  1. bring it to me lol. ill fit it for £1200 in a weekend. you want one that looked like mine? :) i personally wouldnt put £1200 into dropping a vr6 lump in. save and buy something else. i know you've been contemplating it for ages but as you know ive been there done that aswell. i did it for the experience + i got all my parts new and at a steal (plus i was bored :) ) hence why i did it. a lot of vr6 seem to be getting tired now so you could put all ths money into it and find you have oil issues in the near future. then youll possibly be looking at a new block or rebuild when you could have just put the money into a much more refined/more powerful/newer r32 engine - or 1.8t, not sure what your preference would be. if your lucky, you could have an r32 in there for around £2k, if that means waiting 6 more months to save up etc id wait. just my 2 cents. by the by is sparkz the guy who had the white mk2 golf? p.s doubt your tank will take a vr6 pump, mine was a late 16v tank and it didnt have the slot to turn the vr pump into. just use your 16v one for the time being. i didnt have any fuel reading issues with mine. g60 brakes will be more than enough for a standard vr and you will want the corrado vr6 speedo with speedo loom. if you take this on good luck bud, im not trying to be completely negative, i just thought you'd like another point of view from someone who did one, completely finished it and ran it for couple of years.
  2. just use a bit of jet blue sealing compound around the rad switch (all plumbers should have some :D ) tbh ptfe tape will work too but i always use jet blue as i prefer paste rather than tape in plastic. you shouldnt have to use silicone or gasket seal. if all the components and seals are new/good and the job is done properly it wont leak.
  3. your photos of the rs's have caused me a financial headache  the car looks stunning! well done :salute: my bbs have to go up for sale now so i can fund some rs's
  4. Chris

    help trouble

got anymore details? was it suffering from any problems before this? is the engine trying to turn over when you turn the key?
  5. what about one of the new golf 2.0l turbo engines? i know white house in bristol have a very low mileage one from a 59 plate - around £1500 for everything including looms. not sure how difficult these are to install...
  6. if its anything like marcus's old vrt, then no it wont be laggy.
  7. ill take some photos for you tomorrow john, changing the slave is dead easy.
  8. £700! jesus christ! they saw you coming :)
  9. hello bud, there both quite easy to change. the slave is held in by 2x 13mm bolts iirc. then you just need to get the feed line out. (thinking about it, its probably easier if you undo the feed line first, just have a rag to catch the fluid). i bought this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-GOLF-MK2-G60-MK3-CORRADO-VR6-CLUTCH-SLAVE-CYL-C356_W0QQitemZ190320220928QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item2c4ff81b00#ht_1627wt_941 ive used it for a year so far with no problems, its just as good as the genuine one in my opinion. as for the master, i removed my brave servo at the time so found it quite easy. when you look, you'll see one of the 2 nuts holding it in place is behind the servo. cant remember if the studs are actually welded in place. anyway once they are both off its then just a case of removing the retaining clip on the pedal box. (this is certainly easier when the servo is out of the way) hopefully its just the seal on the slave thats gone. its usually the case. hope this helps. chris
  10. I imagine that is supply and fit into another R32 Golf and not a Corrado with hours and hours of loom work and fabrication. yep, this will be a straight swap into a golf, doubt they will do it into a corrado for those prices. i know the 3rd option wont do it into a corrado.
