That's all I want. Main reason I bought another G60 (my 3rd) is because I love the noise they make with the standard pulley. Personally, I don't think they sound as good with a smaller pulley. Changing the back box only, gives a blend of charger and exhaust note that works perfectly. I've done the full mod thing before, this time I'll be happy with just that sweet noise .. a bit of reliability would also be nice! Could you point me towards some back boxes? At present I'm looking at powerflow (which I've also done before) and at £200, thought that was a little expensive.

Want to fit just an aftermarket backbox to my G60 but can't find anything out there. Will a Golf backbox or one for any other model fit?

Actually, when I did this years ago on my first Corrado, I used a MK1 cooler and I left the original cooler in place, but I remember the oil filter was fouling on the chassis. Can you use a Mk2 Golf filter instead? Think I put a spacer in where the front engine mount was to lift the engine a little ...

Nice, so blanking these pipes is fine then if your going to replace them with ones that didn't have that extra circuit for the cooler. I would have used a MK1 shaft but I didn' have one, was running out of daylight and needed the car back on the road! It all seems to be running fine and the oil is much cooler. Does take a lot longer to warm up tho, did I hear that you can buy a sandwich plate that has a thermostat built in? Also, I had to position the sandwich plate so that the pipes where coming off at a funny angle as they were fouling on the undrside of the silencer box ... guess an RSR outlet would cure that issue?

Hi, Been outdoors all day removing all the skin from my knuckles .. also managed to fit a 13 row oil cooler! Had a few issues and just wanted to check if anyone can confirm if what I have done is OK. I had to cut the spigget thing so that I just had a threaded piece so that I could fit the sandwich plate properly .. is this OK? didn't have many turns on the thread left but guess it doesn't have to be that tight? Also, I didn't have anything to join the old water hoses together, so I just blanked each of them of (using lids from my mothers nail varnish!) - again, is this OK - These aren't main water ways so guessing this won't cause any over heating problems... BTW, tested car and oil never went over 92 degrees, better than 130 that I had last night!

FYI, I bought a coil pack on ebay for a Golf VR I had recently for £20 ! There was quite a few on there as these are used in Fords aswell. My missfire developed after I washed the engine .. don't think those coil packs like getting wet.

Hi, there doesn't seem to be any power steering on my new G60, am I right in thinking there is an independent belt driving the pump? I've also got a nasty rattle coming from somewhere which I thought might be big ends, but I thought maybe it's the pump and wanted to take the belt off to see if the noise goes away as guessing the pump is knackered. Am I OK to take that belt off? Thing pinks like mad aswell. Bought a Macol oil cooler kit which is going on possibly tomorrow.

Excellent ... I thought the voltage reg was favourite and was hoping that someone would confirm. Thanks for the advice and if anyone has an alternator or regulator, obviously I'm in the market ! Cheers. Also, has anyone bought anthing from Vortech ? I just watched a charger end on ebay for £430 and it was per their description "highest spec." I didn't bid as some of the things they write seem a little odd, like "this charger is fast," "shortened Pulley" and "these extra large cogs will eliminate belt slip" - eh ?? belt slip on those means bye bye charger, so not sure what they are getting at there ?? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... :IT&ih=024

Hi Bought a Corrado G60 just recently. Car is OK, bit of a shed, but think with a bit of work it will be alright ... Fitted an uprated loom for the headlamps .. good results. Last 2 times I've been out driving at night I've had momentary surges in electrical output .. I think. Tonight, I was driving home and after about 40 minutes of driving the dashboard lights went really bright for about 5 seconds, as did the headlamps, then, the headlamps cut out (nice, at 90mph on the M3). I pulled into the service station and found both bulbs blown (annoying as I juts put these in and they are the expensive Phillips extreme ones - which are really good I might add!). Has anyone heard of this problem? Any ideas appreciated ! Cheers, Will.

Hi Andy, any chance you can put me down for one of your top end looms? If yes, let me know re payment etc, cheers.

Are you getting any knocking from the bottom end at around 3,000 revs? Your big ends might be worn which is one of the most common reason for oil pressure loss. Try revving it up to around 4,000 and listen for a quick succession knocking, sounds more like a vibration - if you can hear anything resembling a knock, it could be your big ends ... common on G60's. That said, you can still have worn big ends and pressure loss without any noises. Don't be too quick to assume it's a sensor, from what your saying, when your oil gets very hot, as it's does on G60's, your losing pressure - what mileage has she done? Also, fit an after market oil cooler (or one from a MK1 Golf GTI), this will knock 10 degrees off your normal running temp and elimate those really high temps you see when you've been driving it really hard.

Standard pulley is 78mm. You should see up to 11 psi with a standard pulley, so with a 70mm you should be getting somewhere nearer 13 psi. My old G60 ran a 68mm pulley and made approx 14 - 15 psi. I ran it with a 70mm pulley with standard chip for a few days once and other than being a little flat, it still made a big difference to the performance. Ideally you ought to have the thing re-mapped whether it's chipped or not, as chances are it's a plug and play chip which if I remember correctly are normally pretty bad. I think at that time I was using the original belt too before I moved on to a Bahn Brenner extender jobby. I think your guage might be out.
