  1. Cheers guys. Some good advice n tips there. If they think i'm just gonna roll over and accept the £1300, then they have another thing coming, especially now i'm armed with some extra ammo.
  2. cheers guys. doubt i'll buy it back, they quoted £2k of damage. but i'll get another one if i can afford it. They're gonna get so much grief though!!!
  3. Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. On April 3rd i managed to bump my C. ok, my fault (although ABS didn't kick in), i bumped into the back of a Subaru Legacy at 40 mph. Anyway, i got home and staright away called my insurance company, Direct Line. They started off well, sorting my courtesy car within an hour. I was told the company that would collect my car for repair/inspection, would call that day or the next. Wednesday came, my C still sat on my drive. So i chased collection.....it happened on the thursday. I didn't expect a call back on the friday, so left it a few days. I hadn't heard anything by the following wednesday, so chased it. the guy called me back and confrimed my C had been written off :( , and promised an engineer would call the following day to make an offer. No call backon thursday. As they do not open bank holidays, i had to chase on tuesday........and had no joy (at this point the courtesy car was returned already). after repeated phone calls on wednesday, i eventually got told an enginner would call me back......did it happen? No. I chased yesterday and was given an offer for my '94 red C 2ltr 16v of £1300. No way i told them, and proceeded to go through 5 ads from auto trader stating the prices (1600-1900quid). To take the piss, they called this morning and offered £1100, and when upped it back to 1300. What also takes the piss, is the fact that according to direct line, i never informed them about alloys etc, so they're trying to sting me for an extra £108 for premiums and an increase in the excess from £300 to £450. Oh, and i had to chase the sales people for call records to prove i stated about mods.......and i'm still awaiting the call to confirm this. To me, this is crap service. and the fact that a main VW Dealer has valued my C at a minimum of £1850, direct line aren't the least bit interested. despite their messing about, they refuse to come to an agreement over the use of a courtesy car. I will not be recommending direct line to anyone. Has anyone else ever had this kind of service from insurance companies???
  4. Polo????....Golf???? Golf is from the Gulf Stream Polo... dunno, but it didn't start life as a VW at all, it was originally a cheap version of the Audi 50. to me, Golf is a sport whereby you hit a small ball with a club. as for Polo......isn't that a mint??
  5. At last....i think i've been spotted. I'd have been on my way to work in leam, heading away from stratford on avon. Unfortunately, i'm in a courtesy car now, having bumped into someone on monday. Gutted!!!!!! Now the fate of my Rado rests in the hands of the insurance company.
  6. know what you mean. I've got a valver, but i'd prefer to keep the original badges anyway. A good seller to look up on ebay is Dubmonkeys, they've got some good bits.
  7. I just can't believe he's charging a tenner for it. And if he's a Dub enthusiast, surely he must be aware that other enthusiast's will pick on the fact these are not genuine.
  8. Must admit, it's nice to know of local C's......although i don't think i've spotted you as yet. Working up on tachbrook park.....if you see a red valver with 17"s and slammed, chances are it's me.

I'll have to have a look. I was tempted to get my mechanic to sort it, but if it's something i can do myself i'll save the cash and have a try.

Oh joy........for some reason i'm unable to get my heater to blow onto the windscreen. For some reason, i'm i'm only able to get air coming through the dash fans, and not the windscreen, which is a bit of a pain when your windscreen mists up. Having a window clears it, but then you have the problem of the missus complaining that she's cold. Any idea's of the cause and how to cure this problem (and not the missus saying she's cold).
  12. I think it safe to say we're all pretty addicted to our pride n joy's.
  13. Green VR K6**APP in Tesco car park in Stratford on Avon on thursday night around midnight.
  14. And if i see a blue hi-ace, i'll dive into the nearest car wash just in case.
  15. Hi Grim, yes mate that was me, thought it best not to flash or wave in case you thought who is that nutter in the Hiace! :) Had a nice 100 mile trip up from London this morning to do a job in Tachbrook Park, wish I had been drinving the c. It was kinda funny, although i figured that you were from the forum. But good to see a fellow forum member on the road at last. And i can safely say she's looking a lot cleaner, having washed her at the weekend.
  16. Mr Ots, do you by any chance drive a blue Toyota Hi-ace? Were you paying a visit to Leamington Spa this morning? Just wondering if it was you getting a few shots of my C this morning, red valver reg L724 ROR, needs a bit of a clean too. Grim
