  1. I've got an early Mk2, split side windows, 5 door, small bumpers. Its had an easy life, but still tinkering to get it back up to scratch. The plan is it'll be my daily driver and have a Rado for fun. Atleast then one of them should work so I'll never be carless! :D A few pics... http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e98/Tom_vRS/Golf GTI/DSC00029.jpg http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e98/Tom_vRS/Golf GTI/DSC00031.jpg http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e98/Tom_vRS/Golf GTI/DSC00030.jpg http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e98/Tom_vRS/Golf GTI/DSC00028.jpg http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e98/Tom_vRS/Golf GTI/DSC00024.jpg http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e98/Tom_vRS/Golf GTI/DSC00027.jpg
  2. have I missed the point or is that just a hilarious suggestion?
  3. I would expect a single panel respray (including blending with surrounding panels etc) to cost in the region of £2-300.
  4. I'm really not keen. The headlights don't particularly offend me - they just don't look great. But those fogs are terrible.
  5. I think its a good price - should be good when done. Nice and smoooth.
  6. Genesis Profile amps rock! :D And as it happens I'm selling both of mine - I have a Profile 4 and a Profile Sub. PM me for more info pending a for sale thread... :D
  7. Very nice mate. The pods look great too - well worth the cash imo. Not too shy with the kit either! Focal subs are lovely! :D
  8. Just noticed its a VR6 - but with an old style dash!
  9. Looks great, nice wheels too. I do love a grey Rado... :D
  10. Er, yellow green fluid is coolant in my books! Especially if it goes to the radiator!
  11. Love the car, like your style fella. Very very nice. After something similar myself.
  12. Wow - only just seen this thread - what a car. Are they Corrado door handles? As for the chrome - looks spot on. :D
  13. Nice looking car fella. I love the colour... looks lush. He he, havent even got a Rado yet, but my 312s from the Fabia will be coming off to go onto it when I get rid!
  14. Joel - fancy seeing you here! I dont think this car is going to be "road legal" once its done...
  15. I'd say mileage most definately is an issue with vr's mate, in conjunction with history, condition, etc. But there are plenty of things that go wrong on vr's from 100k miles onwards. And most of em aren't exactly cheap.[/quote:842b6] What sort of problems can they suffer from then fella? Thanks for the advice so far! :D
  16. Ok, so I need to look out for a late (L onwards) VR6 with black interior, black heated leather recaros and a/c. Sorted. Is there any issues with mileage? Most seem to be 150k or £5k+... I think I'm happy to spend about £4k, and I dont mind doing a little tinkering. Is a/c a possible retrofit if I cant find one with it fitted? And I keep seeing "karmann" badges on the consoles - whats that all about!?
  17. Helpful stuff so far, cheers! So a/c isn't a factory standard thing? Do many models have a/c - its quite important imho! What about dash board and carpet colour etc?- are they all black? Do any models have electric or heated seats?
  18. Well, I currently drive a Fabia vRS - as good as it is, I'm going for a change. I have a MK2 Golf GTI that I've returned to a good reliable standard, and its pretty economical so I'm going to use that as a daily driver. But I also want a Corrado VR6. I know nothing about specs, performance figures, which models are desireable, changes throughout the production period etc. What came as standard? What options were available? What can be retrofitted? So any advice required! Thanks in advance! Tom.
