  1. The exhaust system has just been replaced a few weeks before the sale, i've got the receipt for the downpipe and centre section from a VW parts place, but the backbox was from somewhere else, so it could possibly be from another corrado or an after market item, i don't know enough about them yet to know what's what.
  2. The upgraded wiring looms. Where from, how much, and how easy to fit? Mines got Xenon bulbs in but at the minute i'd be better hanging some candle lit lanterns off the front bumper, can see bugger all at night
  3. Its a very straight car, bodywork and interior is certainly in very good condition. There are a few lil engine problems that need looking it at. Its due a cambelt change, there is a small oil leak, and it idles irratically from time to time, but ive been told this is a common problem solved easily. Hopefully a thorough service should get the engine back to its best though, as it has full service history too
  4. 1990 (private plate included in the sale), 118k, for the tidy sum of £1800 Not bad i reckon
  5. After having no car for 3 months, followed by a month of driving my mum's escort, i've finally got myself another VW. A totally standard, Tornado red, 1.8 16V Corrado: First things first is a thorough service, then i think i'll be keeping it standard for a while.
  6. yes, it is covered as a classic by lancaster car insurance, so happy days once i turn 21
  7. My insurance is around £1000 next year, already got a quote for that, and that'll be paid monthly, courtesy of my £200 a month payrise, then the year after that i'll be 21 (in april) so it'll be time for some classic insurance.
  8. sweet, i'd have one!! I live in Derby and osnabruck is our sister city in Germany, bit of knowledge for ya there
  9. I've heard there is a buying guide on here somewhere, can someone point me in the right direction? Ta.
  10. Scarlett - Thats a very nice Corrado, i spotted it for sale on E38. Although £2000 is the upper limit of my budget, and i've just found out that my insurance company wants to take an extra £380 off me to cover my insurance until August, so im looking at around £1700 now as my budget.
  11. Hello people. I've got £1500-£2000 to spend on a Corrado, as i want something a little different from the VW range, as ive owned a mk2 golf and a mk2 polo saloon before. Im looking at either the 1.8 16V or the 2.0 16V model. Can anyone tell me what the benefits are of choosing the later 2.0 over the earlier 1.8? It would seem that all the electrical goodies are the same and the older 1.8 is faster. So any information would be greatly appreciated. Ta
