Steveo29, thanks for your input, I had a feeling that I might have to get a smaller pulley and belt, but was not sure. I have seen them for sale somewhere before but can't seem to find them again, except from the US. I'd rather not risk buying from there. Do you know anything about the 'stage 4 compliant' bit, perhaps I need to upgrade my charger? It was refurbed about 3 years ago so think that its pretty healthy but my engine has now done 188,000 miles! Its still going strong though - I get a top speed of about 140mph (down hill, wind behind me....). This is in preperation to take my car to the nerburg ring in germany, am going with friends and I'll have the slowest car!

Hello everyone, I have just purchased a stage 4 compliant Superchip and ECU from E-bay. As I don't want to damage my engine in any way I need a bit of advice befor installing it! The guy I got it from said I could just plug it in and drive away but I'm not too sure about that. The only modifications to my engine at the moment are sports exhaust with the Cat removed and an induction kit, I have the standard charger and pully. Does anybody know what I would need to do to ensure happy motoring? I have been told by a couple of different people that I may need to upgrade my intercooler and oil cooler? check the boost pressure? take it to a rolling road and check the emmisions under full throttle to make sure it won't run to lean and perhaps install another fuel pump? Any advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

Sorry to hear about your timing belt - thats not good, but at least you'll have your window fixed.... Is a bit weird that the drivers side is cheaper over there. I'v had to put fixing mine on hold while I sort out all of the other problems that were picked up when I had it serviced yesterday...It's going to cost me a small fortune. I'm going to get the timing belt changed aswell, just in case...

Well I still haven't got mine fixed yet, but have bought the whole mechanism off of E-bay (motor, cables...etc). Being the pasanger side, it only cost me about £25 inc p+p. I just need to find someone willing to fit it as I'v been told its a nightmare to do, and my manual says you have to take the door off - which I'm a bit dubious about...I have seen a lot of the mechanisms for sale on e-bay - they're not like rocking horse s**t, but have seen the drivers side go for as much as £95. I'll take mine to a shop to get sorted soon, I need it working for the summer....

I'v recently had this sort of problem. My passenger window kept jamming about an inch from fully closing. I heard the motor going and also a slight grating noise as it almost reached the top. After taking the door card off for a closer look and trying the window a few times, the corroded and severed end of a cable (not unlike a bike brake cable) appeared. Due to most of the mechanism being behind panels I can't see what it is attached to, and what it was attached to. The window is now held up with 'cable ties'. I'm in desperate need of some advice on how to remedy this, please...

Cool, that info cleared up a few things I didn't know - cheers oilman. But can anyone recommend what oil (Brand & Grade) I should be using in my G60 @ 181K?

Could anyone recommend a good oil, and what grade? My car has a pretty high milage at 181K.

Thanks for your input Stevemac. I've had it all done now by one of those laser alignment places. I just wasn't sure if they would actually know what setting it should be and if they could/would actually adjust it for me. It now feels great to drive again!

Hi everyone, Hope you don't mind me intruding on your thread, being a newbie and all, but I am hoping for some advice. I have a g60 and have recently replaced the front SuperSport adjustable coilovers, like for like (I was working with a budget otherwise would have replaced the lot with something better). I had a friend do it for me and he left the ride height a little higher as I thought it would look better. However now the wheels look like they're sitting too upright, a more positive camber than before. Does anyone know the correct camber settings and if they are the same regardless of the height of the suspension. Also now my steering wheel is off centre. I had the tracking checked and it was well within the tolerances. So how can it have moved? Any recommendations as to a good place to go to have it sorted out would also be appreciated. Thanks.

I have recently have had the misfortune of having to use the passanger door to get in my car, due to a pin braking on the mechanism. So what exactly are these door handle repair kits?
