy selling it works for a preferred supplier for Rotrex and sold me the bracket and belt at the end of the auction. Charger itself cost $1150 which is a steal at £617 including oil cooler, filter pipes, traction fluid etc Only other place I have seen them they retail at £1500 for the same setup. I just need to spec up the intake hoses (50mm outlet on the charger so needs stepping up to 80mm) and they also recommend a dump valve. I am also quite impressed that they use 2 of these on the koenigsegg CCX! Must be good!
  17. here's a zoomed in pic of the charger - until i receive in early next week I am in the dark as to how it mounts.
  18. My ZR charger met a horrific death as the main shaft snapped. Its currently being rebuilt, but will be going back on ebay early next week. The rotrex charger is coming direct from denmark. http://www.r-techs.dk/ Brand new Charger + bracket + belt + shipping came to a shade over £900 and is claimed to be good for 400bhp. I need to see what kind of boost its running once fitted to see if I will need another remap straight away (car has already been to see vince when I have the ZR1 fitted) and I may have to wait a month or so before I can afford another £300+ to see Vince again! Lots of good info in PDF format at http://www.rotrex.com/ Here is a photo that Martin at R-Techs sent of a running VR6 with rotrex fitted..
  19. My Rotrex C30-94 charger + vr6 bracket will be here in the next few days.. Just wondering if anyone else is running one on a VR. I know people have swapped out G-Laders for Rotrex chargers.. but a search reveals little when it comes to a Vr6 (even if you google for it). I will post my progress on the install when it arrives.. it somehow fits where a normal centrifugal charger would go (vortech, z-eng etc) but rotates clockwise at the pulley end so there must be some funky gearing on the bracket.
  20. I have taken some more pics as I still need some info about how the blades are held on to the shaft if anyone has any thoughts, please let me know Cheers Boys
  21. If MC Racing would ever bother to return my emails than this would be a possibility. Does anyone know how the blades are attached to the shaft? Is it splined or similar or they bonded on some other way that makes repair pretty much impossible? Very difficult getting info on this (vince doesn't know) The possibility that I may have to buy another charger is looming on the horizon and i am f**ked off at the prospect of this (especially as I have just invested so much time and money on the whole set up, charger, water injection, remap etc)
  22. Yeah, Vince is definately the boy. Very modest guy. He said : "he couldn't understand why everyone raves on about him, he's just a guy in a garage" Nice bloke too.
  23. Right then Spoken to Vince and he thinks he may be able to help and get a new shaft machined for me. I have sent him the pics above, so hopefully I may have some hope! Will let you know how I get on.
  24. Ok, left a message with Raj. Lets see how I get on.... Cheers Kev
