Hi all, I have had some luck today. Someone has given me a knackered 2 Door Audi A3 1.6 auto. It will cost to much to fix as the guy thought it would be a good idea to try driving it in the desert and buggered up the gearbox and broke pretty much everything else under the bonnet. Not so nice when sand gets into the engine. So since this is the emirates it is cheaper to go buy a new car. LOL So my question is, will the interior from the A3 fit in the Corrado? It has Audi's easy access to the rear seats, the dash looks like it could fit but will be a challenge. Does anyone know if it has been done before? I know the TT dash fits and the seats. I know the rear seats are probably too wide for the Corrado but will see what I can do. Cheers Craig.

Hi Kezbo, I did the conversion with a set of 2001 Seat Leon Brakes which were originally on 288mm and theses were fine, brakes are much better. Here is the WIKI. They are listed as possible to use. http://the-corrado.net/wiki/index.php/312mm_brakes Cheers Craig.

Hi Karl, when you say you are going to use the standard radiator do you mean the one rfom the Corrado or the R32 engine one? The problem i face now is this is my next step and I want to buy a new radiator and new hoses, new everything just to make sure. I am using the BUB 3.2 24v Audi A3 engine. I know it is pretty much the same as the R32 motor. if anyone knows any different please let me know. There is obviously some sort of difference the reason I say that is when I look for engine codes for the 3.2 engines there are quite a few. VW list BML BFH Audi list BHE BPF BUB was also used in the EOS for VW which actually worries me now. LOL. Craig

I guess no one knows the answer to that, LOL. Reason was a garage told me due to the 3.2 being a FSI (direct injected) engine it would not work. Or are they just trying to confuse me (which is easily done! lol) Ok, well I have already been underway for a long time now and just had a thought, what radiator is everyone using? ie, the R32/Audi 3.2 one or the original corrado one? I am doing away with the mechanical water pump and installing a davies craig electrical water pump and controller. I have also purchased a set of twin 11" cooling fans but have never had them fitted. Just wondering what would be the best solution, that was all.

Hi guys I stumbled along this short thread today. Basically I hsve hit a wall with my project. As most, it is the ECU and to be honest in some respects I am regretting starting the project. :( Just thought I might ask for some help. :D I have decided that my only solution is to get a qualified electrician to finish what I started. I think I will be giving the car to a garage that will install a Motec system and then hopefully everything will be as right as rain. I havent driven the car for well over 18 months. :( The garage seem confident they can do it but they asked a couple of questions that I didnt know the answer to, such as variable cam capability, ect. where would I be able to find all the details about the enigne? Oh by the way I am using a 3.2 24V Audi BUB engine. basically the R32. :D The main reason is that it will alter the cost supposably. With regards to the throttle body would this be of any use? http://www.034motorsport.com/product_in ... b36ab6e1a4 Any help will be greatly appreciated. many thanks, Craig.

does anyone know if it possible to use the MoTec system with 24v engine? I am sure it is possible as it is just a computer, but I just want to know if it has been used or done before. Cheers.

Hi Karl, Are you aure that the 2.9 throttle body will be ok? the reason I ask is surely it is a small Diameter, if I am correct the the R32/VAG transverse 3.2 engine comes with a 75mm throttle body and the 2.8/2.9 VR6 coems with a 65mm throttle body. Surely this effect performance slightly? If you like I have found a kit from the US that looks really good it is from a company called 034motorsports. link here http://www.034motorsport.com/product_info.php?cPath=22_45&products_id=796 Out of curiousity, when you are sending your harness away for slicing and dicing which part are you sending? Image one, wiring harness for engine Image two, Harness for engine compartment Or will you be sending both? Cheers Craig.

Hi all, Been a couple of months now. How are these projects coming along? I am still looking for some inspiration. :D The 3.2 Audi enigne is almost ready for starting. It has been a long time since I have driven the Corrado and since I have been following this it is the only thing that has been keeping me going! LOL. The great thing about following this is it helps to iron out a couple of questions before them being asked. I have plans to install a rotrex on the 3.2 but I do have a couple of questions. :brickwall: Obviously both the VR6 2.8 AAA engine and the 3.2 BUB engine are similar. But will I face the same problems with the MAF? By looking at your photos MR Fusion I guess it should be slightly easier for an install as the intake manifold and throttle body face the opposite way compared to the 12v version. Mr. Fusion with regards to relocating the battery, eh where did you put it? in the boot? :confused4: Also did you fit the charger instead of the AC compressor? as I have been trying to calculate the space needed for the charger and I think I may need to loose the AC to make it work properly. But since living in Dubai that may not be an option. I will post photos of what I have done so far. Thanks Craig.

Hi Guys I have done a conversion on my Corrado, I put a 3.2 Audi Engine into my Corrado, it is still not working I admit but it should fire up in the next couple of days. I had some major issues with the wiring harness and Immobaliser but hopefully it should all be fixed, fine and dandy. The VR6 from a ABV engine does fit on the 3.2 with out any problems except a small amount of work on the fly wheel. With regards to the driveshafts they had to be modified slightly as they were slightly too large, so I had a machine shop make me a new set. They were not so expensive as fabrication in the UAE is very cheap. I actually very lucky to get my hands on a friends workshop and do most of the work myself. I think I have a couple of pictures will try and get hold of them. The main problem I had was the wiring which I made a complete pigs ear of! :(

that is a really good price! Can anyone confirm that the internals are stronger in the mk5 than the mk4 R32? Excellent! but will the car not become undrivable? whats the most that you can really put the front wheels of the corrado? I am almost finished with my conversion but also made a little bit of room for a rotrex, I have already worked out where all the piping will go but I want to make sure the engine is running perfectly before I go charging it.

Extremely sorry to hear about the car buddy. I know it is very unlikely but I will keep my eyes here in Dubai until I come back to the UK up north of Scotland. Out of curiousity, you didnt have the registration documents in the car did you? I will be up in Scotland for a couple of days before I meet up with the missus so wil definately have a look around the local ads. All the best mate.

Thank you very much guys.

Thank you very much. Any Ideas how long it usually takes them to delete the programme? As I need to send my ECU from Dubai and need it back before the 28th September. Due to this being the VW Audi's official club launch. Cheers for the info.

Stan, Who did the work on your ECU? Did you have the keys, transonder unit ect. with the engine? If so I would love to find out who did the work? I have just finished all the mechanical work on installing an Audi 3.2 into my C. Only problem was I didnt realy think it through when it came to the electrical side. IE. I have to make a choice on a standalone system now as I do not have the Transponder unit or the keys from the Audi. If anyone else is in the same situation I can recommend someone to contact in the UK. They are currently building me an ECU for an extremely reasonable price. please see http://www.mtechautomotive.co.uk/mainindex.html for more info. Cheers, Craig.
