  1. haha, yea it seem to be a dragster, actually drove it like this back (worked ok), but it's now back on stock speedlines, as the borbets are on my Passat VR....:) and yes, it's the blackberry (the pics doesn't do a very good job showing it...lol)
  2. A bit earlier this year I picked up this Brombeer 95 VR6 from Stockholm - Sweden, it's a bit hard to start, but haven't been able to go over it properly yet.......drove it about 1000 km from Stockholm to Bergen - Norway. The pics are quite bad, as I haven't taken any pics of it myselfe yet, but this is how it looked while it was still swedish...:) Funny story about this car though, was never sold as a new car as it was in use by Volkswagen themselves, according to VW Automuseum (long story short, due to registration in Norway, I tried to find a first date for registration in Germany, wich doesn't seem to exsist, as VW doesn't register these cars on a "normal" german plate). It got pretty much all equipment, besides leather. It got sunroof, AC, double airbags etc, and it's done about 119000 Km, and got a full service record. Gona do the chain replacement before I register it in Norway, so it most likely will be sitting until next summer...:) (Not planning on using it on norwegian SALTY roads during winter time....:) )
  3. I have a 95 VR6 I bought a while ago, it's done about 119000km and I'm thinking of doing an "overhaul" changing the timing chain, tensioners etc. What parts would you guys recomend changing at the same time? (clutch?). Also IIRC there is some "updated" tensioners around, wich supposed to be better then the ones originaly made?. Also if you know of anywhere I could order all the parts that also would be great, either in US or UK. (Also is the chain/tensioner the same for 2.8 and 2.9 engines (if ordering from the states)?.
  4. Ok, what lowering kit are you running on that one?, and how much is it lowered? Also is it still ok to drive it on "bad" roads....ie with holes in the road etc...... regards
  5. Ok, is there any difference on the bolts etc on early ones, or do they fit straight to a 95? (ie was there any other changes done other then the height?)... And also does 16V's, G60, VR6's use the same shock absorbers/springs?
  6. hmmm, looked quite high on the pics of the storm atleast.... Any tips on what I could go for to lower it a bit but still have driving comfort? (As I'm not into kidney crushing...:) )
  7. I'm thinking of going back to stock suspension and 15" speedlines on the 95 Corrado VR6 I recently bought, (due to much bad roads around here), and was wondering if anyone have any pics of how "high" it is on stock suspension and stock rims?. (As I need it to be not too hard) I see there is supersport lowering kit on it now, anyone know anything about it?, and eventually if it's possible to find TUV papers online for it?. Thnx
  8. Where is the temp sender located for the temp gauge? As I guess that one too is bad, as I just testet with the cluster from my Passat VR6, and the fuel gauge came on ok, but the temp gauge went up to 80-90C's when I started the car. If it's in the area of the blue temp sensor, how do you remove the cover over them ?, (without breaking it that is...;) )
  9. Any idea if I could connect my Motometer cluster from my Passat VR6? The Corrado have VDO cluster....... Just to make sure it's in the cluster the error is.
  10. What sender is it?, and would that effect the fuel gauge as well? (is it located at the same place as the "blue" temp sensor?)
  11. Just did a test on the voltage regulator, and it seem to be operating ok, anyone got any idea what might cause this problem then? Voltage regulator measures: Input: aprox 12V Output: aprox 9.99V
  12. As topic says. The MFA temp works, could it still be the voltage regulator that's defect? (The soldering on it seem to be ok). The temp gauge goes straight up there when the ignition is set to on.
  13. If you want to loosen it without the danger of breaking the plastic clips I think it's best to unscrew the black plastic covers first, maybe enough to loosen the upper one.....the one at the back The black being the one who have the guides for the leads....:)
  14. Seem to be some corrosion on 4-5 pins on the female connectors, any tips on how it could be fixed? I have sprayed some elect cleaner (CRC) into it...... Are these pins changable? EDIT: Or could some of the connectors been made out of copper? (it's 4 connectors)
  15. btw, how do you remove the cover over the temp sensor etc, without damaging it?
  16. Ok, never did live readings with my vag-com, I'l look into it (As for some reason the other VR6 I have (passat) doesn't allow live readings, doesn't seem to be able to connect to the car while running), I know the Corrado does though...:) thnx again for the tips
  17. I have scanned it, it doesn't throw any errors besides one ABS sensor :) For the 1000+ km I drove from where I picked it up the fuel consumption where normal, much the same as my other VR6. btw, what do you mean with the "measuring block", and how is that checked?. thnx
  18. Ok, thnx, yea it idle ok once it's started successfully (although it can "start", then die, seem like something isn't able to "kick" in before it dies). The former owner told me that it will fire up and start if you push it to start and also if you put start gass into it. Also while I crank the engine I can smell petrol, so I guess it might "flow" the engine to much?. (Will it do that with a faulty FPR?)
  19. I hear a buzzing sound around that area, how does one clean that thing, if it's not faulty? (Also does early 1992 VR6 engine use the same ISV?, as I have another engine laying around, might have that ISV thingy there...).....if not nick it from my Passat...:) Also how do you disconnect that wiring harness?
  20. ok, thnx I'l have a look into this, corrosion might be present as it only drove about 300 km the last 4 years or so.......before I picked it up, it ran fine for the 1000+ km I had to drive it back home though.......lol, but where always this warm-start problem along the way....;)
  21. Would the fuel pressure regulator show up in VAG-COM ? (I see in another post that it might be the source for such problems).
  22. ok, thnx, I'l check it out!...:)
  23. Just picked up my first Corrado, it's a 95 VR6, got about 119000Km on the odometer, and complete service record etc. BUT it have a few small problems, one being that it's sometimes hard to start. It seem that it's only hard to start when it's a bit warm, either from driving it, or when the weather is good and it get warmed up that way. It seem that it's easier to start when it's cold, then it will "fire up", and then almost die out again, but seems likes something is "kicking in" just before it dies again, and then it's ok. When it's warm I have to crank it, and it might fire up, then die, then have to crank it again, and when it eventually fires up I have to "pump the gas-pedal" a few times or it will die again. Also seem like it revs up a bit before dying. (Atleast my Passat VR6 (although a bit older) doesn't seem to do the same when it comes to "reving up". Any tips on where I should start? PS! It does not throw any error codes when scanning it with VAG-COM. thnx
  24. Problem solved.............well almost. Put the ecu I borrowed into the car today, it fired up right away, so guess that's sorted, now I gotta get my hans on one of these. btw, anyone ever took one apart, I was thinking of just opening it and see if it's something "obviously" wrong with it like bad soldering etc, we'l see. Thanks again for the respons...:)
