    heater fan problem

I thought fo that a little later, Im pretty sure I turned the headlights off first and everything stayed on anyway. It hasnt happened since, so I cant test it.
  2. I just found a very strange problem in my '90 G60. I got out of the car this morning at work and shut off the ignition, my heater fan and rear defroster stayed on. I think it has killed my battery a couple of times, cause I just didnt notice. When I got home tonight though, everything shut off as usual when I shut the key off. Anyone ever seen this?
  3. Thanks for your help. As it turns out it wasnt a fuse at all. Just a very strange coincidence. The postitive contact broke off of the starter. But the good news is that my dome light works now.
  4. Its a 1990 G60. Sorry guess I shoulda put that in the first place.
  5. Check out this website. They make remote start alarms that are specificaly for standard transmission vehicles. You can also get two way so you know whats going on with your car when it's out of site. Its also fully upgradeable, so you could add on a window rollup module if you want to. http://www.compustar.org/
  6. I was trying my doem light working the other day and blew a fuse in the process. I got frustrated and gave up work for the day. Next day, the car wont start withou a clutch pop. Are the dome light, and the starter(I lost the clock too) on the same circuit?
  7. Thanks, those are soem good suggestions. I have a good shop that Ill talk to about those options. The car is running, and Ive never driven it with the SC on it anyway, so Im not "missing" the power, I just hate knowing it not there and should be. Is there a turbo setup that will bolt on, or will mods need to be made?
  8. Any body out there know how to Tune an 8v to run W/O the supercharger. I just bought a 1990 G60 and the supercharger is blown. Cant have it repaired yet, but I need to drive the car anyway. I know it wont be the same W/O it but its my only car.
  9. Thanks for the trying to help, Ive got alot to look for now. A co-worker was looking at the car today and I hadnt told him that the door was stuck, I dont know how but it opened for him. After that first time all Ive had to do is pull up on the lock and it opens with the outside handle. Inside handle is still broken off where the hook on the end of the rod pulls the mech. If you guys could tell me what to fix now that Ive got it open that would be great.
  10. Ok, Ive tried every suggestion I have found on here to get my passenger door open, and still am having to climb over the shifter. Nothing is getting the door open. The rod for the inside door handle has broken off (at the door jam end). The door appears to be unlocked, and the outside handle seems to be working fine(obviously it not). What do I do now?! :x

    Broken door handle

I know, but how? The door wont open.
  12. I was opening the passenger door on my c today and heard a crack form inside, now the door wont open. The inside door handle just flaps around. Any suggestions on how to get in there to fix it without destroying the door panel?
  13. You've definately got a wire shorting in the door jam. It gets pinched while the door is closed. I see it alot in Jeep Grand Cherokee's too. Just try running temporary wiring, and see if that solves the problem. Dont go to all the trouble off running it through the door boots and dash yet, just drape it ove r the seats and see if it works right.

    Window mechs

Is it possible just to fix the broken cable. Thats the problem Ive got, everything else works fine.
  15. My dad has been driving Scirroco's for a long time, and I loved them, Ieven bought one from him. We have 4 between the two of us. I loved the look of the Corrado too, but never saw one up close untill a couple weeks ago. We had one in the shop a couple weeks ago for an alarm removal so the guy could sell it. I wouldnt let him leave till he sold it to me. All it took was sitting in it.
  16. I havent noticed that its "smellier" so far. I have been using it in very small amounts though. The stuff I use dries really quick. I just used it rebuild the center console in my dads '87 Scirocco, I moved the radio opening up to the position and vise versa. It came out realy well.
  17. Ok....well....yeah. The name of the stuff is Duramax plastic repair paste.
  18. ABS plastic, dude. Think interiors.
  19. Fiberglass is great if you know how to work with it, it can be a real pain. Also over time it will start to crack as the sun beats down on it. At my shop we use, what we commonly refer to as "liquid ABS". It works great and it wort crack from being in the sun. Ill check on the real name for it and post it later.
  20. I dont know if you guys have it where you are. But look for 2 products, Im sure you can find them online. 1. Goof-off 2. Goo Gone. They both work great for getting that glue off. It takes a while and you have to wash the window after, but its worth it.
