vr6storm, Thanks for that mate....i would have been lost trying to look for it if i had not known it was behind the rear door card!!
-
My driver side elec window has stopped working :( The passenger side works fine! My side has always been a bit dodgy as in i have to press the window button a few times before it will work. Now its taking 10+ times and even then it might not go down.....any ideas on yet another fault?!!!

GIXXERUK, The steering wheels shake at 90mph onwards, this is of course on a private road! The distorted wheel was put on the back of my car by mechanic so i had both rear tyres changed as one was scrubbed on the inside (not distorted tyre) so had 2 new rear Yoko's put on that were balanced. The fronts have not been balanced or tracking done.

flusted, PM sent mate!

That was one quick reply Jim....thank you :) So a VW backbox is going to be cheaper.....oh! Would it be beneificial to get a Supersprint backbox, would it release a couple more horses or will it just make a loud noise?
-
Thank you for that advice mate, i will try it later! When putting the new pads in though, would'nt the specialist VW mechanic have found the caliper to be binding? I know nothing about braking systems by the way!!

Im in need of a back box for my Raddo. Thing is a standard one is £105 :( I have tried getting hold of an aftermarket one but they are fine if you have a later model, i.e 2.0 16v....the 1.8 16v no one does an aftermarket back box....or do they....any ideas or help on if and where i could get one from? Ive spoken to Venom and they said i would need a complete system costing a touch over £300, trouble is my cash flow is tight and cant afford that.

My Raddo went in a few weeks ago to get checked over. The mechanic said i had a front distorted tyre (front passenger side) I got the tyre replaced. My Raddo went in to a specialist VW mechanic yesterday who got my heater working.....so happy!! Anyway he gave my car a good once over and noticed the front passenger break pad had worn a lot more than the drivers side. He replaced both. I forgot to tell him that a few weeks ago i had the tyre changed due to it being distorted. What could it be.....distorted front passenger tyre, brake pad on that wheel worn down lots....also the car feels strange when going round a r.bout, fine when going into a left bend though....any ideas on this? Oh and at high speeds the cars steering judders!

Great cars! A lad at the gym used to have one, i saw 139mph on the road angel (on a private bit of road!) Handled very well....better than my old 205 1.9.

Thanks tonedef. Just rung them and they said they sent it out over a week ago so they are sending me out another one :)

I bought my Raddo on the 22nd of December. I still have not recieved the log book? I checked out the DVLA site and there are no contact numbers. I do have the new keepers supplement and all other doc's, MOT etc but still log book has not arrived? I sold my Golf GTI 16v on the 21st of December and had a letter back from the DVLA last week saying that they have now changed ownership, think this is a new thing as i have never had a letter from them saying that before! Surely if i have had a letter from them telling me about my Golf being sold my log book for my Raddo should have arrived?

Could not believe my eyes when i pulled up at my local petrol station earlier and saw BP102 Ultimate. It costs.....ready for this? £2.42 a litre! BP's 97 Ultimate costs 98.9p per litre. Obviously the 102 Ultimate lives upto its name in being 102 Octane rating. The lad in the garage said people had travelled a fair distance to fill up, cars he said that had been filling up were Evo's, Cossie's, Scooby's. My girlfriend worked out to fill a 60 litre tank from empty to full of this new 102 Ultimate would cost £145.20p  Any Raddo users gonna try this new fuel?....think the VR6 would benefit as in any performance difference. BP garages that are selling it are: All Saints Self Serve. Comercial road, Portsmouth, Hampshire. Tudor Filling Station. London Road, Allington, Maidstone, Kent Newham Way Service Station. Newham Way, Canning Town, London. Newbury Centre Filling Station. 758 Eastern Avenue, Newbury Park, Ilford, Essex. Wavendon Gate Connect. Newport road, Wavendon, Milton Keynes. Chicheley Park Connect. Tickford Street, Newport Pagnell, Buckinghamshire. Hexagon Connect. 340 Woolich Road, Charlton. Premier Connect. 99 Chaseside, Southgate, London. and the last one!! Byron Connect. 407 High Road, North Finchley, London.

My horrible aftermarket sunroof has gone and been replaced with an electric glass one. One big trouble.....the motor for the sunroof sits at the front and as the old aftermaket hole had been cut so close to the windscreen i can now not fit the interior light. My girlfriend is doing the headlining, not an original fitment as original would not fit sunroof. Where can i locate my interior light....any ideas? Wiring is not a problem!

My Corrado is going in next Monday to get a few bits looked at by a mechanic who has worked on Golf GTI's and Corrado's for years so he will be able to fix the problem....is it dangerous to drive until then?
-
My car is showing 120c whilst driving carefully....it reached this temp after 5 mins of driving. The light is flashing on temp gauge as soon as i start up. Bottom rad hose is not getting hot nor are the matrix hoses......any ideas?
-
Or you could leave the existing headlining in there... Classic
-
That just makes me angry seeing the pics mate....i really feel for you.
-
Good idea Jonny. I know a place which sells thousands of differant styles of materials. I could go really mad and go for the lepoard skin look to match my boxer shorts  I have to try and keep happy as my bank balance is getting lower :(
-
Oh....good point! This is an idea.... My girlfriend is fantastic with upholstery so may get her to make me a headlining, maybe from accoutic black cloth as my interior is black. I know its not a proper job but trying to find a non-sunroof headlining could take months/years!

What is the average price...estimate on a weld for a sunroof....most prob' need spraying too?!

You have just cheered me up Jonny with that

I met a member 'Davidwort' off forum the other day. He is ultra knowledgable on Corrados. He looked in horror as he said my sunroof was an aftermarket thing thus why the headling was sagging as it was a bit of thin carpet streched. Well this morning i took the terrible headling down to which revealed a sunroof that had been stuck....no word of a lie...stuck to the roof! I pulled on the runners and the entire thing collapsed. I was then left with a hole in my roof. I have cut the runners off and offered the sunroof back up with no nails keeping it in place until i can call a welder tommorow to find out how much its going to cost to get the thing welded in. The hole is far bigger than a normal Rado sunroof hole as David pointed out the other day. Im a bit stuck now, i could get the sunroof welded back in or have a plate put over the top or bottom, whatever it is going to be is going to cost....more money again!

Ok mate....here goes! Get some Focal or Infinity comps in 6.5" mids with tweets. The tweets can live where your 3" mids in dash are. Loosing an Alpine head unit for a JVC, hmmmm, i would stick to an Alpine anyday but its down to personal choice. JVC do have lots of flashing lights with different colours and looking all techno but whats the sound quality like, maybe try a search on Google with model name etc before you part with any cash on headunit? As for subs 2 X 10"s are just fine for a nice tight, punchy bass. Running subs off an amp really does not matter what amp you have as long as it has some power. Sony are terrors for splashing some huge fiqures across the front of there amps, what you really need to know is the true RMS figures. The comps can run off the head unit but will sound so much better if run off an amp....far more clarity and volume, many people say 'oh my speakers are distorting' fact is its almost always the amp giving in thus giving the distorted sound. If you need help with wiring in your comps then please feel free to PM me. Paul.

Those bottom ones are lovely. Who sells them?
