  1. I'll be going for a RWYB seesion or 2....never taken my C on the strip mainly because I've only owned it since November. My old Golf used to get a good thrashing up there so its only right I treat the C too. My g/f's brother will probably be up for it too in his C16v. Anyone know what sort of time to aim for with a standard 16V Corrado? Best time in my Golf was 16.729 I think, it was only an 8v with a 2 litre conversion that never seemed to run right!
  2. Thats impressive, my missus can't get that in her Golf Vr6....and she drives like a granny everywhere
  3. Bloody hell mate thats rough, you car looks really tidy from the pics I've seen on here. Real shame
  4. I live just south of Wolverhampton but the car was in the countryside just outside Stoke at the time. Car looks tidy again now, didn't have chance to hoover the rest of the glass up for a couple of days. Now she's all clean and tidy :)
  5. suppose I should get the 1600 CL i bought for £50 roadworthy! I must say I do love the Corrado, just the scary prices of parts puts the fear of god up me!
  6. I wish I had a garage :( The Corrado lives in the street outside my house, it was parked at my girlfriends parents house which is pretty much in the middle of nowhere! I'm wondering about selling up and getting another Golf...at least sourcing bits is cheaper and less traumatic! I didn't like all the long sigh's and sucking teeth I got when I phoned around after the glass! Someone talk me out of it
  7. Well I got the glass sorted today. Cost me £30 for a 2nd hand screen and £80 for a mobile window fitter to fit it. Not bad for a bank holiday monday! Car looks a right mess inside though, all the trims missing around the tailgate and there's still glass everywhere....best get hoovering!
  8. No other damage except for a scuff on the spoiler...i think the stone must have counced off or something....its a bit nasty I was proper angry last night....been looking at all the chavs i've seen in the area today...wondering if it was them! I'd love to find the shit, they'll be picking each piece of glass up with their teeth
  9. No unfortunately. Jo's Mum and Dad heard something but when they got up there was nobody about. Apparently another car further down the road was done too
  10. Happy New Year to everyone! Came home from the new year festivities to be confronted with this      Found the stone that did it in the rear footwell.....makes me so mad, why bother, why my Corrado??? Was lucky really as my girlfriends VR6 and her brothers Corrado 16v were both out.
  11. Thats insane!! Can't wait to see the finished results :)
  12. I love that car...nice work you've done there :)
  13. make us an offer then :-P Think I've sold those wheels now, using the steels coz out of my growing wheel collection they had the best tyres! nice set of Goodyear F1's. They'll look better once the suspensions been sorted. Corrado ownership has been good so far.....had 4 Golf's before this and it's my favourite VW so far :) although I loved that Golf!
  14. Hello all Heres a pic of my Corrado which I bought recently.....all i've done is stick some G60 steels on it and fix the wonky front headlamp! Future plans include just subtle mods of which suspension and an exhaust are high on the agenda! And heres a couple of my old Mk2 Golf before i crashed it The reg number has been transferred to the Corrado too, even though its only a valver...I don't really care too much!
  15. Unless you fill up with Shell Optimax all the time. The 1800 16V needs the higher octane fuel, nothing to do with the fuel having lead in it or not. The 2.0 litre is much more flexible due to the better torque characteristics i should imagine. Never driven a 2 litre Corrado but I did have a 2 litre Mk2 Golf GTI which was a right torque monster....but thats another story
  16. Mines Inka Blue.....only available in 91 by the looks of it :)

    Boot carpet

Thats good then :) Funny how a full size spare is an option on a C but comes standard on poverty spec Golfs. Can't remember the last time I used my spare wheel. In this case I prefer a small hump, but obviously there are certain situations where large humps are better ;)

    Boot carpet

Just wondering, as I'new to the Corrado are there any models/years that came with a space saver spare wheel? My car is a 1991 16V and has a full size spare which means you get the annoying hump on the boot floor. I was wondering if I could put a space saver in there and obtain a flat boot carpet...kind of like the mk2 Golf GTI has instead of the humpy carpet that the base models came with. Cheers
  19. Only picked my Corrado up on Monday night, tonight the noise of the rear wheel bearing humming was starting to drive me crazy so I decided I'd better have a look. Its only -1 outside and the gravel from the driveway was sticking to my overalls! Anyway managed to tighten it up and while I was at it I decided to see what my Black G60 Steels would look like......big mistake, ended up changing all the Sebrings over. Not a big fan of Sebrings anyway to be honest and the Steels have got really good Goodyear F1's on them as they were fitted on my Golf. I also fitted some tinted side repeaters which is nice.
  20. its wierd, I was just talking to a mate about 5 door Corrados.....strange topic of conversation I know!

    16V suspesnion

Cheers for the welcome :) Hope to be sticking around for a while The Corrado is a 1991 16V and my Golf is a 1990. Was hoping I could save some cash by using the Golf's suspension, until I can afford some coilovers anyway

    16V suspesnion

Hi there, I'm a new Corrado owner....well actually I don't actually have the car in my posession yet....but anyway I have a modified Mk2 Golf GTI 8v that's been in a an accident. This car has a set of Bilstein dampers and Eibach springs fitted. What I was wondering is, could I use this suspension set up on a Corrado 16V?
