GazzaG60 replied to sefton's topic in General Car Chat
agreed. i get supersports too...or have i already got um -
Try AutoGlym interior shampoo. I smoke n so did the previous owner. tis good. used it on roof etc. on the seats i use leather shampoo and leather treatment cream-same brand

No mines would you believe it from a Subaru tuner Jap-innovations in Oldham. The owners are mates of mine. Their exhausts have gone down a treat with the subaru people. sound is awesome. Anyway the car was taken to the exhaust maker and was made for the car.I decided to have the cat removed as mine is a may 92. Sound is loud but great if you like that sort of thing.think removing the cat did the job. I have straight thru until the back where i have 2 boxes in the last bit under the fuel tank area as the std does. end is like the std one bout 90mm. think it is 2.5" pipe Fit is perfect. does not touch or bang on any part of the car as some ive seen have like round the rear axle area. I think it does a little for me in the power stakes, bit more responsive maybe. i know on the subarus they have been getting 30hp ish from a system turbo back. seems high but dyno proven i believe Not fitting it myself was also a bonus.

I reckon my custom made with cat removed is a better fit than any exhaust available. I have fitted supersprint, magnex etc to various cars. reckon id spend the extra 50 quid n get it custom made so that you just pick up your car and away you go. noisy though. problem is it sounds like 400hp....

Im in oldham got um from venom got um next day paid bout 464 dunno exact drops. splitter catches a lot on speed bumps n that was on 17" rims. from lowered ok, rear not at all due to wheel ofset. the platform would hit the tyre. was running 7.5 rims with bout 37 offset. needed pushing out with 10-15mm spacers or a better offset. got rid of those now. runnnig std rims at mo so was able to drop it properly. think i have 23.5" front and 24" rear from the ground to centre of arch. Tried to get bonrath blue mounts but they are rocking horse doodah. got uprated rubber instead from GCC with 17" wheels and bnasically std ride height(lower at front) the car handled as good as any FWD car i have driven (except my scirocco). on the std wheels with pretty poor winter tyres it is more front end slidy instead of the grip and neutral/oversteer of the 17". Soaks up our crap roads good too. If you wanna have a quick spin somtime to give it a feel ill take you out. the soggy 100k std stuff made lots more noise than this. get some poly rear top mount bushes too. they r cheap as Mk1 and Mk2(us) are the same at the back one warning. if you are replacing the original stuff like i did. get 4 new bolts for the front n cut the old ones off.

i got um, i like um. think ive posted about this before. just the wheel ofset and lowering it issues with the back end
-
i got one o those. had to re glue it a couple of times. not the small cone but the edging on the bottom of the large cone. always seemed to be sturdy though thats why i repaired instead of binned. goona bin and get a new one. what do people use. i know the air box is supposed to be better but in my experience it aint. I cant wake the neighbours without it too

Is this really necessary. My car hasn't come on fan for around 3 months-yes it is working. I thought about this in the past. My car seems to run best between 78-90 degrees. now at the moment it seems to struggle to reach higher temps. correct me if im wrong but 82.2 is bout 180F-ideal running temps. therefore would i run too cool with one of these thermostats/fan switches for my likeing. Also would it not be better to just rid ourselves of the heat exchanger we call a oil cooler and fit a proper one instead as a start pls advise cos i may be full of it

think you can get um from GPC for around 160 a rim not cheap but if u need um..

north does sound good. not that i dont like driving but... A show meet for the summer may be good too

Hello. I'm a Newbie and just want to introduce myself
GazzaG60 replied to G60ING's topic in Engine Bay
welcome to more expensive side of the water. hope others dont mind me saying that i feel the vortex is a good distance technically ahead of us in the UK and so we welcome your input. Having said that we love our cars just as much as you do and wanna improve too. lets hope our cooler air and better??? fuel will give us 200whp easier -
Im on a 92 G60 without CAT n my mot is due soon aswell. I was told to set it to 1.5% ish but 3 maybe ok. i can tell that mine is running rich so a tweak on the co_pot is needed. think 450-500ohm is what is needed.mines at 427 at the moment. not sure if its more is riher or not as there seems to be a difference of opinion on this one. I was told to put the std chip back in too

no knock sensor on a k-jet. timing must manually be retarded probly 4-6 deg in order for 95ron to be usable. poo fuel economy and power. cheaper to run on 98ron than do this i reckon My G60 has a knock sensor, like all difigiant will run on 95 but it aint great or recommended. compression over 9 to 1 requires more octane really anyway thought peeps bought gtis n Cs to go quick need good locomotion lotion to get good motion
-
cheers. think i may pick one up. did you have to set yours or was it ok anyway. What did you set it to with the analyser and did it run ok. i dont have an AF gauge yet c.
-
how much was the gas analyser? sounds handy. take it you can use it to set emmissions before you get to the station. what does your Co_pot ohm at when the idle is set to pass a ticket

i understand exactly what you mean. the kjet uses a metering head than needs some sort of airbox/space so that the pivot action that deturmines fuel supply can work. that is why i keep my airbox. not sure on what the inlet is like on the corrado kjet but on the sky it has about a 60mm tubo on the corner which as standard runs to the front crossmember. what ii did was remove this pipe and direct it to in front of the radiator putting a cone filter on the end then remove the standard filter. as you say the airbox or an enclosure is needed so that the distribution flap can work but theres no need for a filter in there. for me it worked alot better as the air is taken from the front of the car in the airflow therefore v v cold. the std filter is a lot more restrictive than a cone filter. in addition block off half of the airbox so that flow is improved. obviously if you have drilled your airbox this wont work. i had to tweak my fueling after to compensate for more air

I run a kit on my G60. not bad. i think better than std box K-jet. The metewring head requires some sort of box other than some types such as porsche which have a pipe on the bottom. I run a sky also with k-jet and a box. Get a cone. mount in front of radiator. put pipe from cone onto airbox. remove std filter. optional modify airbox to restrict flow/turbulance. worked well for me.

the car was built with a CAT. Tis June 92 but its deffo rich. have been told it wont pass n judging by the exhaust i reckon that too. reckon it would fail noise let alone emissions
-
Any ideas on tuning it wouold be good. its gonna fail i think.

My G60 is 800 tpf&t 25 with 2yr ncb

Fitted supersprint a couple o weeks ago. they seem ok. need spacers on the back for 7.5x17 wheels but quality seems good
