  1. Car is just about finished now, I did tell them I was in no hurry the mechanic at the bodyshop is checking out a very small oil leak, sump/gearbox area  hopefully nothing costly!! Hoping to have it back on the road in the next couple of weeks, will need an MOT first, which shouldn't be a problem, get it taxed and then fit this nice dateless plate I picked up on Ebay :bonk:
  2. Welcome, pics required or we don't believe you :worthless:

  4. The bolster wear comes from getting in and out as you will know, although its low mileage, being around London probably means a lot of short journeys, stopping/starting - in and out Q 1: I think its a very nice upgrade and better puting the money into something newer, rather than firing cash into the 4mo only to get none of it back. Q 2: Swings and roundabouts, they will all lose money, but I think the 32 has lost the biggest amount already, therefore less to lose.

  11. R32....I rest my case :smug: Also from a safety point for your wife and kids, a sprinkle of snow or ice and that BMW if not in confident hands will be all over the road, whereas the R32s AWD is what she's used to in the 4mo A teaser>>http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201232481136146/sort/default/usedcars/engine-size-cars/3l_to_3-9l/price-to/15000/maximum-mileage/up_to_40000_miles/price-from/10000/quantity-of-doors/5/model/golf/make/volkswagen/onesearchad/used/onesearchad/nearlynew/onesearchad/new/radius/1500/page/1/postcode/ky168rz?logcode=p

  13. Another search worth considering http://pistonheads.co.uk/sales/list.asp?s=171&dist=10&pc=&min=14000&max=17500&y1=&y2=&txt=&px=&filter=TP&o=p&Submit=Search maybe the tax is high on those, if so, these are a good buy http://www.autotrader.co.uk/search/used/cars/audi/a3/postcode/ky168rz/radius/1500/onesearchad/used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew/engine-size-cars/2l_to_2-5l/fuel-type/petrol/sort/default/price-to/17000/price-from/13000/maximum-mileage/up_to_40000_miles/quantity-of-doors/5
  14. A few here>>http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/list.asp?s=692&dist=10&pc=&min=&max=&y1=&y2=&txt=pirelli&px=&filter=TP&o=p&Submit=Search which you've probably seen, at £15k, that's top R32 money, I think a lot of the 32s are used as weekend cars due to the fuel/running costs, therefore tend to be more looked after, whats the tax on the Pirelli per year?
  15. I would stay well clear of the Pirelli, you said yourself..... Unfortunately the car seems a little unloved with a myriad of scratches, a hole in the seat bolster, kerbed alloys (which the dealer has just refurbed) and three different tyres on the 4 alloys. The dealer said he could get the scratches and bolster fixed so it would be almost invisible. But will the scratches come back in a year of two? Its also probably been totally thrashed if the cosmetic appearance is anything to go by, you could pick up a nice MK5 R32 for probably less money
  16. If you go onto your own feedback page, go to the bottom, 3 options regarding feedback, last one is follow up feedback left, I think you can leave further comments from there
  17. Good man, it is Saturday after all :drinking: Aye, I remember posting about a R32 engine that was for sale, again at the top I wrote in bold NOT MINE a while later I got a PM asking how much I would charge to fit the bloody thing :silly:

  20. Funny old thread this for 2 reasons..... 1st being, the OP mucked me about regarding a 90mm splitter and 2ndly, I really worry about the Peugeot fraternaty now that U-no-Who has a 205 :suprised: No offence intended to either party
  21. Nah, that was a few years ago now, I bought it from Paul (bigvw on Scottishvag) not long after he got it from you and obviously after he had taken all the goodies was a great wee Golf, went like $hitt of a shovel
