  1. These prototypes are, but I will probably migrate into stainless as it will hold up better for shipping and if users decide to polish them. I don't know how much I want to trust the clearcoat on polished aluminum. I just don't have any experience with it. I have played around with hand filing the lines between the letters and then polishing and they look sharp! Down side is how much time it takes to do.
  2. I have started making custom emblems for cars. Got an idea for something totally unique? Now you can do practically anything! Get creative! You can make sure your car is a one-of-a-kind. Installed: Cheers!
  3. The first custom badge is installed! She went on my car tonight! I didn't even have the patience to wait until it had been clearcoated. It is VERY cool! :D Please excuse the dirtiness of the car. It has been parked in the garage for weeks awaiting a heart transplant which is coming soon!
  4. Branching out a bit. How about custom badges in aluminum:
  5. Hopefully, I will see the new motor show up this week and I can dive into this.
  6. Thank you! That is great. Now I can dirty up my garage proper! Cheers!
  7. Good deal. I will take your advice - (all) and yank the front. Any tips that make it easier for a first time removalist?
  8. So how long are we talking to pull the front end off?
  9. Thats what I figured. I was hoping somebody had a trick - other that jacking the car over the top. Holy crap! You're a genius! My boss bought a used car lift a couple of years ago and I believe had it installed in our newest building! I am dropping it out the bottom! That will be a cake walk! Thanks! I didn'nt even remember that until just now.
  10. How much easier is it to swap motors if I pull off the front end - rad support, etc.? Or is it even possible with the front end still on? Never pulled one of these before...
  11. The thickness is okay, I am just trying to cram more detail into too small of a space. I could always go larger, but part of the coolness of these things is how small they are.
  12. I've got an opinion pole going over on the vortex: http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=4095629 Cheers!
  13. I want your opinions. In prototyping key fobs, I run some that look very cool, but for reasons like the machine doesn't want to play nice with them, I end up with only one or two good prototypes. Here's my question: Do I list them on ebay and auction them off or do I simply hold on to them and stash them away never to be released. Case in point, the one on the bottom: And again on the top: - yeah I polished it... I ran it tonight. Out of six tries, this is the only one that turned out good enough for me. That would make the production version of this thing more than double the standard cost. Do I list it as a one of a kind and never run them or what? Tell me what you think.
  14. Check out the newest of the newb's! This Corrado one I can do very easily. The other car one was just too intricate and the backside blew out so it only looked that good on the one side. Anyway, let me know what you think: They will be added to the official line up in a few minutes. 8)
  15. Steve - replied. Everyone else, just some teaser artwork I've been working on for other fobs: DB7 needs alot of work!
  16. Glad you like it. Have fun with it! 8)
  17. I used a forklift at work. I sat on a pallet 20 feet up or so and my co-worker drove me around the car snapping pictures. Check out the others taken that day. It was the day I listed it for sale for my brother-in-law. It was about two weeks before I bought it from him. They are on one of my webs. http://www.mycorrado.com
  18. A shot with all current keystrokes:
  19. Okay, One DIY for fonts. 1. Download the font from the link on the xnology.com site. - click the save button and save it to your computer in "my documents" folder or on your destop just so it is easy for you to find. 2. Open up windows explorer by holding down the windows key between ctrl & alt and tap "e" while your holding it down. 3. Explore to the folder you saved the font file to. 4. Right mouse click on the font file - select copy from the menu only if you do not have an install option and go to step 5. - if you have an install option, just select that and go to step 6. 5. Explore to the "c:\windows\fonts" folder - right click on the folder and select paste. 6. The font should now be loaded and ready to use. Simply pick the Corrado Normal font from your list of fonts in whatever software that you use to generate documents or to edit photos and you are typing in the font from the badge. Pretty easy stuff! If you have other questions, PM me and I will help if I can.
  20. Thanks! Did you try the font as well?
  21. Hey! I updated my corrado font file with some of these designs as key strokes: I will be adding more key strokes as the designs evolve and develop. Download the new version font @ xnology.com It is still free! You will have to delete the old font file in the fonts folder on your system prior to installing the new one to use the new version. 8) Check out some of my other proto fobs: custom and prototype fobs
  22. Ran a couple of other prototypes tonight as well... The corrado one still has lines that are too thin for that size. I will still play with them. :D
