Hi Guys, What is the bit called where the water hose goes into the engine on my valver (on the right hand side, next to the temperature sender) called? The hose is in good condition and i'm losing a lot of water from this area. Is it some sort of gasket? Also, would i be best getting this part from the dealership? Cheers in advance!

Hi, I have a 1990 16v and my blowers only work on level 4! I've been told that this is a common problem?! and that it is easily resolved with a soldering iron?! Is this true and how do i go about fixing it? Cheers

Hi Guys, Does anyone have any idea why my battery light stays on for the first couple of miles when I start my 16v from cold? Everything seems to be ok with regards to battery condition and charge. Cheers

It's just the general business graduate scheme. From what I gather you get a few months placement in different departments so you can learn as much about the business as possible.

I'm thinking about applying for the VAG Graduate Scheme. I think it's based in Milton Keynes. Has anyone worked for VAG or know anything about working for VAG?

What about fitting a used tyre? I have a acquired a perfectly good used tyre and was going to put it on my spare. Do you think places will fit a used tyre??

I have no doubt that a similar topic has been posted umpteen times, but i couldn't find anything on search! I have a 16v with standard 195/50 wheels - what tyres do you guys recommend? Bearing in mind I am not a millionairre! I won't be doing any Fast and the Furious style driving, but at the same time do need decent (affordable) tyres in case i get the urge!! :twisted: Cheers!

Ok, looks like the head gasket is away on my valver. :cry: I'm not expereinced enough to attempt this myself so am wondering roughly how much £ i'm looking at to get this sorted from a garage. Has anyone had this work done? How much did you pay?

I've only had the car for a few days and it has a bad(ish) oil leak. I checked the oil level this morning, expecting it to be pretty low, but i was surprised to find that it was normal. If it was just over-filled how long should it take before the blue smoke goes away? I have a funny feeling that there may be something more than over-filled oil though!

How bad? What are we talking here?

Hi, Looking to buy a workshop manual for my 1.8 16v and was just wondering what you guys use? From what i understand Bentley's is the best, but there is no way i'm paying that amount for a paper copy. How do you guys find the cd-based workshop manuals? Do you just print off what you want then go out to the car with the print out? Cheers

Got an update on this post.... Got my girlfriend to drop me off today and as she pulled away there was blue smoke out the exhaust! I'd never noticed this before because i'm always driving!! Does this help with diagnostics?? Cheers guys!

Cheers for the advice. I've done a quick visual check of all the obvious parts (as detailed in http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9443) and can't see anything. I'll take a thorough look over all these areas at the weekend. It shouldn't be too difficult to spot as I'm going through about 1 litre of water every 100 miles!!!

Hi, After years of owning MK2 golfs i finally got my first corrado at the weekend! Anyway, i've encountered a new problem which was never an issue on my golfs - power steering!! From cold the power steering squeels (just like a fan belt) then I don't hear anything again until i'm on full lock where it starts to squeel again. Also when i'm being heavy on the power steering(i.e 3 point turn), it sometimes goes heavy (just for a half a second) and then starts to work fine again. Any ideas? Cheers

Hi Guys, Finally realised a 10 year dream and got my 1st Corrado at the weekend! Anyway, she is going through a fair bit of water and after having checked all the obvious places (from the sticky coolant loss post) I have discovered that there is a lot of moisture coming from the exhaust - especially on startup. From what I can see there is no oil in coolant and vice versa. Does this sound like my head gasket is away? The car seems to be running fine - no white smoke etc..... Any help would be appreciated - cheers!
