  2. 16: early window and mirror switches £5 I'll take these please. Send me a PM.
  3. Hi do/did the electric windows all work? Price posted to AB52 for both switches the loom and the control box (if all available) please. Thanks Ian
  4. Hi I'm looking at getting a compressor for home as I have a few air tools. Does anyone have one and if so what size/type is it? Ideally it would be on wheels and electric powered. What size of air tank do you need to easily run say an air gun/impact wrench or an air sander or drill without worrying about running out of air? Any help much appreciated. Cheers Ian
  5. I'm REALLY desperate its totally knackered and car is off road so need it fixed tomorrow so even ebay is no use. Hopefully the breakers will have something. Fingers crossed.
  6. HI yeah I thought they would probably be the same, was hoping that a more common car might carry the same pump. Will see what I can come up with tomorrow. Thanks for looking Ian
  7. Hi does anyone know if any other models share power steering pumps with the VR6? Mines has basically disintegrated today and I need to go to the breakers tomorrow and try and pick something up. Was planning on whipping mine off and taking it with me to see if i can find anything suitable but would be a great help if anyone knew one from another car that would "fit" or "do"? Cheers Ian
  8. Yeah I remember I was in there removing an old alarm system a while back so probably disturbed it then. Thanks again for your help. Ian
  9. Cool, I'll give that a try, just to clarify is that the one under the dash at the drivers side?
  10. BUMP! Hi fla, I bought the oil sensor from you if you remember. I have the same problem replaced the sensor and remade the spade but still --- on the MFA. Did you find out what was wrong with yours? Was it the G2 connector or the U1 connector like krnau suggested? Will check those myself later in the week but just found this thread after I'd called it a day. Any help much appreciated. Cheers Ian
  11. Just bought a set of winter tyres from a guy on here and another forum I visit and they are absolutely fantastic in the snow! I live in Aberdeenshire and snow here has been pretty mental this winter and where I live I am surrounded by steep hills. A few mornings I have seen cars struggling and not making it over the hill and my Corrado with the winter tyres just walks it. Can't comment on how they will last but I'm intending running 2 sets of wheels/tyres on all my cars from now on. The ones I am using are Michelin Alpins. Highly recommended.
  12. Here's a link to the Beat 500 (not sure if it's the same as the 700 though) wiring diagram the colours aren't actually named but with the loom in front of you you might be able to work it out. http://www.beat-audio.co.uk/files/BEAT500_manual.pdf There are some more manuals on the site one may be of help.
  13. Yeah if it's in good working order and not too costly! PM me the details. Cheers Ian
  14. Hi does anyone have the part number for the oil temp sender on a VR6? It's the little brass one with green wire going to it on top of the filter housing.
  15. Almost certainly the gearbox earth seeing as problem not there before clutch change. Symptoms definitely point to an earthing problem in my experience. As someone said before check battery terminals tight and both ends of the earth also connected/tight.

    Stray plug

Looks like the plug for the lambda sensor to me.
  17. Hi, having idle problems so cleaned the ISV but then realised it doesn't "buzz" or vibrate when ignition on. Checked the volts across the pins and it's only reading approx 1 volt. Have fed the ISV with a 12v supply and it clicks away as I presume it is supposed to but nothing on its own supply. Any ideas where the supply comes from or if anything else is on the same circuit so that I can check this out further? I presume there is supposed to be 12v regardless of engine temps etc? Thanks Ian
  18. Wasn't price I was bothered about! Didn't think I'd be able to get from VW what with it not technically being VW air-con. Thats cool though I'll give them a shout. Thanks
  19. Hi anyone know where I can pick up a new receiver/drier for the diavia air-con system? Just bought a setup on the classifieds and been looking into it and apparently the receiver/drier should be replaced? Just want to know where I can get one. Cheers Ian
  20. Nah its a VR6 one I need. Think I'll talk to the seller and see what he says about packaging and try some of the couriers people have suggested. If anyone has had any success in sending bonnets undamaged I'd be keen to hear about it.
  21. Hi just wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to get a Corrado bonnet from Bedford area to Aberdeenshire Scotland cheaply and without damage? Trying to buy one from someone in the classifies at the moment but he says he had probs he last time he sent one. Just wondering if anyone can recommend a "careful" courier? Cheers Ian
  22. I don't want to put in an old sensor I'm needing to know if the sensor for an early car would fit. I can buy a new sensor for an early car with the wire already attached but I'm struggling to get the wiring for the later sensor. I have been trying to get some off of a guy who is breaking a car but he doesn't seem overly keen to get them posted. If someone could confirm if anywhere sells the later sensors with "loom" included then I have no probs buying them. I tried 2 VW dealers and neither were very helpful saying that the part was obsolete.
  23. Anyone know the difference between early and late front sensors? I have late sensors whis seem to be a sensor and a seperate loom attached by multi plug. My loom/wiring from sensor to strut top is damaged and I'm struggling to get a replacement so I was wondering if an early sensor would fit as I believe they are a 1 piece item with wiring fully attached. Anyone any idea if an early sensor would fit or where I could get the loom for a later one? Thanks.
  24. If you're definitely not going to be doing any more of these would you consider a "howto" or some sort of guide detailing exactly whats involved so that other people can benefit? Cheers. Ian
