Lovely corrado 20vt, just a quick question jeff my 20vt is running really poor at the moment like a really really bad misfire, i was thinking it may be one of the coil packs, what were the symptons on yours that made you realise they were cream cracked?.....
-
Cheers supercharged theres a live and an earth that connect to the strip which the float rubs up against, the cars using the mk4 pump
-
All i know is its running the mk4 ecu etc, i think i should service it, its been off the road for months
-
My c is running bad at the moment, all is fine at idle and below 2grand but if you put your foot down it really struggles like its starving of fuel, kind of like a really really bad misfire, could it be anything to do with the coil packs cause ive heard they always go on mk4's
-
Right petty gauge now working, seems there was a break in the live wire for the float sensor, little bit of soldering jobs a gooden
-
Ill do some digging and see what i can find
-
True i really dont know what to try now, ths could end up costing a fortune, its £50 for a new pump and float etc on its own, never mind new gauges from a mk4
-
yea but that doesnt explain why they did work and all of a sudden stopped working
-
I think its just using the orginal 2L pump etc and it cant have been when the clocks were put in because they have worked for a few years since the conversion, could it be something to do with the gauge itself?
-
Right a few developments, i took the pump out and all seemed well, but i did notice that when i turn my ignition on the needle does move from below nothing to the red empty mark (by the way ive got the mk4 VDO gauges in my c) but o further than that, its like it hasnt got enough charge to get up all the way.... And this hasnt just happened its not been working for a few months at all
-
Well slats out it this way i havent got any dash anymore, na the difficult bit is just getting the screw out that holds the switch in, if you take off the top of the steering cover it makes just a tiny bit easier......but like every1 says persivere
-
Brilliant, fitted the new switch and its perfect
-
Nothing at all, yea its got a concept 300but im sure its not that, it wont be the battery because you get a warning from your alarm when its nearly dead I just bought the standard switch and im fittng it tommorow ill keeep ya posted...
-
Alright matt ill do it tommorow in the light!
-
I had this problem but it was the piece of metal on the runner snapped and left it half open, got a bit of string and hooked it round and while some1 closes with the switch you pull on the tread,, closed
-
Tried to look it up but just to make sure when i turn the key nothing hppens but all the elecs work fine so not battery, dont think its the starter either so it should be the switch, also i should be getting the 2l 16v switch even tho its running a 20vt, or is if different because of different ecu?....
