Soaking wet REAR left carpet but all others bone dry.
mattosmond replied to aclwalker's topic in Interior
on my mk3 golf with having aftermarket rear clusters they didn't seal as well as oem so leaked water into my boot........ maybe the same on the rado,,,, i just put sealant around the foam gasket and it worked a treat :) the lights were in pro...... -
thanks jazzdevil. i am going to buy the bits today, then fit this evening... how long do you reckon it will take.......... it doesn't look too hard..... do the leads just push on- pull off of the spark plugs and dizzy cap.......
-
is this all easy to fit? and where is it best to get it from GSF, euro car parts or stealers...... cheers,
-
hi guys, where my four leads go into my distributor, one of them has snapped what is inside at the end that meets the distributor. half of the item is in the wire and the other in the distributor. Is it a spark plug or what? how can i fix this? cheers matt

Hi guys, i have now bought a car after seling mine, it is a '96 N mk3 gti 8v with 100,000 on the clock in dragon green last owner 6 years. got it for £1400!!!! bit of a steal me thinks! It will do me for my last year at uni before i can earn some proper money and get a vr6 rado........ I'll get some pics up later... damn i wish it was a rado though :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

If you appeal then it will go to an independent advisor before court, and these guys usually sort out the argument, they did with my parking ticket. Don't let them just win. I hate the police being so petty, they are obviously d*cks.

He obviously did..... he went to alot of botehr for what in essence isn't a rare car at all...... but it was well looked after and had a nice spec,,, air con sunroof, cd, handsfree, tt wheels, etc.....
-
He came picked it up, cash in hand thank you very much..... then off he went to fishguard...... so i am seeking a car asap.....
-
test drive them all if you haven't already... see which one suites your style best......
-
well, the most i think the colour concept above is worth is £1850 ish...... but it wouldn't be a bad buy coz if it wasn't worth enough when i wantec to sell i could break it..... heated black leather etc.... Toad, i have to admit to being a bit of a stiff about things like cat recorded cars.... but worth a go all the same......
-
Dec, it was just a mk4 golf 1.6se 1998 'S' with 97.5K on the clock........... If it was a corrado i would probably understand....
-
Well, the guy rang me 2 minutes after the bidding had ended, and has rung everyday since keeping me informed about fligths etc.... Seems genuine, has got 98 feedback, so not 0 like most of the scammers have.....

I think this story is quite amusing but very weird at the same time! i have had my car advertised for about 2-3 months now with no real interest, so i put it on ebay for the 2nd time.... It sold for £3350 instead of £2800 the 1st time (didn't make the reserve). The guy who bought it is flying over form Munster in Ireland today at 6pm to bournemouth airport where we are going to do the deal. then he will dive to Fishguard and catch the ferry to the south of ireland then drive all the way to munster! the point is that my car has sold for fair money, not cheap but not expensive (you know what i mean). But he has paid for an air fare, loads of petrol and a ferry crossing just to buy a fair priced mk4 golf 1.6!!!! that is pretty serious!!! Does anybody know why somebody would do this? he said he's done it 5 times before....... I am taking someone with me incase he gets frisky then us southern fairies will have to get down........
-
Good luck ..... Hope it goes well

Try totton windscreens (if your nearish southampton),,,,,, they are mobile and very reasonable prices......
-
Sorry i forgot to mention the other reason why i am looknig at mk3 golf gti's the insurance is £ 400 cheaper than a 16v rado...... i WILL get a rado but for now a mk3 would do a job (it will only be for a year then i will be able to afford a nice C),,,,,, i have had a mk3 1.4l for my first car and that was super reliable etc.... Are the 8v lumps reliable? Are the 16v lumps reliable? the 16v suprisingly is cheaper on insurance for me but they are all way over priced compare to the 8v's!!!!!!! Thanks Toad for the offer of help, i will pm when i know when i can go have a look,,,, :cyclops2: the guy is on holiday i think, his phone keeps going to answerphone...... Most of my miles are on the motorway steaming up and down from newcastle to southampton.... So as long as it has some high end pull that would be great..... Keep up the good advice guys, cheers matt

Hi guys, i haven't found the right rado yet,  so i think i am going to settle for a golf for another year..... I am wanting a mk3 gti....... I have found a 2.0 8v colour concept 3dr in black with heated black leather, fsh, 113,000 on a 96 'n' = whats it worth? Has anyone owned a mk3 gti 8v or 16v and could you give me some advice as to what to look for.... any common faults!!!!!!! Is the 2.0 8v the same engine thats in the late rado's? Cheers, Also is there anyone down in southampton who would come and look at some cars with me (for some cash) and give them the once over and possibly a service after... matt
-
i have tried churchill.com and found them to be competitive...... try putting one of your parents on as a named driver.... this dropped my quote by £100 but with some insures it raises it... it is swings and roundabouts....
