Duecenickletreyg60, (from what ive herd from this forum over the years), changing the cam - shifts the torque from bottom end to top end, i have left mine as standard and think with all the speed camera round at the mo its best left that way, if u want to upgrade ur g60 i would chip ur ecu to match ur charger , 4 branch super sprint manifold, lighten fly wheel, front mounted ic, screw the ac, (if its that hot get down the pub), ditching the ac will also give u abit more performance then add an oil cooler. porting the engine would be sumthing id do after all that, but thats my opinion, others might disagree.... good luck and do it b4 summer coz u dont want to be tinkering on the motor when ur buds r down the pub ....

if its the crank shaft oil seal, does that mean ill have to take apart the whole engine ? charger/alt/head ect to get to the inside of the bottom end ? please so no its easier...
-
hi, unfortunatley i dont have a pic but there is a leak that looks like its comming from the side of the engine, oil seeping from the side where the belts are, from wot i can see it could be leaking out of the bottom crank round where the engine mount is. any1 know of where i could expect it to be ? i`ve just changed the sump gasket and thought it was leaking from that, but its coming down from a little above that.... Any advice apriciated :thumb right:

haha yes it is quite dangerous, y do u need the petrol so bad ? sounds like alot of trouble to go through. i hope ur not sum1 i`ve cut up and ur really talking about drilling my car... :D

trying to think of the machanical pricables in this... wouldnt it give i slightly quicker response to the throttle closing ? i can only see it dumping the air at lower gear changes as the butterflies closer to being on full throttle.. i dont think ill try it if no 1 else has tried it..

Just wanted to know if any ppl here have adjusted the throttle rod on their throttle body to close earlier after fitting a boost deletion kit ? i`ve herd it can help the car run smoother ? Or does it just allow the boost to be dumped on lower throttle ? Just want to know that if i adjusted it, could this leave me open to damaging the engine ?

thanks, ill just make sure i make the ecu is acessable. so if they only check the ecu, how do they adjust the fuel and air ratio ?

hi, quick post probably only needs 1 answer... i`ve done a g60 conversion on a mk1, im taking it to get tunned and rolling roaded, never done it before so my question is, will i need a diagnostic plug ? basically i have a chopped engine loom for the sensers to ECU ect and the dash is the original wiring. what exactly do they fiddle with when it goes for a rolling road and tune ? And is there anything i should ask while im there or check they do ? cheers, Dave..

Where can i get that valve pete ? how much is it ?

UPDATE Thanks: newcomer: Revs just drop when started
Dave_P replied to kingbal's topic in Engine Bay
sounds like its the isv, if u unplug it it will make ur revs bounce up and down, its called a stabliser coz it stablises ur rev`s. sure u`v plugged it back in ? -
yes ur right pete, just remembered that about the ecu vacum. i`ve plugged that outlet now and connected it to the break vacum pipe. i can`t drive it at the mo coz my cars blocked in the garage, but when starting and idling the boost guage needle is abit shack n stevens at "-0.4" bar, is this right ? if i rev, it smoothly rises to "0" bar will i only see it go higher when driving ? and does wot i said about it on idle sound ok ?
-
Samw happened to me last year, flooring it over taking and a cloud of white smoke blow out the back.... head gasket mate !
-
ok.. 1st - Can i connect my new boost guage to the old, blanked off carbon canister outlet at the back of the inlet manifold ? If not wheres the best place ? 2nd - I have a boost return deletion on my G60, was wondering if i could connect a dump valve to the isv, isn`t that where the new wooshing noise is comming from ? so i`ll connect it to the isv and put the filter on the other side, then it should blow off only under high boost ? or am i wrong ? Cheers all and merry Christmas haha !

cheers supercharged yes g60 supercharged, i`m getting my sump back from a fabricator tuesday as i had a oil temp sender tapped in. is the wt sumthing u can simply drop in ? may aswell whilst its off, can i get it from gsf of eurocar parts ? how much am i lookin at ?

i dont know how to post pics on here buttles.. sorry.

so i can should use the g60 gasket copper greased ? what should i torque it to ? 5nb ? Is it comon that the g60 sump slightly seeps oil over time ?
-
Hi can anyone tell me what torque i need to tighten the 20 sump bolts ? Also is it advisable to add a silicone seal to either side of the sump gasket ? I say this coz i`ve picked up afew engines in my time and noticed silicone seal, and i`ve always noticed slight leaks, (with and without silicone tho), is this comon ? Or would this probably be the bolts not torqued ? Any help/advice please..

Any1 tried shells new v-power petrol ? is it any good ? whats the best for your car ? i have a G60 and am interested whats the best for mine...

Thanks for the info guys, i do agree with the front grill being big enough to vent loads of air into the engine bay but i have an intercooler the full length of it and then the rad and super charger banged up fairly close behind it. Thats why i was thinking of vents at the wing, and ofcourse a bit of ducting fitted so it channels a direct feed to the induction cone. A bonnet vent was something i thought of.... but scrapped that coz they only look good on a mustang, thats why i was saying what about the O2 spray ? i thought maybe i should concentrate on chilling the air IN the cooler and not b4 it gets in so much. As for the TVR vacum, well, that sounds like a mod thats gona tack quite abit of work and £££.... Any1 more thoughts ?
-
i have already done the boost return deleate, i have a front mounted intercooler and a lower termostat in the water pump. oil cooler is on my list for next spring, but i`m just debaiting whats better, cool air direct to the induction kit or that cold water mist kit ??? i think cool air straight to the induction kit would be best as that O2 stuff imo could eventually damage the intercooler fins ??
-
Hi just wondering what u all would recomend as my best option for keeping the engine bay cool. i`m finishing a g60 conversion on a mk1 cab and was looking at fitting some sprinter vents on the wing to allow cool air to flow straight in to the air induction cone. Then i thought instead of undergoing this body work mod i could possibly get the same results fitting one of those O2 cooler spray kits e.g here.. http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/products/ ... =DEI080131 any thoughts would be greatly welcome..

ok i have identified the plugs, can any1 tell me where the following plugs go on the engine - injecters air temp start full throttle switch main power i am reffering to the link "charger" posted above. thats where i got the names of the connectors from. cheers!!!!
