My mates std VR6 use to see 35pmg+ all the time. My G60 was always 25ish? It didn't mind a drink or 2!

Had mine for 3 years & done approx 40k in her, but I'm selling to a mate shortly (subject to his loan) But so glad she's going to this mate. He will look after it! Also will be on the board & at no rice still.

I want one! very similar to Darren's Golf - Gorgeous!! If I can find one that's been done properly and in good condition, I'm getting it! What are they like to insure?

Cheers mate, I'll have look Na, but the bodyshop would have had to drive it at some point. She's had it back for too long now for any blame to be put on them

Your problem sounds different to mine. Mines fine under load. I was getting it just as idle, mainly when cold. I think mine was a vacuum leak from the throttle body to the ecu. Will confirm when it back on the road.

The Mrs has a Mk4 golf, 1.4. Ever since she had it back from the bodyshop she's been complaining the biting point on the clutch is really high. How does the adjuster work on the Golfs? Is there any way of getting it to bite lower? Any help much appreciated Dan

Checked the vacuum hose last night. I couldn't see anything wrong? So I pulled it off, put it back on & it has seemed to sort it?? Not able to drive the car due to the split boost hose, so can't be sure as yet, but all looks promising!

Can't hurt to check it! Will let you know how it goes!

I'm not driving the car till the hose has been sorted. I have one on the way. I have replace the ecu hose about 6 months ago with silcone hose, but I suppose the blanking plug could have come out of the throttle body?? That would explain things. I'll have a check! Can't look till later as it's at home.

The G60 has sometimes been running a little lumpy lately when cold. Almost like a very small misfire, but only at idle. It still seems to perform ok. In it's service a few months ago, the plugs & leads weren't due for another few thousand miles, so I just figured it was time to change them when it started doing this. I have changed the plugs & leads now, but it still seems to be doing it. I have also changed the blue water sensor on the front of the head, but it's made no difference. Could it be the black one needs changing too? I have just found a split boost hose which shall be sorted this week. I don't suppose this is helping, but I can't see it being this that is the problem for it running a little lumpy?? Any ideas please give me a shout. Bit of head scratching going on???? :?

yeah mate! Too long! I'm just getting her ready now. MOT & Tax have just been done, need to replace bulbs in the boost gauge & some little bits like that, & replace the charger tensioner (which I have bought already) & it's pretty my ready to go. Should have it ready for no rice I would have thought.

IMO buy a modded G60, and any mods you were going to do to the VR will be well spent on the modded G60. Have a chat G-werks about making a G go fast. I've been thinking about selling mine again, had someone make me an offer on it today funnily enough. Going to take them out for a test drive tomorrow & make a decision in the next few weeks. If it is for sale soon, it'll be up on here 1st.
