    Cheers Dude. I'm gonna change the oil again and put some fully mineral oil in there just to make sure. I'll see what happens.

    Put your bloody foot down man! :lol: I'm runnng mine in at the moment so don't go over 3000 revs, and I still only got 30 mpg on a 300 mile run!!!

    lol :) We all win mate - we've all got Rado's after all! :) I'm hoping to come to the meet but it depends on the kids. They don't like the new suspension so if I've got them for the weekend I won't be able to make it ;)

    I reckon you have the 70 litre fuel tank then mate? But you still need to stop farting about as well! :) IOW - you can't really compare a standard VR to a modded G60 though mate!

    I'm not jumping to any conclusions matey - I'm not having a go at Vince or anything don't worry! :) I just don't want to see smoke!!!!

    Yeah I agree mate, but still not what you want or expect from that kinda fiscal outlay :( And it's fekin miles away so any return trips are a reet pain in the aerosol. Saying that, I went out for my early morning blat and there was no sign of any smoke.

    That's exactly it, once you're on the open road you rarely need to come out of 4th/5th gear. The VR will pull in 5th gear from as little as 30mph... :) Absolutely mate. Now I've got the schrick intake it's even better - I can literally cruise round town in 5th! :)

    I think I'll drain whatever they put in today (first oil change) and stick some duckhams mineral in there. Its only done 20 miles since the oil change. Should I go for a 10-40 to start or something thicker? What would be the grade of a slightly thicker oil? 15-40 or 10-50? I'm confused :)

    And you only have to change gear about half as much in a VR :)

    Definately smoke. Slightly blue I guess. Not synthetic oil - posssbly semi though? Vince said any would be fine. 600 miles only.

    What about Blaupunkt or whatever they're called? They're good quality, no frills jobbies and look really old skool.

    :shock: Ok so I've been told to expect a bit of oil consumption and maybe even a bit of smoke whilst the new engine is running-in, but today i reversed the car and saw a load of smoke blowing back at me from the exhaust. I also noticed some when sitting idling at a traffic light - thats a classic sign of piston rings isn't it? Anyway, should I be worried and get the car straight back to Vince? Or is it relatively normal? Help please!!

    Yeah I use V-power all the time too. Come to think of it I reckon I've got the smaller fuel tank - there's no way I'd get 70 litres in! The smaller one's 55 litres or so isn't it? Sounds more like it....

    Not me mate! If I drive like a complete girl I'll get 320 or so from a full tank. I can't imagine how these folk are getting 400 to 500 miles out of a VR6!! :shock:

    Yeah it would be good to meet up and compare beasts mate. Bring a gum-guard though - fek me its a wee bit hard suspension wise now! :)

    Yeah my C can't ever go now - it owes me far too much money! I've probably spent 3 times what its worth. But sensible isn't one of my qualities to be fair :)
