Bit of double sided tape and I am sure it will be fine Brian!! Is never nice to see a car with a few bruises especially a mates!! You know what happened tho Brian, you cracked under the pressure of having the mighty 1.4 Polo behind you!!!  Hope is not too sore a one on the wallet, great time of year for it!! Good job you don't drink much otherwise you would be suicidal with hefty repair bills!! It was an enjoyable day, noticed Roddy had a few more than normal grey hairs tho due to the stress of it all   well worth it, cheers Roddy. Looking forward to the next one too and just glad the Polo made over standard power and didn't blow up!!! Will you still be the Daddy in a year Struan if your car lasts..  Thanks again -
How about combining the two and seeing how fast you can be driven whilst pissing out of a car!!
-
Yep, should be down to Inters this year, have been for the past 4 or 5, so as long as I am not busy with folio reviews and projects I will be making the trek down so might see you there. If I do make it should have a few more bits done by then and a few extra ponnies under the hood. Will see how it goes tho, know what i'd like to do but see if it happens!!
-
Needs a little more refining! You know how it is! Bit to busy with this stinking architecture at the moment tho. Will get it done sometime, along with the rear disc conversion and G60 front brakes have the parts for in the garage! More long term projects!
-
Is all good fun tho! Was thinking will have to get some pics of the interior and engine done when I get round to it! If I ever get round to finishing that rocker cover i have sat! Long term projects! Will do some after body shop ones as well when I get it in after the Golf is back from being painted to give me some transport! Will be on it's winter wheels then as well, god it is getting cold outside!!

Not going to be doing too much racing off lights, see if my front tyres can last longer than 6-7 months this time and that was with hardly any standing starts, think they'll have a bit more grip than yours Brian!!
-
Started to pass him when i was above a ton then had it up to 125mph on the clock, think the owner of said oak green Mk2 owner was a bit surprised!! Wish i could have had it flat out but some wank decided to pull out in front of us, I LOVE ABS  Saying that don't think there was too much left as was up about 6200-6400rpm doing that speed! Will have to see how much I get beaten by the G60 off the lights...don't fancy my chances on the dueller as you have a FAIR bit more torque than me!
-
Hello Bally, got mine from a VW dealer with FSH as well, 1 owner. Have been on the porka forum but don't think there is any pics of my car on there. Dubster82 sent some chops of it in to PVW before it was lowered and think it is in this month so could be there that you have seen it?? Had a go with my friend in his 8v and you see how the extra 40 ponnies pull you down the road faster, much fun!! Keeps up with MK2 Golf GTi's but haven't had a go against a corrado yet i don't think. One of the boys has a 16v Corrado tho so will have to see how it fares sometime! You enjoying your 16v??
-
Thanks Bally, few of my friends have the 1.4 8v's, I like them. Can't beat the sound of a 16v though
-
Am sure I saw one for sale somewhere Brian, will try and remember. Have a spare one sat for mine
-
Cool, i'll ask around, already have a disc setup for the back and a 285mm conversion for the front but thanks anyway. Was reading you'd just bought a G60, is all good, was thinking about buying a Mk2 Golf or Corrado G60 as love the supercharger sound but then wanted something newer so tried to find a Mk3 16v. Only managed to find 5 door ones which I didn't fancy so got my polo instead. Is all good in the end though.
-
fair play, you do worry a bit Roddy! Heard about that corner, sounds like it would have been good to be coming from South Deeside direction to see this happening in front! Might be on police camera action if we are lucky so we can all see!
-
Thanks Leew, will do. Think we have got most of the stuff over the years, just need to get it running then up to the bodyshop. You fancy a change from the Corrado or was it more of a toy. Might know some people who would be interested perhaps, what bits you got?
-
Good point Roddy, can't be easy putting the power down through the front wheels without a bit of wheel spin, diffs are the way forward but sadly don't have the pennies at the mo, maybe Inters next year :) That is if they make one for the Polo which they probably don't. You could always buy yourself something older like a Golf Mk2 GTI and get in to the track days too... Doesn't have to cost you an arm and a leg. Hope to do some with the Mk1 for a bit of experience if it ever gets finished!
-
Oh dear, shame you never got it done, my Dad and I are doing a Mk1 project as well, takes a while tho but maybe have it on the road this decade
-
Was just thinking, the 16v has less power and torque than your VR6 and was running 2 up as well was he not? So big power is not everything  Will be good to hear all the cars at the RR Day tho, remember the VR6 sounded goo on the rollers. Haven't heard mine yet or a G60. Looking forward to it. Oh and will take you out at the rolling road day for a spin if i don't see you before, sounds quite good up the revs, funny that being a 16v
-
Aye was meaning up by tullos, more of a fair match now you have yours lowered etc. Remember coming back from Star that time when your car was standard suspension, was quite amusing. The corrado must be a bit heavier than the Mk3?? Think mine only weighs 1025kg with driver. Bit heavier with me in it!
-
Look well smart, big fan of dished wheels, car grounds out occasionally on 15's so don't fancy going back to 14's. Borbet T's are they not? What did you have them on?
-
Looks worse than that at the mo, have the Mk1 out front and my sis's lupo up as well. Still no convinced by removing the bar in the front intakes, think I might get the towing eye cover flushed when it goes up to the body shop to get the few bits sorted! Did have it sitting that low when I first put the Knoi's on but had to be raised a few times as the roads round here aren't that great as you know!
-
Looks good Leew, wheels are nice are they 15's?? Have a set of Borbet C's kicking about i had on a Golf, quite happy with mine tho. Thanks for the offer.
-
Well I don't have 3k spare at the moment for the turbo kit which takes it to 160bhp so will prob jus be kicking out standard power on the rollers, maybe the mods have done will liberate a few more ponnies, who knows! There is a small matter of power to weight and low gearing tho Roddy in which areas I think my car is better than a Corrado! 8) In fact you might know about that after your duel with a certain low geared Mk3 16v   Although my car is not as grunty as I would like, enjoying it anyway, great fun, i'll have to take you out for a spin sometime if you want.
-
Thought you would have known it was in PVW anyway considering it was you who sent it you chocolate! See who gets the G60 conversion done first!
-
Yeh it was a chopped image tho, was before I got my coilovers on. Good little cars to drive, handle like a go kart cause they aren't much bigger than one! :D Still lots to be done but getting there!
-
Thought i'd post these up, was thinking about a Corrado but got this instead a few months ago.
-
IMO opinion, although there would be a lot of work in the transplant for the 20v T it is the more tunable engine giving you more bhp per £. It's be best going for the 225bhp TT engine or S3 unit as they have a stronger bottom end etc to cope with the extra power so therefore can cope with extra boost if you were to fit a larger T4 turbo later on. Not an expert in the slightest but know a bit about the work that goes in to a VR6 Turbo conversion. It does give the power as you can see from reading up on it, but if it was my money I would go for the newer, more modern engine. It really depends how far you would want to take the engine and how much you are able to budget for. Hope this helps??
