Can't remember where it was before, but was easier to find than here!
-
I have been following it...
-
I have toyo snow proxes 950 on the car (195/50 R15) which are a good tyre in the wet and work especially well with the cold winters up here Skid (frost and snow are a treat) This will be my second year of running them and have been impressed. Normally use T1s's but gonna change to the R's for next year
-
Very impressed :D
-
I would watch the gearbox on them, they are notorious for going, my mates one has had 3 clutches and a new box in under 60k (he is the second owner). They have a habbit of killing diffs, and have heard from a friend who works at VW of a box with 20k on it ejecting it's contents through the casing. My friends new box cost him the best part of 2k  Hope you got a warranty from the stealers
-
Congratulations Darren, glad everything went well.... So do you already have the baby alcantara recaro with 4 point harnesses  You might need an new estate car now (sell the passat), shame shame, RS2, 4 or 6, let the better half choose   Na seriously tho, all the best Marty
-
well put it this way, a certain forums guide was about as much use as a choc fire guard! The wiring was the easy bit, got dubster82 to do it!  Spent the following day making them fit better as they sit about 10mm proud and look stupid, you don't have to drill holes as they say! Alot of work and trial fitting but worth it Went for a power flow as my previous remus rubbed after it was lowered Thanks M
-
Don't you start darren  Get it all the time from Brian "I wish I could marry a charger" Walker... Just funning Jessie  I am gonna save for a bit then look at the options, 1.6 valver, turbo or charger for mine  Cheers tho Marty
-
Cheers loons, glad you did the update bud as I could not be bothered, all good 8)
-
Didn't quite make my night bud, was just happy as drunk when you phoned and was winning at pool! When Cheech phoned me to tell me about that thread on the beach forum that made my day as was highly amusing! Thanks coullstar for the compliment, don't know what my beard has to do with my car tho! If you want a personal slagging match will have to know who you are first!!! Cheers roddy, never seen that pic before! A girl I used to work with who had an Mk4 anniversary hated my wheel colour etc but I love them. I do stuff to my car to see if I like it or not and if people do, it is a bonus but i like driving my car rather than people looking at it. My car is done in MY taste and therefore every one is not going to like it but its good that some do. Thanks

Man you should get Lloyd hanging off the strut brace scattering gravel out the back then she might put you in her will for doing a good deed to society, well your street at least! Car is looking good buddy! Heard you have ordered some snow wheels for added clearing power for the rad-plough 8)
-
Fair play, will shut up, I sure it is not only our posts that have gone a bit off tangent
-
Brian, I don't know who or what you are talking about :D :D Have you been drinking Optimax again?? Unfortunately a rear ending saxo driver resulted in Mr R Starr being unable to attend the RR Day to see what his was kicking out  At least I dealt with a certain cocky Golf Gti 8v owner, don't mind getting beat by a fellow 16v  Need more POWER
-
Brian, Jeesus Marty, what did you do to that poor blue 16v???? Might have been guilty of keeping his rear bumper a bit warm, all in good fun tho. Didn't get near enough to yours to wind you up :D Heard that an Evo had an unfortunate incident on the same roundabout as yours going to Star the other day, must be cursed!! Think i'll be going the long way round if I need to go again, jus incase! :?
-
Roddy, Sounds nice, yeh it was a good laugh, after windin martin up, headed out the dueller with Ringostar's 16v and had a good battle, much fun. On the way out whipped some boy in a Mk3 gti who was trying to keep me behind him, the three of us...anon Mk3, Ringo and myself came across another Corrado who saw us coming a booted it as well, was amusing, a mini dub wars! Had a good go against Martin off the lights to wind him up, but was a bit ambitous at the speed I launched it in to second and it decided it didn't want to play the game so made a nice noise, ccccccrrrrunch. Was a good laugh tho. Wasn't wheelspinning too much, think Martin was struggling a wee bit to get traction tho in 2nd as well.
-
So i get to add Corrado G60 to the list of battles won  Obviously I would allow you a re-match in the dry if I was fair, but i'm a bad loser so I won't  Was beside you at the lights, pulled away to hear something sweet revving but not going anywhere, then it was like a scene from Top Gun, the girlfriend was like, where'd he go... I was like, where'd whoooooooooo go!! Wasn't so smart when I passed the Volvo painted in nice blue and yellow squares jus up the road, doing almost double the limit!! Good job they were waiting to escort those coaches or would have some points for winning the race and I am not speaking about brownie points either
-
My friends dad had a mint 10V quattro but sold it before I could ask to be taken for a spin  To be honest Roddy I wouldn't have the cash to run a VR6, am sure my driving style would EAT fuel and being an older car without a warranty would be more costly to fix.... Actually bought the car when Charlie was off-shore  Was noticing a rediculous amount of police out, was down the, cough...beach....cough the other night and was having a bit of banter with another VR6 engine'd VW you are familiar with, but luckily managed to escpape getting collared. Martin performed a "drive by" in his VR with his induction kit back on, sounded BRUTAL! Had a go off the lights with him and the window down, can't hear properly now in my right ear after he booted it  Was worth it.
-
Shame it wasn't a summer service so you could enjoy your new found bip  Not exactly ideal road conditions!! Interesting drive home from Star, defo know my wipers work now!!
-
Need to get mine "serviced" by Star Brian, that is some impressive figures!

