Two weeks ago, i turned up for work and found the steel gates on the floor and the showroom window all over the floor. Turned out a gang had come down stolen an EVO 8 by reversing out the window and then ramming the gates, They also tried to nick an EVO 7GTA but couldnt on,amazing watching back on cctv,

Be careful, treat it like you would from buying anywhere else, like supercharged said you have to see it and drive it, and the idea of ebay being an auction site means it must really be cheaper than buying from other sources. (eg ive seen way to high reserve bids on there) :)

supercharged, the tape that you have seen should say what temps and liquids it is able to cope, but normal good quality insulation tape is perfect for the job, thats all we use at work(even on EVO's) plus you can get coloured tape now so you colour code your looms to the rest of the car 8)

Agree with above comments, lots of hard work and machining involved, the box and vr6 would have to be really cheap. Could be an interesting project though if you do go ahead with it.

G60jet,like i say its a dealer edition the dealership i used to work at used to spruce some models with extra decals, suspension, wheels and interior parts etc.. (though not nowadays due limitations by the manafacturer). just draw people into the showroom across from the Audi section. My corrado had/has martini stripes, coloured badges, lowered suspension and VDO gauges and full electrics pack. They also dressed a 16v golf the same. So not quite as different and nice as your special model. :)

woody, the job is not bad at all, make sure you get every bit of old gasket off though. Are sure its the gasket leaking and not a porous sump as early cars do suffer from this. While the sumps off give the pick up a quick clean as well. :)

Biggrim Hi a few questions to try and get to the bottom of this problem. 1) Is the car using any coolant if so how much. 2)How hot does the coolant get (ignore the oil temp) and does it heat up quickly. 3)I take it you have double checked the fan is still working ok. 4)Have you changed the thermostat yet. ??

Hi blown, does the noise occour only when turning? sounds like a CV joint culd be worn. This happens at slower speeds when turning (more so in full lock) and heavy clonking noise is heard :) :)

Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself, Good to find a place where people understand what the corrado is all about and means to own one. I own a Early"martini" dealer edition 16v, I used to be a VW technician a few years ago(so i will try to help out on any tech probs) but work for Mitsubishi as a service controller. And altohugh the EVO 8 is an awseome car I still prefer the corrado (strange?)
