OK, Steve and Andi, Here's a prelim of the actual fobs: They are a far better fit in the hand. Let me know what you think! Cheers!
-
My appologies, I didn't even get out of bet until 5 minutes ago. This burning the candle at both ends finally knocked me down hard yesterday. :pale: I will see if prototyping the car one is possible this evening if my body comes back around. I don't know how the corrado under the car will turn out. I can lay it out and see. I like small fobs. The bigger they get, they still look cool, but I am far less likely to actually use them. I am going to grab a shower.
-
Twenty is probably the lowest number I would run of any given design. I am thinking of prototyping the car one in the morning if I get a chance. :D
-
Hell. I've even thought of cutting fome fob's that have the shank of the vw keys on them and seeing if I can get a locksmith to grind the proper grooves in them for totally custom keys. Any ideas or feedback on that one?
-
I will probably add the graphic as a keystroke in my font as well. I'll post one up as soon as I try cutting one and work out any issues it may have. 8)

Thanks Nick! Here are a couple of others I have been toying with while I'm already here and online: A tweaked VW A tweaked Audi ring set & normal Audi ring set The second ring set down is a straight on shot of the tweaked angles. Pretty fun stuff!
-
I have been playing around with another design that would be pretty intricate, but very cool. Check out the preliminary layout:

Andy & Steve, Something like these for the ring hole: The ones on the right are scaled down 25% and I think they'd be more comfortable in a pocket or hand. Personally, I'd go for the bottom right myself, but I leave it up to you... Let me know.

Went to work at 4:15 this morning. Took 20 for lunch and left at 7:30 this evening. I had a spare minute before walking out the door and I wanted to see how it would look! Sweet, but a little large and we nned to find a hole placement for a ring. 8)
-
Where would you like to see the ring hole? Which end? Let me know where and how many you want to run. I will repost the fob sketch with the ring hole placed as you describe. :D

It's bigger than the footprint of my first house as well. My first house had two bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen-dining area , a small living room, and a hallway with a couple of closets in about 45 sq ft less space. It measures 30' across by 28' deep with a stairway going down from the door in the rear right corner to the basement. I have had four cars wedged into it before. :D

I am also wiring the garage with an extra home theater set-up that I have since we moved in! That will be awesome when I can get a new loptop as the old one died. Then - streaming netflix videos in the garage while screwing around with cars! It doesn't get any better...

I almost bought a third a year ago.

The twins in for a bit of work: The white is awaiting a stock market rebound for a rebuild - donor swap - needs a #1 cylinder! The green is getting a tune up for winter.
-
The first custom design comes from the UK rado-steve supplied some artwork: Here's the design proof: By the way, yes that is my V1 Corrado fob. It was the very first one off the laser and it has been polished. 8)

Keep the font spreading.... Another satisfied customer!

When I did the timing, I cracked the oil dipstick tube extension without realizing it and she spewed oil all over when I drove it down the street. I haven't run it with the filler cap off, but I will try tonight. I will also try the oil in the cylinder trick and retest the compression. This is great information. Thank you.
-
Looks like it is rebuild time. I just finished up a compression test on a stock G60 (pg) engine. 2,3,4 all at 135 lbs. 1 only made 25 lbs. and that is being generous to the gauge. Any advice for somebody about to get elbow deep into the engine?

Glad to hear it worked on the mac and a big "you're welcome" to everybody using it! It really is pretty slick. Has everybody typed a picture of their Corrado yet???? Try the ` key just to the left of the "1" key. The image from the front of the Bentley should come up. Have a good one!
-
I hope it works on the mac. I remember some people were having compatibility problems before.
-
I thought I might want to bump this back up on the radar screen. I am finding that there are still a bunch of owners that don't know it exists. http://www.mycorrado.com/font.html
-
Just glad to be able to spread some Christmas cheer! Let me know if there are any compatibility issues. :x-mas:

It's ready for download! Here are the rules: 1. Use it where and when ever you want. It's free. 2. If you're going to use it for stickers or t-shirts and they turn out cool, I'd appreciate it if you'd email me, get my address, and send me one of them. 3. For websites and promotional junk, if you want to tell people where you got it, that'd be fine with me. Thanks to those who have shown interest thus far. Please know that this may never be completely accurate to all known official or unofficial badges. I am pretty happy with it right where it is. If you have to have a super accurate font for some particular reason, email me and maybe we can work something out. http://www.mycorrado.com/font.html

Maybe I can take a look at slimming her down a bit once I get everything else ironed out.
-
It looks like the Corrado badge was generated in bold letters as with most of the other US VAG offerings. That is where I started, so the font will always be a little to bold for the Storm badges and more than likely others I am as yet unaware of. Unfortunately, there isn't an "unbold" option in software....