Of course he lives in a bubble EssThree, he thinks that a corrado VR6 is the best car EVER. His bubble is now on cloud 9 after watching a certain motoring program a couple of weeks ago :D :D I am running now before I get linched   Only joking Rodders before you get your soapbox out. A certain silver polo does not too bad considering what it is!! Feel free to correct me EssThree, but when we were on the duel carriageway in to town I believe i was keeping pace with you till about 70mph at which point I was starting to hold you up, you fancy seeing how it compares to yours Rodders?? I know what you are supposed to do with your right foot!!  Got pipped by a legendary Corrado the other night, a 16v one, which I believe was the starting point, kind of, of this thread, that was a 1.8 tho. Was side by side till top end in fourth at which point the Corrado pulled away so have lost the title of fastest thing on 4 wheels Roddy! Great thread tho, much amusement reading it, nothing like a bit of banter! :D

Not 100% sure Ross, but think that it was due to the more sophisticated ecu and fuel injection system that the ABF came with that gave it the bit more power and bit better torque over the KR. It obvioulsy has the benifit of being newer and technology moves on. To get the best gains out of the engine you would be best to fit the whole lot, ecu etc in to yours, but i am not sure how you would stand fitting the engine as IIRC the ABF 2.0 is the taller block and not sure if you would have to move your mounts to get it under the bonnet?? Don't have a scoobie about the electric side of things but i'm sure you could make it fit if you wanted to! At least you would have all the kit, clocks etc. Worst case, you get it in and run it on the k-jet you would still have a 2.0 over yours and you could get it set up a bit better with something like a K-Star or whatever. How many miles has the 2.0 got on it?? They are nice engines as my mate has one in his Golf, would be something a bit different in the Corrado!! :D Are you just sick of having some close calls with a certain small silver VW and need more power??  Martin

Have just slapped a set of Toyo Snowprox 950's on mine, not sure of the price for 14's as mine are 15's. You would have to go for the Snowprox 940's I think as they do them in the size you are after. Hope this helps.

Was a very enjoyable day apart from loosing feeling in my feet! Thanks again to Roddy. Was very pleased with my figures, hopefully a good starting point for more work when the funds allow. Din Power: 115.5 bhp @ Wheels: 73.5 bhp Torque: 99 lbf-ft

How about... 50bhp to get it moving out of the car park??

Will just have to make sure you keep it on the road next time Brian!!! Perhaps some new tyres would be a good idea!!!! Are you walking to Star to pick up your car!!! Taxi bill is in the post for the lift home
