Not touched the metering head. whats WUR? I got a 4 branch and a 3 inch exhaust system. no cat and stuff. I read a thread and they mention brakes binding or bearings, I deffo need to fit new bearings. I do remember getting 30+ mpg in the past. What do you thing might it be on the 2.0l?

I was wondering if somehow the mpg was linked to how hot the engine is running at? I normally get about 24/25 mpg to and from work( 25 miles round trip mostly motorway), and the motor normally gets up to a good running temp, But I just done a 60 round trip in a the daily all motorway on just touched 22mpg, and the only thing I noticed different was the temps, oil was 80oc and the coolant was about the same which is low compared to normal. Its very cold outside to this is a 16v.. any thoughts?

alright aide.. I didnt have much time as I was outside and had no light. I just ended up replacing the flange on the front, lower manifold gasket, cam cover gaskets ( these were fudged as there was oil all over the plug leads, I need new plugs now and dizzy cap. need to make a list lol) replaced the coolant for G20++ to.. and it did the trick, very happy its sorted now. Its must be the exact same issue my silver valver had but I had no idea what I was doing at that time. I'll have to do the cams next time. Im booked onto a rolling road so I want it done before then. I was very lucky I could get all these parts off the shelf at TPS, ECP and GSF, I had to be driven around them all by my granddad, I bought him some McEwans for his troubles :) Ryan

Yesterday the car started to play up. I should have sorted it out before painting the wheels for example.. I will never learn :( I need to replace the cam cover gaskets today and replace the flange on the head at the front. Ive been really lucky and a mate has sourced all the parts for me today and I will be collecting them soon. Question is I got KR cams in the Shed and I think this is the best chance Im gonna get to fit them. Ive fitted them before on my other valver, will these need to be perfectly timed up, if I leave marks on it I should be ok? whats the best thing I should do? thanks

yea the top isnt a VR its a valver

I've found a water leak coming from the head at the front where the water hose comes in, so I think it'll need a new rubber seal there at least

old thread, same issue, different car. The Daily :( Im gonna try the coolant bottle and cap change I think, new oil and coolant, hope it works. Its started this week, TBh oil levels where low and since I had this car its not had an oil change and filter change, so I'll get this sorted asap hopefully. It started misfiring badly today sounds like its chugging. sounds awful. I hope i've not fudged it

I bought and had a garage fit a set of handbrake cables from ECP. The end of the cable is not the same as the ones that were taken off. There was a ball on the end that sits on the hook that pulls the lever. My new ones dont have a ball, just a bit of metal on the end and they just dont work with the mk4 calipers, the gap on the lever is too large for the end of the cables I got.. Hope this makes sense. I will get a pic up to help.
