Right guys need some help. I used the info below to convert from an early vr interior to a late vr interior. the wires on the respective looms were the colours detailed above. Could someone let me know if how i have used the info is wrong, i wired the early loom to late switch as below. early to late brown to brown black to blue blue/red to black/white blue to black black/yellow to black/yellow +black/blue white to white any help at all will be welcome as this is doing my nut in and i've got through a heap of fuses, Cheers Dan

Another for Andy Brookes. airbox arrived quickly and well packaged.

Bad weekend of my own making too. Took the idle control valve of my VR to clean it as it was stalling but very infrequently. Made it twenty times worse completely erratic idle now and won't pick the rev's up at all. No one to blame but myself. makes it worse i feel.

Probably make you want one even more! Not all bad least your golf has a vr in it. Like to see peoples faces as that ripped past.

i'd go for the vr, i'll do 32mpg driving normally not hard but again not going out of my way to save fuel. not putting the g60 down but i think aswell the vr is gonna be the classic and more sought after.

That is pure class was either one of these or a corrado for me.

Thought i post up a couple of pics of my vr. This is my second after i crashed my first, bought another as by the time i would have fixed the first i had the price of this. Travelled all the way to cambridge for her, it needs work as the paint has a few scratches and dents but isn't too bad. Sorting the mechanicals first though, since i got her i've changed the suspension to koni shocks and PI springs, the rear discs pads and hoses and swapped the interior. Shes been chipped, has a K&N filter and magnex exhaust had her rolling roaded at 185bhp and 197lb/ft so happy enough for the mean time. few photos before i fitted the suspension.

Agree with you Walesy, of course all traders aren't scum. Everyone has to make a living. Mikey I think if you like the look of the car go and see it in the metal check it out really well, take if for a good drive but don't get carried away as there are there seem to be plenty for sale at the minute for good prices.

just a quick question, are these interchangeable between distributor type vr engines and coilpack vr engines? Used the search and couldn't find an answer! Cheers Dan

i don't know much about them but i'm sure someone else will but if i was you i'd check out the cars for sale section here, as there's some good bargains to be had! think its better to buy from an enthusiast whose looked after the car rather than traders looking for profit!

Are you sure the other engine is in good condition. Be a pain in the arse if you swapped them to find out it was buggered too!

thats surprising i thought the supercharger would add torque aswell as top end. I'm happy enough with the results was just wondering how accurate the torque was! Would like to do a few mods to get closer to 200bhp

yeah its a vr! the guy kept the bonnets closed and only had a small fan i'll find a pic of it. He seemed to know what he was at though as there was a s2000 engined caterham there to be setup aswell.

well guys, was at a rr day on saturday with the NI branch of clubgti was a great day. my results were 185bhp@(about)5600rpm and 145bhp at the wheels and 197lb/ft@(about)4250rpm not exactly sure of the the rpm's as don't have the printout in front of me! the car has been superchipped, magnex cat back exhaust and a k&n cone filter but i reckon this is sapping power. just wondering are these results near the mark and could you put the increase in torque down to those mods? any ideas?
