  2. Not posted for a while, and not up on my research....car pretty much moth balled for 18 months. Going to get the beast ('95 VR6) back on the road, so dropped it in for a service...here's the list; Rear wiper split (?!) Front Strut Tops worn Idle Value - £209.95 + VAT quoted ABS Pump - £1,468.66 ( :nono: ) + VAT quoted HT Lead Set Done a quick search and found the Idle Value for £80 less....Question is can any one recommend a quality/reliable/value place or breakers I can source these parts (not the wiper blade)? I seem to remember ECP & GSF, any good still? Also looking for recommendations on uprated HT Leads....what's good? Cheers All.
  3. You learn something new everyday..............just in time too, I was beginning to worry today.
  4. 1) Yes - But would give a respectful tip of my hat as I screamed past. 2) Yes - as long as it wasn't the g/f, but the fitty from the sandwich shop down the road
  5. Saw an Aqua Blue Pearl Rado last night at about quarter to 6, I know exactly who it was methinks. VR6 was racing home from work!
  6. Possibly looking to sort myself an In-dash DVD. Want something to entertain me while waiting for the g/f. Been looking at the Alpine IVA-D310R/RB. I want something that is single din, will fit flush in the dash, and has a DVD/CD player in the head unit (as opposed to needing a separate changer). Anyone got any opinions on good units? Pictures of the install would be good too......
  7. I've was given some zymol wax. What is the best way to apply and take off for best results?
  8. I had the same problem on mine. Warning light was on indicating an ABS failor. All I did was pull out the light and un-plug the bulb and hope they didn't notice. Guess what - Sailed through it's test. :thumb right: Who needs ABS anyway. I have a feeling I'm going to regret that comment one day.
  9. http://www.manxpower.com Makes me ashamed to be manx. The Jailor and xbones take note. Obviously not how it's done......
  10. I got seven number, pitty they weren't on the same lines.............
  11. I think thats what they are getting at. I just don't understand.
  12. So what is the best method to get a good finish? I have just been given some Zymol wax and prep wash. On the tub it says warms a some wax in your palms and apply in a back and forth motion. What's that all about????
  13. I had a set of RM's on my old Golf (See Gallery) and like the look of them. Would say though that they are a bit of a 'mare to keep clean. Many an hour needs to be devoted to sitting on your ass with a toothbrush. My advise would be to not let them get too dirty. Wipe them down with some WD40 regularly. You might also want to think about running them as summer only wheels.

    Waxing Lyrical

There seems to be a bit of a cult following over here as can be seen for the turn in the forum. I've owned two, but the previous one was killed shortly after I let it go.....so maybe not.

Shouldn't be a problem! She is garaged at the moment to keep the miles off. Hanging on to 79k. Currently driving a very attractive 1.4 Peugeot 206 :pukeright: . Dirty Frenchos! Ok read the thread. But one question. The side of the tub says warm with hands........what do I do with it then? Dig it out, warm it up and smear it on? Sounds a little un-sophisticated.

A kind gentleman at work has given me some wax to polish my big purple monster.................my car you dirty minded git! Think its pretty good stuff (Zymol). Does any one have any comment on the suitability of this stuff for my C. Plus any tips on getting the best results from my elbow grease.
  18. Want one! I keep having recurring dreams of an R32 Rado. Want to have engine, dash and interior, in the same vein as Jay's, as though it had come straight from the factory. If only I had a clue......................
