have a 95 vr6 with 170k which started running on 5 cylinders the other day. when it is running it is smoky and smells of petrol. i narrowed it down to no 2 cylinder (lhs of bottom bank as you look)took out plug which was covered in petrol and did a compression test which read 150lbs. changed the lead but no joy. when i took out the plug again i noticed the cylinder was full of petrol . how could this be ? an injector problem ? thanks for any help submitted.

david, it could be. the engine in the car is an aum which he said came out of a low mileage tt180. so its only a five speed , mystery solved i'd say !!

david, flanges are 110mm . could this be a 6sp box. how could i tell , thanks,

lads can anyone help me indetify a vw gearbox please. 3 numbers. stamped on top plate. fvs 19101 371020 inside bellhousing. ww07 02j301107c beside drive flange. 02j 301103fp5 r1 02a is on the rubber plug on top and also stamped on the bearing behind the clutch arm. thanks lads

how are ye. i am in the process of buying a 1.8t corrado that is fitted with an aum engine. the seller also has a six speed 02j box. should i buy this as well or is it too much hassle to fit. he tells me he also has the flanges necessary to fit the engine. thanks a million.

quick question . i am trying to get the bits to gether for a conversion from vr6 to 20vt. i have been told that i can use the vr6 gearbox when doing the onversion, is this correct ? my thinking would be it would be nice to keep 5 stud hubs, bigger brakes and stronger drive shafts etc if this was so, thanks.

thnking about doing a 1.8t conversion on my corrado vr6. today i went to look at an 01 seat leon cupra with an auq engine code. car drove fine , engine was strong and quiet with no rattles and no blue smoke at high revs but had 154,000 miles on it. i have never come across one with such high miles . should i be wary or take a gamble .

have been offered a pair of front leather tt seats. is there much involved in putting them into a corrado, has anybody done it please.??

looking for help. 95 corrado vr6 starts but cuts out after two seconds.i have disabled the cobra alarm and it does not change things. the car was running perfectly up until this problem. it reminds me of a fault in the old ignition systems when the feedback to the coil was broken. anybody got any ideas, thanks a million.

hello all. looking for a bit of advice on fitting a new set of wheels to my vr. it is twilight violet. i have my options narrowed down. has anyone got pictures of a corrado with a set of fox evo 4 17" or bk 299. a bit of guidance in this area would be appreciated. i saw a black rado on a canadian club calender a few years ago with a set of "sagittas" on it and they looked fab, very similar to the fox evo 4 racing..... any ideas ? thanks

quick question for everybody out there. has any body replicated the headlight washers in the winter pack. is there a kit available, any other alternative, price , ideas. thanks a million.

A quick question from the emerald isle. has anyone come across a vr6 corrado with a 1.8t thrown in. i know a g60 is the usual donor vehicle but has it been done to a later one 93,94, 95, or 96. thanks :?:
